My kids caught me texting and told me off. I was so ashamed of myself that now my bag goes in the boot, where I can't hear, see or reach it. It's not just young people.
Wow hats off to your children and for you listening,it just takes common sense JUST DON'T TEXT when driving, pull up if need be or throw your phone in the boot
@@jakestatefarm6705 as a fellow who plans to be a dad, if any child of mine catches me doing something stupid, and they tell me off for it? I will not be mad at them; they will know better when they get older.
@@jakestatefarm6705 If your stupid mistake could kill them and someone else, and land you in jail and leave your kids without a dad if they survive? No thank you. That would be a "this is the only time you can do that" sort of moment. Otherwise, do not. Not only that, but if they are conditioned into thinking that reckless behavior is normal? They could grow up to drive stupidly, and possibly kill someone, or be killed doing something stupid. Either way, it is a parent's worst nightmare! I certainly would not repeat what my dad did behind the wheel; cussed me out when I told him to put the phone down; there was a cop right there, and where I live, it is illegal to even TOUCH your phone while driving, not to mention a cop being there... then my mother grilled him about driving crazy when he would drive HER car (because guess who had to pay his tickets because it was her car?) and that it was a bad influence. Because of my experience, I do not have the "I am automatically right because I am the adult" mentality. Because there are too many situations where parents do not listen, because friendly reminder, this is not a teenager problem only; I nearly got in a wreck before because an ADULT MAN, about two decades older than myself swerved right in front of me, nearly hitting me! And guess what was in his face? His PHONE. Guy was lucky there were no cops nearby.
Thank u this video just saved my life I am guilty of texting and driving but never again will I do this ...sorry for all these families and thank you for saving my life
@@iden4371 let’s hope she doesn’t. some people do learn from their mistakes, & change. especially when those mistakes can lead to grave events like this. these videos can actually work on some people. 🤍
Why do I keep watching these? All I am doing is crying. My oldest daughter has a habit of texting. I have screamed, cried, begged her not to do it. If you don't care about yourself what about the family lives you may destroy? You are no better than a drunk driver. She knows she shouldn't be doing it but, I feel guilty for what I am sure is going to happen.
Reggie deciding to dedicate his life to speaking about the accident that he caused by texting and driving is the one good thing that came out of any of these stories in the way that these people’s lives have been altered.
I am watching this video to prepare my girls 3 girls that are not driving yet, to prepare them for the real world. Thank you for your testimony and reality on UA-cam. Powerful and stunning are these stories. My girls will watch this immediately as they come to the age of driving. God bless you all.
My heart breaks for X’s mother oh that touched my heart. Praying for you momma and that sweet sweet baby X he’s truly a blessing from God may he be with you and your family.
I'm so sorry about these people, Debbie ,her dog that left the earth.and for the poeple who have caused this should be in jail for the rest of their lives
Once again, here I am commenting. Debbie, I am so saddened to read of the loss of Charlie and the severe changes to your life. You do not deserve the life you have been left with. My heart grieves for you, your former life and for your family that has had to adjust to this tremendous change. The person (girl) that caused this should be held accountable financially. It sounds as though she is young. Fine. Allow her to live her life and pay a monthly stipend for the rest of HER life to pay for the damage to Debbie's life and to the lives of her family. There, Judge and Jury. May God have mercy on her soul
I have found that the drivers who text and drive think their brilliant drivers who are above the law and can react but don't realise how distracted they really are
I have never texted someone while I’m driving. I never will text, nor speak on my phone until I’m parked at home out of my car completely!! I have even yelled at other drivers to get off their cell phones, but 9 times out of 10, they do NOT get off their cell phones‼️‼️😡😡
My heart goes out to him and his mother. She is truly a great mother. Thank you for being such a great, loving, caring, sweet, strong, and thoughtful Mother. ❤️❤️💕💕💓💓💖💖👍✌️
Good for you for putting yourself out there and doing this. Your story is tragic. How this must have been for you to face let alone one day speaking publicly about it. Again, good for you! So sorry for all involved, all the family and friends. So sorry for the senseless loss of your loved ones. Just so very tragic all around.
He can still play in the special sports for handicapped kid teams my neighbors lil boy does ..so sorry for your family ...Your a very strong women prob the strongest women I have ever seen
Dear Reggie, I can't imagine what you have gone through or the feelings you have to live with every day. But I do want you to know, you CAN and HAVE made up for the loss of those 2 men by devoting your life to warning others. So many people have been touched by your story, as I have been, and made a commitment not to text n drive ever again. I am one of those people. This documentary really got to my heart and sense of reason. I never want to suffer the pain you all have who have texted while driving, causing horrendous injury and/or death. THANK YOU all for sharing your stories.
Story#3 Debbie: “there, there it’s alright” Me: 😫😭😫😭😫😭 Please don’t text and drive!!! I wrecked a new Jeep because I ignorantly looked at phone. Luckily and THANK GOD no one was injured!!!
Problem is...people hear what you say, and watch while you are telling them. Unfortunately, a large percentage of those who watch this, watch it for some ulterior motive. Be it for drivers ed as an assignment, be it part of getting your license back by taking classes, or Mom making their kids watch so they can say they taught them and now feel they've done the right thing. That's when "selective hearing" and "selective vision" come into the picture. They hear enough to pass and get by, they see enough to get their phones back,.whatever it may be! I believe that out of our citizens, an alarming majority will always put their wants in front of anyone else's needs. People need friends, children, family etc. But they WANT their "toys" even more. That means that MOST people who watch this will have forgotten most of the content within 48 hours. Which means they will only learn if this tragic events take their own and/or others family, friends, children, or themselves. I'm not at all trying to discourage anyone who is trying to bring this problem into the proper light. Keep it up bc at least SOME will listen or see the evidence that you are showing as plain as day. Remember, if these videos can stop even 5% of the number of past accidents per year..you ARE saving lives!!
@@fridagylterud9491 It's great that you are listening. It's not just you that could be killed. It could be your family members, friends, or a total stranger! The public service announcement I saw from Wilmington and AT&T before it started (on the original website) did the whole thing a massive disservice. I think the opening frame made a similar mistake. Let the story deliver the message. Don't TELL. Demonstrate the lesson through the power of the story, the visuals and the audio, and the recounting of the events. THAT's what stories do.
With a reptile collection, I live in fear of a power outage during cold weather that might wipe out my animals. What must it be like to fear for the life of your CHILD if you lose power?!
I was involved in a texting and driving car accident in March 2018, I grew up watching these commercials about the dangers of texting and driving. I never did it when I got my license. Never did I ever imagine that I would be involved in a texting and driving accident myself. When I had my accident the police said there was a phone involved and they confirm that the women was texting and driving. The women t- bone me at 75 miles an hour and my car was almost split in half. My pelvis was fractured in 3 places, my lower back was fractured and my left hip was fractured. My left knee was basically severely bruised and mangled. I have a small lump on the back of my knee to remember that accident. I wasn’t supposed to live but the hospital said I was absolute miracle. Due to the accident I have a result of health problems and here I am almost 25 years old. The accident happened when I was 22 years old, I was 2 months short of my 23rd Birthday. The accident wasn’t my fault, the other driver was texting and driving. Please listen to these people, don’t text and drive. You are not confident to do that. If you continue with this dangerous idea, that you think you can text and drive. You are extremely wrong. If you continue then your car will end up like mine. Please again Don’t Text And Drive
Aawww Bless. Have you thought about speaking at schools to get the message across to teenagers? You should think about it. Maybe something that you could do to help thousands of others all the while helping you feel good about yourself for doing so.
Theintern 747 That first few months after my accident, I was terminated from work. My boss fired me because she said I had sent in fraud paperwork. I sent in ever single paperwork she could look over. I was on governmental pay and food stamps. I had no employment for 7/12 months. When I finally found work it only lasted 4 months and I finally found a good job 1 year after my accident. I’ve been wanting to so badly to tell kids don’t text and drive.
Theintern 747 I think that’s why God didn’t taken me yet from that accident. He wanted me to spread awareness and the dangers about texting and driving. He knows not a lot of people listen.
About X : First of all he is a beautiful boy, a happy soul. Second, I will sincerely and deeply pray for strength for his mom and sister. They need it. They are both so brave, so admirable. I will pray they stay strong. Thirdly, it seems they didn't catch the woman who maimed him? If they did, she should be seving time in jail for the life she stopped (x) and the lives she changed forever( his mom and sister). She should be paying in jail and with her bank account for the rest of her natural life.
Truly heartbreaking stories every single one. I truly hope these families find their peace. What struck me also was the people who were the cause of so many peoples pain to speak out on what is clearly the most shameful day of their lives. It's never easy to admit when we have done wrong but to admit something so truly horrific for others to learn from well that shows a different level of character. Most people would take a cowards way out in this regard and never speak of it let alone admit to it. No winners here just a hope that the message is learned by someone before they get behind the wheel of a car.
Amazing documentary that should be part of drivers aid. What a shame that the teenage girl is hiding behind a lawyer instead of taking responsibility publicly. In my opinion killing someone while texting behind the wheel should be manslaughter.
I really dislike hearing how American's have to pay so much for health care. Ours is all free unless you want to go to a private hospital basically which is not a lot of difference between that and a public one. There would be NO cost at all to the person injured. Makes me mad that Debbie is badly injured and she has a bloody bill to deal with.

There is a quote out there that says, "Even a fool can be wise after the fact." You say that you could have put your phone away, that the text could have waited. People will continue to text and drive until the courts deal with them seriously. This is no different than the way drunk drivers are treated. The courts slap them on the wrist and send them on their way. Google "Emma Vieira". She's the teenager who ran over the woman in Vermont who couldn't be bothered to be interviewed for this video.
I used to txt and drive cause “It won’t happen to me “ Until my 12 year old daughter said Dad why would you risk my life? I said huh? She said you’ve always said you would always protect me? I said of course sweetheart! Then she said ok why did you lie to me? I said excuse me young lady! She said well you are txting and driving so??? In this case my daughter smarted me up! These people dont give a dam about texting ans driving until something bad happens. Then when they hurt or kill someone. They care but the sad thing about it, they probably still text and drivr. Maybe if someone doed this to them then maybe they would feel different
It's past time to treat idiotPhones and texting while driving for exactly what it is, driving while impaired. The law needs to stop slapping the wrist of people causing accidents because they're texting, drinking or drugging; they're all one and the same.
@@pauljordan4452 and if you feel like you will be tempted, shut the damned phone off! I have really bad impulse control; that comes with being on the spectrum. Be patient; I don't have all of the time in the world and I surely don't feel like risking my life or another's life on a stupid text.
Debbie’s story got me , that’s very disgusting that the teenage girl who hit her only got one month in jail ,5 months of home arrest , and 500 hours of community work , she should have been at the maximum sentence Attempted wreck less homicide 15 years in prison 10 years probation, 5 years of community service if I was her judge trust me the maximum would be maxed out not to mention additional 1 year for texting while operating a motor vehicle, 2 extra years for negligence so 17 years total in prison then her 10 years of probation,5 years for community service
Texting and driving needs to be punished as much as drinking and driving, especially when it results in someone else dying or someone else having severe crippling injuries.
Although all these stories are so tragic, I'm having a big problem watching them through my tears, I CAN'T imagine what the folks who had to actually endure this pain and suffering are going through. My heart however is so incredibly broken, by Debbie's story. The most HEINOUS ATROCIOUS SINGLE OCCURRENCE in the story, in Debbie's story, and her canine Angels story,... is the UNGODLY, and I will repeat that again so ALL hear me,... THE ABSOLUTELY UNGODLY. "SENTENCE" (if one can even call that a sentence, a punishment), that the PERPETRATOR received for taking Debbie's life as she knew it, and FOREVER ENDING THE LIFE OF HER TRUSTED CANINE COMPANION!! I thought a sentence was FASHIONED to PROTECT THE PUBLIC AND PUNISH THE OFFENDER.... SOOOOOOO JUST WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN THIS INSTANCE??? Something is VERY VERY EGREGIOUS IN THIS CASE!. As I stated, as someone on the outside looking in, if I am this INCENSED, I can't even BEGIN TO FATHOM how UNBELIEVABLY ANGRY...( I don't even think that the word "angry" describes the level of deep emotion your family must be ..Debbie being the most affected! This is a TRAVESTY. This is and I( hate to use this forthcoming word because, trust and believe, I don't throw this word around lightly.)..I find this sentence THIS PARTICULAR EXAMPLE of our justice system, and to be brutally honest the PERPETRATOR of this ATROCITY..., I find THIS ENTIRE CONGLOMERATION to be DEMONIC. ANGER 🤬 does not even BEGIN TO DESCRIBE WHAT I THINK AND FEEL ABOUT THIS ATROCITY.. DEMONIC DOES... Perhaps if I thought that the perpetrator possessed ANY MODICUM OF REMORSE.... EVEN A MINISCULE MOLECULE OF REMORSE perhaps I would feel differently. I can ALMOST GUARANTEE I would feel DIFFERENTLY. I'm watching these other stories in this documentary, like the gentleman involved in the tragedy with the Amish family, THAT IS GENUINE REMORSE!!!!. I feel his situation and this situation, are on equidistant ends of a spectrum. If I had to explain it to my children, I guess I would state the gentleman I watched that exhibited what I would actually consider HOLY REMORSE, would be in let's say Gloucester Massachusetts. The CREATURE that PERPETRATED the CRIME on Debbie . Northernmost Siberia,.... with a heart that matches the FRIGID TEMPERATURE. if in fact said PERPETRATOR has not had AFOREMENTIONED HEART REMOVED, which I have entertained as I find the CALLOUS, THOUGHTLESS, COWARDLY, SELFISH, SELF-ABSORBED SELF-CENTERED ACTIONS, in a word... HEARTLESS..... (So yes the creature may NOT possess a heart). I also feel EXTREMELY JUSTIFIED in IDENTIFYING SAID PERPETRATOR as a CREATURE. IT is MY BELIEF in the DEEPEST RECESSES of my SOUL that a HUMAN BEING, with a SOUL and a CONSCIENCE would not do something so UNCONSCIONABLE, as evidence by the actions post accident. You know what? That's WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT for the CREATURE labeling this an "ACCIDENT" . This was a DELIBERATE ACT. "CHOOSING TO text is a DELIBERATE ACT karen"🤨🙄💯...(Does everyone know what a "karen" is .???) I apologize for this rant. I have just been SO TOUCHED by the majority of these stories, and so OUTRAGED by the story involving Debbie. For Debbie and her family, PLEASE know you will NOW and FOREVER ALWAYS be in my PRAYERS, and I send you ALL MY LOVE on BEHALF of the ENTIRE STATE OF MICHIGAN 💯💯🙏💗💗💗🤍🤍🤍
People NEED to TURN CELL PHONES OFF BEFORE THEY GET INTO A VEHICLE. Did anyone in Debbie's family or Debbie ever use their Cell phone while operating a vehicle? They also learn a horrific lesson from the Driver that hit Debbie. When will people STOP using Cell phones in their vehicles ???????????? I understand why Debbie doesn't want anything to do with the Driver. I hope the community service the Drivers undertakes was caring for someone that was injured in a traffic accident (with similars injuries as Debbie has - including doing personal hygenine care).
My youngest son was in an accident very early on one morning in 2014 , it was pouring down rain and he was driving a large SUV and a man on a motorcycle was in the left turn lane beside my son, my son was on the inside lane and he was on the outside lane. They were both going when the light turned yellow, my son tried to stop but because it was raining his brakes locked up and slid right over the top of the motorcyclist and killed him instantly! My Son called me from the back of the police car, he was screaming and crying like I've never heard before! After the accident he was taken straight to police station for drug and alcohol testing. Of course he had no drugs or alcohol in his system. If he'd had any drugs or alcohol he would probably be sitting in jail today but he has to live with the fact that he killed a father of 4 and a husband, the only bread winner for his family. It tore my son to pieces. He had to take time off of work and try to come to terms with what happened! I spoke with him all day every day for a long time to try and get him to understand that it was an accident!!! Today he's doing good he's an Electrical Foreman. He's doing pretty good but still never forgets the man that died. People just be careful out there. He was not texting or anything. It was just a horrible accident!!!!
My Mother was T-Boned by a 21yo that had her 15yo sister in the car with her. It about killed my Mother, the force of the impact literally bent the entire front end of her car so bad that the car was in an almost perfect L shape. Had it been a nano second later she would of hit my Mother in her shoulder & it would of been instant death. This happened two days before Christmas, My Mother was on her way home from Church about a mile from her home & it was on a side street crossing a hi way at a light. Because there was the town cemetery right at a corner of the intersection there were 18 witnesses who had been visiting graves at the cemetery & very little traffic. All 18 witnesses said they saw the girls car coming so fast towards her Red Light & neither girls head was up the witnesses knew she wasn’t going to stop. My Mom has never had a wreck before or even a traffic ticket. The girl who hit Mom was texting for quite a distance & wasn’t looking up when she hit Mom, No Attempt at braking or swerving to avoid impact. This girl denied texting or talking on the phone & insisted she had the green light. Traffic cameras & her phone records along with witnesses obviously proved different. After watching this film I really wish she would of been like these folks and accepted responsibility & remorse, but she never did. The wreck happened almost 10yrs ago & the way it changed my Mothers life has been profound, she was unable to return to work & her balance has never been right, the pain was intense & frustration high. I would like this film shown in schools from Jr High thru College & make it a mandatory watch. Thank You For Making This Documentary & Blessings To All Involved. 🙏🏻
I don’t understand why these people aren’t doing long prison time. To late for tears after you put yourself before everyone on the planet and killed and maimed others. The victims don’t get a second chance, neither should the drivers. They should be banned from driving for life.
My husband and I was following a semi truck that was swerving all over the road. I thought maybe he was falling asleep, We finally got around him and found that he was texting! While driving a semi truck!
Its really bad when something like this happens. Very tragic . I’m 49 yrs old. I live in wv. Started driving off road for family at 15 yrs old. Soon as I could cross state lines with commercial goods I got my cdl’s and took off . I owned 5 coal trucks in 2000-2005. I know it was the guy textn’s fault. After watching this however and based on my experience there was another way to avoid the incident regarding the cowboy that drove that car in to the ditch killing the two occupants . The cowboy done mentioned that the texted had crossed the line several. Why is he right on his butt knowing he’s done crossed the line several. Now the cowboy has to see the vehicle coming. Know the risk at this point is extremely high of an accident. Why didn’t the cow fall back a little bit? He had to be on that texted Butt or real close. Just playn devils advocate here , was the cowboy having a little rage perhaps because the texted is screwing around in front of him. Hey, he is the only witness to it. Texted was textn. The other two are deceased. I was just thinkn about it thats all. Either rate it’s very tragic
Regarding the first story: There is more to this than just a car that ran a stop sign. Pedestrians cannot just blindly step out into the street assuming traffic is going to stop. Crosswalks are not impenetrable zones of safety. Yes, this was the driver's fault. However, there is an additional lesson, which is that pedestrians must always keep their eyes on traffic and not just assume that drivers are doing the correct thing. Super tragic. I'm sorry for Xavier's pain and suffering, and the struggle his family has endured.
UK it’s a driving ban anything from a year to 10 for drink driving and/or texting..also a fine and jail time. Living with the fact you’ve killed someone thru your own recklessness isn’t punishment enough..but not being able to get back in a car definitely is. Maybe laws should be changed in USA.
That is a bull crap sentence for almost taking someones life..she should have to do services with other people injured in accidents.. How does a woman hit by a driver only get 50,000$ from the insurance??! Her bills have gone over 1 MILLION DOLLARS AND SHE HAS LIFE LONG INJURIES THAT KEEP HER FROM WORKING AND CARING FOR HERSELF!! I hope there is more they can do they should pay her medical bills and give her money..I've never hears of an insurance company not paying the medical bills and giving a settlement
@@queenb2482 In the comment I made I was just talking about the girl who hit the lady and her dog...I think it's a complete crap that she only got 50,000$ when her medical bills are over a million $ and she cant work the rest of her life and needs complete care, and got no other form of settlement from the accident. But yeah all of the people who are recklessly driving, if it be texting, drinking, or whatever that cause an accident should serve jail time for killing anyone! I wasnt saying what he did wasnt wrong, I was just making a comment on that particular story.
I'm going to hang up now when my son or daughter call me. I'd rather hang up & have them pissed off at me than to not have them. I don't like it when the call while they're driving. They say it's when they have time. Well, I don't want to be listening while they hit or are hit by someone else texting or talking on the phone. I'm sad to hear all these stories. I was an EMT/Fighter for 14 years answering about 100 calls a year, 90% medicals and traffic collisions. I never wanted to pull my kids out of a car . A California Highway Patrol Officer I knew, went on scene to a collision. He was sent to the hospital for a report where the 4 fatalities were taken. He watched the kids being brought in not knowing his 16 year old son was among those killed. He didn't recognize him from his injuries , mud & dirt. The driver had been texting. I cannot nor do I want to even imagine this. Do you? Didn't think so. Show your kids these videos. I grew up with titles called Red Asphalt & Death on the Highway. This was in the late 1960's. They were gruesome & horrific. These aren't allowed to be shown today. Maybe they should be.
Nikki Nikki I could not agree more this son of a bitch to me still wants sympathy. He should be in jail for the rest of his life not out and about living his life and Debbie's story so heart breaking. The little boy that son of bitch is not in jail. WOW ! THIS DOCUMENTARY HIT ME HARD.....IVE NEVER HAD AN INCIDENT LIKE THIS OCCURE TO ME....AND I PRAY I NEVER DO.....SO SAD. SUCH A WAIST. IF U CAN WATCH THIS AND NOT BE AFFECTED ? U ARE ALREADY DEAD !
My friend does it all the time and she is 70,l won't go in her car anymore lve made it to 67 yrs overcame many challenges l will not let someone else's action take me out or be in a car where her carelessness kills an innocent person or family.
I have a friend who truly makes me furious & frightened, & I've made her pull over & gotten out of her car a couple of times, but that's not always an option. She not only texts while she drives, SHE HAS HER FONE IN HER LAP &PLAYS GAMES WHILE SHE DRIVES! & Almost worse, her driving is erratic cuz SHE HATES TO STOP AT LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS, SO SHE USES ALTERNATIVE ROUTES LIKE PARKING LOTS, DRIVEWAYS,& ALLY'S! Her driving is SO BAD,SO NERVE-WRACKING, that I STARTED GETTING CARSICK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE,&had to actually get medication prescribed for it, to handle being in her car!! For a long time, she was the only transportation I had,& I didn't have any other choice. I've tried countless times to try to get thru to her, even telling her, if she wants to risk her own life, that's her problem, but she has no right to put MY LIFE AT RISK when I'm in her car! SHE. WON'T. LISTEN. Not to me, not to her bf, not to her mother. She's convinced nothing will ever happen! Do you have ANY advice for dealing with someone like this?? Ironically, she's also a home health care nurse!! I'm at my wit's end, but terrified she's gonna kill herself or someone else one day... I'd like to not see that happen...
This is an incredibly sad incident. A Cellular Phone IS a dangerous drug, its addicting, a lethal weapon and it kills. The young culture today is one of follow the follower and conform to the norm, and an act becomes a habit when it no longer requires thought. That is the definition of texting/talking on the phone while driving. People young and old getting high on artificial intelligence, a very toxic cocktail. Peace be with you young man, and deep condolences to the family for their loss.
These stories of Texting while driving and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs needs to be part of getting a drivers license. Or in high schools. You can't blame your parents for your mistakes when your a minor. Yet, now, laws are changing. Parents are being blamed for their actions. Its about time!!
I don't know if I could be as forgiving to Reggie or Chandler as Donna was to Reggie, or as Matthew and Mary were. I mean Matthew and Mary's youngest was just 2 years old. My mother doesn't let herself get distracted while she's driving because here in Ontario the previous government made it illegal to drive without a hands-free device. But that doesn't deter people from being distracted by their phones.
Same here. Hands free law, but I see so many people just blatantly doing it. Hell, if the law was a strict priority and people got pulled over for it regularly, that revenue stream could be used to pay for education, health care, etc. I don't know the fine off hand, thought it was like $110. So, if that law was really secured, that would be a huge chunk of change.
The other day I eas driving ready to turn left and a lady was head down texting I was watching ,a truck in front her. All the sudden the breaks came on and missed hitting the truck by a foot or closer. I was just shaking my head. And posted on Facebook how texting and driving is as bad as drinking and driving. Don't be selfish, think of others safty.
I don’t get how people could be on their phones and drive at the same time. It only takes a second for anything to happen. I make it a habit to keep my phone in my purse and if I need the gps I connect it to my Bluetooth and focus on the road.
The 105 pound chocolate lab that passed away almost made me cry when she was sitting there talking about him wagging his tail..i kind if wish she would have left that part out made me click off this video and find something else to watch honestly
why was the Sentencing so poor?A Live has been destroyed, this is so heartbreaking, wishing the Victim all the Best.May the Person that's responsible will always be remembered of this horrible useless Accident
It’s sad that people have to be actually educated that it isn’t smart not to watch the road or have total control of yourself while operating a vehicle. I had a friend who said she would only text at a light. She may have been stopped, but she wasn’t paying attention. It doesn’t matter. More than a second can be too long sometimes.
In my state of NJ if you are stopped while texting and have a child in the vehicle it's considered endangering the welfare of a child and the cops do call CPS to take your children. It's not a game anymore

The little boy in the first story, such a sweet heart , I just wanna hug him. Bless that mother.

X with his sister made me absolutely melt... my heart breaks for that family...
Poor Debbie, I can’t believe that list of injuries she had. So sad.
I am watching this video to prepare my girls 3 girls that are not driving yet, to prepare them for the real world. Thank you for your testimony and reality on UA-cam. Powerful and stunning are these stories. My girls will watch this immediately as they come to the age of driving. God bless you all.

People who text to the people who are aware that at that time they are driving should also be held accountable.
In my opinion it’s the drivers fault alone. The whole point of sending a text is that people can get back to you when they have a chance.
Excellent documentary. Important message!
I know exactly where that teenager needs to spend all those hundreds of hours of community service. Helping Debbie every single day!

Keep your phone’s OFF as soon as you get behind the wheel of your car.
That way your not tempted to answer it while driving.
Very well done but will the ones who need to hear this really listen?
No
I'm listening.

What's really bad is that Cops not only text and drive but do computer work! Yet if they cause an accident they always try to blame the victim

What a shame that the teenage girl is hiding behind a lawyer instead of taking responsibility publicly.

I really dislike hearing how American's have to pay so much for health care. Debbie’s story got me , that’s very disgusting that the teenage girl who hit her only got one month in jail ,5 months of home arrest , and 500 hours of community work , she should have been at the maximum sentence
Attempted wreck less homicide 15 years in prison 10 years probation, 5 years of community service if I was her judge trust me the maximum would be maxed out not to mention additional 1 year for texting while operating a motor vehicle, 2 extra years for negligence so 17 years total in prison then her 10 years of probation,5 years for community service
Texting and driving needs to be punished as much as drinking and driving, especially when it results in someone else dying or someone else having severe crippling injuries.
My phone stays in my purse while I’m driving and I have a app that doesn’t slow me to answer
As I stated, as someone on the outside looking in, if I am this INCENSED, I can't even BEGIN TO FATHOM how
UNBELIEVABLY ANGRY...( I don't even think that the word "angry" describes the level of deep emotion your family must be ..Debbie being the most affected!
It brings me to tears.hearing all the uncalled for death's
How is that one guy not in jail for killing three people and why wasn't that person made to pay Debbie hosp bill????
O M G , that poor bloody horse. He didn't know what happened. People can know. I hope he didn't suffer too much.
30 days???? Really?????? Now that's crazy.

The little boy that son of bitch is not in jail. What in Lord's name is wrong with our judicial system but do not worry because the devil is waiting for those horrible people with his arms open wide.
Did he not get any time...makes no sense. He has remorse but he needed to be punished for killing 3 ppl man.
@@albinoblacksheep7826 when you text and drive it is deliberate homicide
@@albinoblacksheep7826 and I have more sense than to text and drive
I'd like to not see that happen...
don't ride with her... call the police on her..
How in the world are these people not in jail for vehicular manslaughter?
This is an incredibly sad incident. A Cellular Phone IS a dangerous drug, its addicting, a lethal weapon and it kills. The young culture today is one of follow the follower and conform to the norm, and an act becomes a habit when it no longer requires thought. That is the definition of texting/talking on the phone while driving. People young and old getting high on artificial intelligence, a very toxic cocktail. Peace be with you young man, and deep condolences to the family for their loss.
You use the word young, but older people are just as bad if not worse at times.
I make it a habit to keep my phone in my purse and if I need the gps I connect it to my Bluetooth and focus on the road.
great video....
The 105 pound chocolate lab that passed away almost made me cry when she was sitting there talking about him wagging his tail..i kind if wish she would have left that part out made me click off this video and find something else to watch honestly
honestly that made me more emotional than the actual people who died.... im a terrible person.... Poor doggo and those poor people....
Same! I cry more about animals dying than people. I am horrible!
Texting should automatically turn off when the car starts,
I agree with you 100%.
What if you need to text EMS because you're in a car with a drunk driver, or you've been kidnapped?
Wth are you talking about? I WAS talking about the drivers phone!
why was the Sentencing so poor?A Live has been destroyed, this is so heartbreaking, wishing the Victim all the Best.May the Person that's responsible will always be remembered of this horrible useless Accident
God bless the victims and the families
It’s sad that people have to be actually educated that it isn’t smart not to watch the road or have total control of yourself while operating a vehicle. I had a friend who said she would only text at a light. She may have been stopped, but she wasn’t paying attention. It doesn’t matter. More than a second can be too long sometimes.
In my state of NJ if you are stopped while texting and have a child in the vehicle it's considered endangering the welfare of a child and the cops do call CPS to take your children. It's not a game anymore
