I love learning the culture through this perspective of someone that has technically left the community but still feels connected to it and is able to respectfully share their insight into the community! Very interesting to me :) lots of love to everyone 💕
Hello Becca i am from Singapore i am 40 years old i am a Muslim. Yes exactly u are absolutely right. That's was what i told Frieda i really learn a lot about the Jews from her channel. As a Muslim i think it is really useful for me to know more about the Jews cause there are similarities between the Jews and Muslim.
Everyone is excited to see Seth and noticing he's so grown up but no one seems to notice the most important part.He carries his mom's bag in addition to his own. The white bag with the mysterious green mat.
Dear Frieda, I myself am Lubavitch and I was very surprised to see a chassishe man who isn't, offering to help you bentch lulav and esrog. It was so nice!! I found out many years ago that Kloisenberg (excuse my spelling), doesn't allow women to do this mitzvah. I'm wondering if it's because they don't think women are obligated so they think it's a bracha livatoloh?! Anyway, so nice to see you branching out to other sects and other parts of Brooklyn.
what a sweet man that gave you his lulav to shake. growing up, for me, the high point of the year, was when our chazen, at Shaarey Tefilo, in East Orange, NJ, an attorney by day, would chant the melody while really solemnly shaking the lulav in each of the 4 directions. I cant say why i loved that so much, something about the lulav itself, and the ritual, but it felt like the high point of the service, almost like the Kol Nidre or ever Yom Kippur, as it were. Thank you!
Your channel is so interesting, I feel what is missing deep in your heart. I can feel this little pinch that makes your heart ache when you think about the past. But you are a bridge, and so half of you is still deeply there And I pray, that one day, you’ll feel again this sense of plenitude You are a real beam of sunshine Always smiling, and you know to ask the good questions. The issue of some rebbe being rescued by the whom who were destined to die, was very very important to ask, and having their real view about this issue was important to make it heard. Greeting from Switzerland
I stumbled on your channel a few weeks ago. I used to belong to that community. You explain things so well and honestly. Can't wait to see what you have next.
Hey, freida l, too have a fear of heightof heights, l didnt get it from my dad. He had no fear he worked on tall buidings, washing windows. He too was jewish-- now deceased. He had no problems in that area. He and his co workers had a sayind, " don't step back to admire your work".😂 he was in ww2 against germany. I was born 1945.so l knew nothing about what went on. Both my parents were jewish❤😅😅😅😅😅
You have a lovely son, Frieda. Seth seems like such a nice person. Today's episode looked like a lot of fun - but then, all your episodes are interesting!
As always, fantastic job, Frieda! I always learn a bit more about the Hasidic community with each of your Williamsburg excursions. Love your videos…keep ‘em coming! 💗

Shaking the lulav in the sukkah is a kabbalistic custom, so is probably pretty common amongst Chasidim. Most non-chasidic Orthodox Jews though don't do that, and just shake it at shul or home.
Very interesting for me were the black "strumpfhosen", that the girls were wearing. Even very young ones. Here they are very hard to find, exception is around New Year, when they are ment to bo worn to Opera,.... In other seasons are not to be found... There are white, pink and other girly colours... No black 😎
Very interesting. I noticed 2 things when the gentleman handed you the palm branch and the fruit. It appeared that he was consciously trying to avoid touching you - was that by design or am I reading too much into the interaction? Secondly, your close captioning altered the word Lord and God - was that a UA-cam issue that you were skirting around?
To cut long story short relations between the 2 genders by my understanding are kept extremely business like ie no touching socialising chit chat etc unless with good reason
The women definitely dance but in a more private, enclosed space at events such such as at weddings. The ladies then gather in a gender-separated room or a partition is set up between them and the men.
I think you need to watch some more of these videos, Ms. Fitzgerald, if the impression you're getting is that Frieda Vizel hates the community. Her take is clearly more nuanced than that.
Adara, I'm curious where your comment comes from. Do you mind my asking about it? Where do you come from and what makes you say this? Are you Hasidic? What's your affiliation? Why do you think this is important?
@@FriedaVizelBrooklyn Frieda you look great in that haircut. As a fellow jew growing up in your neighborhood...do you ever have moments..where the pintele yid in you nudges you into deeper introspection as to the truth of Torah?
@@anonymous-io6zg Dear Frieda, You are such a sweet, sensative, smart young woman, and obviously disconnected to a certain extent from your upbringing and past. And also obvious, something serious precipitated that disconnect. So sad that you have not made peace with whatever happened and baby got thrown our along with the bath water, so to speak. But love your tasteful and interesting videos. So real and non-judgmental on your part, Thank you
i don't understand why when the Jews paid for the rides so that Jews could ride them the no hasid kids needed to go enlarge the line and take away from the Jews, who remember, paid for it...
Great video :) 👍 it's so interesting to see different cultures right here in the states I wasn't familiar with. I also like that I can let my kids watch too since the videos you make are so wholesome. Whoever is editing the vids is doing awesome too!

thank you for sharing! nice to see Seth !
It touches my heart to watch your videos. It stirs my roots and helps me reconnect.
Sukkot has always been my favorite chag. What my mother, and father, used to do to fill the chag with joy, still 60 years later, fills me with joy.
How beautiful. Thank you for sharing, very special

You are so kind, shkoyach!
The amount of preparation is astounding. I also loved seeing the interior of the room you filmed after it had been so beautifully prepared. ❤

I also appreciate her attitude because there are a lot of sad narratives which also deserve attention, but attitudes like her's balance it out.

Welcome aboard!
It’s hard to believe you are old enough to have a full grown son. Very interesting customs
When you get married at 18 and have a child at 19 youll have an 18 year old by the time you are 37...
You found the secret Lubavitcher :)
Ha ha, right on! I believe he is the ONLY person in Williamsburg who does a bit of lubavich outreach.
Lubavitch is Russian, Satmar is Hungarian. Than you have breslover which is Polish or Lithuanian
wonderful!!!
Fascinating.
Blessings & Prayers. very endearing to see this man pray with you Baruch Hac__m. Shana tova
Wow, you got to do a mitzvah! Wonderful to see your illustrious kid :)
Omggg how old is Seth now? Such a big bochur!!! Did he go on the rides? 😂
2 min mark someone is about to get an asswooping
ha ha, I saw that

What does your son think about what you “saved”him from? Your videos have answered so many questions I have about the Hasidic community. Thank you!

Wow the Munkatch sukkah looks like a kratzmach boim by us we do not put any decorations
Who is your photographer?
Kind of him.
Cooking (within halachik boundaries) is allowed on holidays
good point!
What is a mitzvah?
A good deed :)
Do women not dance?
Not mixed with the men
To cut long story short relations between the 2 genders by my understanding are kept extremely business like ie no touching socialising chit chat etc unless with good reason
@@jameschicken1008 yeah but dancings fun. Can't they dance with other women?
They can dance but not when men are around. If its a women only event or area where men can't see they can dance to hearts content.
The women definitely dance but in a more private, enclosed space at events such such as at weddings. The ladies then gather in a gender-separated room or a partition is set up between them and the men.
Do you practice any form of Judaism now?
Yeah I celebrate stuff
Funny how things work out ,a culture that you hated and here we are watching make a living off of it !funny yes
Never hated it.
I think you need to watch some more of these videos, Ms. Fitzgerald, if the impression you're getting is that Frieda Vizel hates the community. Her take is clearly more nuanced than that.
If you really respected the community you would not walk there in pants.
This is very different from a shtetl you must be imagining its NYC thats full of diversity. No one cares or notices.
Shes very respectful. Leave her alone. Thanks for your series...
