    Thanks for your video. I just want to suggest that you mention another common side effect which is that this drug very often takes away the joy of life. It can turn you into a vegetable devoid of emotions. Im talking about a severe dulling down of the experience of life. I think you need to explain this in language like this that people understand. But thank you for your video it was very informative and i really appreciated the information.

      I went through decades of being drugged with antidepressants including lamictal. None of then really stopped the depression. They disrupted my brain chemistry sobadly that after tapering it took me a few years to regain my regular feelings and personality. But what I did find worked was ating a 100% organic diet, having your own hugelkultur garden, surrounding myself with lovely pets and a loving supportive community, volunteer work and dailt exercise in nature. I still have bad days like every human does, but I am happier with this approach than I have been since the mid 1980's when the "doctors" thought that my childhood sexual assault by a Catholic cop who was my scout leader were "delusions" even though he was caught and fired for raping a child. Now with all the video footage of violent criminal cops, and the many thousands of court cases against the Catholic church and the 82,000 plaintiffs in the case against the scouts,we know he was the trifecta of pedophilia. But the doctors drugged me for that "delusion" for 4 decades. Doctors do not know everything...in fact they know incredibly little about life. Trust yourself and love yourself.Stay a way from drugs. Do research on how to create a healthy gut microbiome. Get chemicals out of your life and especially your food. Be courageous enough to allow yourself to shine and to truly be who YOU really are and who you want to be. Numbing and living a half life was not the answer and now at 60 I regret wasting somuch of my potential for somany years and listening to the "experts".

So they're putting me on this to gain weight....which is all good and well but is it really worth the abundance of side effects?

      Probably not my guy, doctors need to weigh the pros and cons of the drug and I'm no doctor but i think that to use it just for weight gain it's overkill. Unless its also to help you mentally, like if you have intrusive thoughts that prevent you from eating. Discuss with your doctor an alternative option or at least an exit strategy such as when you hit a goal weight you can come off of it

  • @raoulduke3273
    @raoulduke3273 Рік тому +1

    This video is more than misleading first of all Olanzapines main indication is schizophrenia it is approved for the things you said but naming those first is misleading by making people with bipolar more comfortable taking these medications constantly I have also not heard of anyone with bipolar getting a long lasting injectable that is called Schizoaffective and is a different disorder that is if you have bipolar and psychotic features then by explaining the receptor thing it is correct but we know very little about those receptors and here Olanzapine is considered a high potency antipsychotic that can replace benperidol in writing (article about benperidol talking about reasons why it’s gone out of favor) Which is stronger than haloperidol (Haldol Janssen) which is overkill for adding as a depression treatment with fluoexetine also you are just meantioning fluoexetine (prozac) while in most literature any antidepressant is named there used to be a combination product called symbiax which had both of them another attempt of Eli Lilly to extend Prozacs patent do you maybe have any conflicts of interest to declare? You declare your a nurse anyways also an injection will do the exact same thing as the pill just that the pill takes a bit longer about an hour to maybe 3 hours for peak plasma I have to look up again your talking about how long it takes for a schizophrenic patient that responds needs to fully recover of all symptoms for mania a pill will be just as effective and the orally dispersable version you mentioned also works faster and controls agitation and aggression, mania and even psychotic symptoms from the first pill even the pill does

      Thanks for your insight. Guess you haven't spent much time on the channel to understand that I am first and foremost an advocate of using skills before pills. I make this videos to provide a form of informed consent so that patients can understand what they are taking, since most providers don't have the time to explain. And most patients dont read the meducation labels. I get most of the information from the FDA label.

    • @raoulduke3273
      @raoulduke3273 Рік тому +1

      @@LevelheadedMind I guess I didn’t spend enough time on your channel. I agree and am thinking about starting a project of my own for harm reduction in substance abuse. (A lot of the existing channels are very biased and ignore studies that f.e MDMA is neurotoxic and make bogus claims that so and so many times a year is fine. It is neurotoxic every time our brain is just great at adapting to lower levels of serotonin until it is too late). And education about psychiatric drugs maybe a second channel because a lot of substances are misunderstood used wrong by doctors and have a stigma like haldol. I know someone that’s on the LAI that tried like a lot of atypicals was on abilify and loxapine and still had hallucinations. Since he’s been on haldol he’s been able to live somewhat of a normal life as far as I can tell still there is a lot of people receiving medications that are overkill and we have great treatments now like: Latuda,Vraylar(seems to be 50/50 for most of the people I talk to either don’t like it or best med they ever tried) and we’ll see how Caplyta will fair I think it’s interesting structurally (it being related to low potency buyrophenones like pipamperone). Invega seems to be great for a lot of people and Zyprexa seems to be one of the most effective APs period. With actual statistical difference and superiority in the CATIE study (effectiveness 10% over control perphenazine. Risperidone was about as effective as pphz everything else faired less it’s an older study and none of the meds I just mentioned were included. And I also know people that are stable on a lot of the meds that were less effective then perphenazine. I think the most important thing is that people can try a lot of different medication because I’ve seen meds work for people where you wouldn’t have expected sometimes. And there is some evidence that hasn’t been investigated since the 90s that certain low potency first gens like levomepromazine are not only atypical but also effective in treatment resistant schizophrenia. And Trimipramine has almost the identical binding profile to most D and 5ht receptors as clozapine. And was also deemed effective in a study for treatment resistant schizophrenia as well. The advent of atypicals the studies were around 91/92 and the availability of so many different ones shelved these things still very interesting and potential options for non-responders! If you want I’ll try to find you the studies. Anyways thanks for the reply keep educating people!
