It's so nice to see a sophisticated pianist in pop. Who plays more than just simple repeated chords. His sense of rhythm and use of the piano as a pure percussion instrument is so creative. It's great he's doing well and not resigned to playing Chopin etudes.
Nuffin wrong with Chopin etudes 😊 but this is sure something’ else !!!!
@@jennroberts3837 Actually there IS (arguably, and with respect) something wrong with Chopin Etudes. They are amazing to play as technical exercises (which is why they were written), but not so great to LISTEN to, especially if you are not a piano student . That goes for a lot of 'classical' music generally, let's be honest (which, incidentally, is why many classical audiences - with some exceptions - are actually BORED/ GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS!)

Do you know what is the most fascinating thing about this performance? The loops are post production, which means that in reality he heard only that what he was hitting the piano at that moment. This is amazing, because the loops and filling up the space he had all in his head and everything turned out perfectly. I am impressed.
Isn't it possible, that the loop station has been controlled by someone else during the recording?
Generally, Bence's music videos are productions, not performances, and in my opinion are all the more awesome for it. The audio and the video are typically separate takes.

@@nickchatz1313 Yeah. I think his pedals are key to the integration. In effect he plays the piano, AND he plays the looper at the same time.
He's got a look pedal at the end of the piano, they yellow box is a look pedal/trigger

There needs a competition show about the best pianist, violinist etc... and have these great musicians from all over the world to compete and share their great talents to the world.
One of the biggest reason I love his videos is that he can express the emotions and the meanings of every song so beautifully and powerfully by his skills and his moves!
Peter Bence at his best!! It'll be fun to see how this video does compared with Peter Buka's by now famous piano arrangement on UA-cam. I love both versions.

You wrote it in E minor as otherwise you would have run out of keys on your piano on the right end around 2:44 in your video.
Именно на этом конкретном пианино в верхнем регистре отсутствуют три клавиши: В, Н, С. Это на 1,5 тона меньше, чем на клавиатуре рояля. Да и носом удобнее играть : E - C - D в Е minor, чем ноты F# - D - E в F# minor! Проверяла лично! 😂🤣😂👍👍👍

E minor is easier to play with your nose...
As being the fastest pianist, one would love to play any music with more keys at fine grained level. E-minor has many pitches which includes F# minor. Hence, you probably chose it, and nosed it as well!

I absolutely love the unique themes Peter added to this song. Throughout most of the piece, some notes or even the main melody sound "off" like a mistake, like 1:12, 1:30, 1:36, and 2:57. These moments are very unexpected and contribute very well to the funky theme. The distortion loop at the end also really sells it. Stuff like that is what makes this cover so unique from all the rest.
