Bought my BSA .22 Ultra CLX two years ago, it’s been fabulous 👍 I fitted a Weihrauch moderator (might be a bit shorter than yours) and it’s very quiet. Air Arms Diabolo Fields suit mine nicely
Excellent video. I purchased a BSAR10SE in 177cal. It's the FAC right hand walnut version. It's beautiful, accurate and stone reliable. I love the classic looks and feel. It's my favorite rifle and I own a few. Hi,from the USA 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Excellent vid, a full appraisal will be something to look forward to, as will beginners guide, that'll be brilliant, will keep even seasoned shooters on the ball..
Greetings from the US and thanks for showcasing that BSA. I’ve only ever seen the old vintage beauties from the USOG channel. That fellow must be rolling in money judging from his collection. Thanks again and I am just passing by on my journey through the airgun world.
Thanks Jeff, I enjoyed the video. Yes, perhaps a complete begining to end guide - selecting, ordering, unboxing, cleaning, setting up, scoping, adjusting, finding the pelet type video. It may need a 2 part video. Your range of experience could useful as a sort of beginners guide of how to get started and settled down with a gun. Fly Navy
Yo bro, great video once again.. I was all excited with you opening the box.. 😂😂I think you won a watch with that rifle, its in pristine condition 👍👍 happy new gun day.. 👍👍 I like your new tune at the start of your video, nice one.. Have a great weekend.. 👍✌️👌
Hi Jeff, it was a pleasure meeting you today at Cambridge Gun Club. I have subscribed and look forward to watching more of your content. Regards, Charlie
Great video. BSA apparently use Goldstar to test these. I bought my BSA .22 Ultra CLX about 4 months ago and found them to be spot on. H&N s are good in mine as well. Top rifle I love the trigger over all of the other rifles I own (including those from the turks). Go for a pellet test I'd expect much improvements once you find the right one.
Looks to be a cracking find that one. Either looked after very well or not been shot a lot. Eaglevision to a specific adapter from 13mm dovetail to picatinny, or you can get small adapters that fit inside each scope mount from Amazon. I have both an R10 and a CLX, never had any issues with either of them.
I just bought a BSA R12 CLX TDR from pellpax in the black friday sale. paid £545 Bargain, i could not refuse. Rifle turned up and tbh that was like a new rifle in the case. who ever had it must of only used it a few times.
Jeff, great vlog, mate . You're a lucky man getting that rifle at that price early Christmas present 🎉 Yes, i think you should do a vlog on getting started with a new rifle. All the ins and outs also, no one really touches on the subject of storing your rifle at home what the Law states and what you allowed to do . Looking at the Gov website, it gets quite confusing . What is a safe method of storage out of harms way, etc. Have a great Christmas, and enjoy the new rifle .
Beautiful gun Jeff , I have the AAA on air limited edition in 177 and have had no issues at all and Love it. David , PS , Ratworks do a lovely shroud available in 2 sizes up to 30mm look like business .
Each to his own. I have a stubby silencer on my Ultra clx. The balance is perfect when hunting. Bring it up to your shoulder and it doesn't waver around like longer barreled rifles. At least that's what I've found. Nothing wrong with air arms BTW. I just think the ultra clx is overlooked.
Can recommend Eaglevision dovetail to piccatinny adaptors.Use them on the wife's S510 US. You can't bridge over the magazine so have used 2 separate adaptors and lined them up so that the slots line up as one rail
Won't believe it but as you were opening and checking the rifle you were mentioning see how it shot and may clean barrel and so on I thought it be good if you had done a video about get a new gun and going through the practice of checking it etc..before general shooting . Low and behold near the end say you may do a video on it , if we won't it. Yes fantastic idea as xmas is here and people may have brought or been brought a gun to go through the process. Like I read your mind
As Tommy pointed out about the stock ua-cam.com/video/rtZLeRnkag8/v-deo.htmlsi=YM_STev8ZYOjIe9W, that’s why I recommend Dave’s kit first thing I bought when I got mine rather than packing it out with something. Great video, enjoy the rifle 👍
BSA Not even close to the Build quality or accuracy of Weihrauch hence the price difference . Hw are superior to BSA in every department and I can speak from experience having owned two R10se rifles and HW 100 .Daystate, Brocock, Air arms all better than BSA in my opinion. Check out the reviews on BSA from the no nonsense channel sub 12 air guns.
@@shaunjones6049 I sold my S410 a couple of years ago. Accuracy is, or rather, should be, the number one priority over price or build quality for anyone who shoots live quarry. AA S410 is a brilliant, accurate rifle, but so is the Reximex Lyra K. For hunting, and purely on price, I would buy a “new” Lyra rather than a “new” Weihrauch every time. However, I bought 2nd hand, heavily used S410 for a little more than a friend paid for his K. Yes the build quality is better on the 410 but the K is every bit as accurate. All this stuff is of course purely subjective and a matter of opinion😊. Other manufacturers guns are also available!
I don't take much notice of negative reviewers. They always shout loudest whilst you rarely hear from the people happy with their purchase. It's also difficult to determine their expertise and negative experiences are often of their own making. If a company makes products that are that bad they will quickly go out of business, it's simple economics. Look around and take too much notice of negative reviews and you probably wouldn't buy from any number of air rifle manufacturers! I prefer to check things out for myself. If my BSA turns out to be a lemon I will provide full evidence in my forthcoming review.
I don't want to be unkind but the S410 is a way better rifle for hunting. The CLX stock has a to short front end for comfortable off hand shooting and could easy be 4 inches longer. Cheers!
Thanks for commenting. Well, I guess I'll have to see. Gun fit is a personal thing and I'm quite short so the length of pull feels okay to me. Yes, the S400 is a good hunting rifle, but mines .177 and I wanted a .22 rifle. The Ultra has a very good reputation and I wanted to try a BSA so I guess time will tell. All will be revealed in my future review I guess. 🙂👍
Hope it works out well, I know a couple of people who swear by their R10's (although they have had to do some tweaks)not being regulated is probably a bonus tbf..and if it's a good BSA barrel you'll have a great little gun..interesting video. 22 is my preferred calibre and my pcp is .177 so I'm in the market for a replacement 👍👍

Yet another BSA! Its basically the same gun as the R10, The people at BSA haven't changed with the times. Come on BSA do something to make a change to a very old style of gun. I brought one 20 years ago, nothing has changed. We are bored, wit the same thing all the time. I brought an FX DRS because it is something new. Come on BSA Great british company, think outside of the box. Then I will buy one!
Do you really think the DRS is something new? FX made a copy of the Snow Peak M60B. The BSA will still be going strong long after that FX has had many repairs.
Nearly made me cry watching you toss up between moderators, here in Australia Mr plod won't allow them. Even pest controllers have trouble getting them
Much better titles Jeff ….great content

Thanks James. I bought a 150mm one and it does leave clearance for the mag, but not a single shot loader. 👍
Also the eagle vision converter sits flat along the dovetail an mag still fits
Yes, I got the eaglevision converter. 👍
@ they do 2 one for BSA an standard. You probably know that though!

He didn’t buy an fx lol
If your fund’s allow I’d highly recommend a huma shroud over a moderator. Have one on my ultra CLX in .177 and it works v well mate
Thanks. Happy with just a mod for now. 🙂👍
You cant beat Y rac mods😊
We all have our favourites! 🙂👍
Great little gun but what exactly is the weight - “light” is mentioned several times but not what it actually weighs unscoped. Nice review.
Thanks. Mine weighs 2.7kg without the scope. 👍

I got in touch with him straightaway too. His stud is now fitted. 🙂👍
If you're going to use the gun for pesting, you should test the sound with a SPL meter set to dBC. Animals don't hear the way humans do.
Thanks for the tip. 👍
Is BSA on same level with Weihrauch?
Well that's a very subjective question. I would say they probably are, but I'm sure there are plenty who would disagree. 🙂👍
BSA aren't even on the same level as SMK.

I have one, love it, I am six foot two, it’s not too short for me. Shooting style is personal thing, Standing I use target style and have no problems.
I wasn’t aware people actually still purchased BSA guns? Considering the alternatives in the same price bracket are far superior 🤷♂️

Barrel needs cleaning and the pellets are letting you down when scoped in and all of the the pellets go.in the same hole
I hear you Stephen. It was just a quick first shoot. I will be setting the rifle up properly and will expect better results. 🙂👍
