I did the same. I cut down all my labs by half. I was at 177 in January, I changed my eating habits to veggies and lean meat, I added an hour walk a day and I’m at 150. God is good

I've been struggling with gluttony. But have been focused on turning to God. He has not let me down. In my weakness His grace is sufficient.

I haven't had any sugar since this video first came out. Thank you Dr Brown for giving me the actual key to success.

I'm still listening to your testimony, Dr. Brown. I pray my health journey is a blessing for me and others as well. I'm 50 pounds down but Osteoarthritis worsened with the loss. As you said about previous accidents, a near-death car accident I was in many years ago contributes to my difficulty. But I'm still learning ways to help my condition. I have really good days of being able to walk well and function well. And the weight loss is helping in other areas of my help. Now 153 pounds.

I am addicted to sugar and bread. I cannot give it up for long. I always keep coming back to it. I don’t know how to stop eating the wrong foods permanently.

Diet soda, lots of cold brew black coffee, chick pea rice, air fried Mexican squash and Asian eggplant, a lot of beans, tofu, high collagen protein like beef tendon and lift heavy weights, minimize the cardio time, walk when I play golf. This is how I reached my target weight. But I sometimes get lazy and have to get back on target. Food walk is not too different from faith walk, lol.

I love that people have to say that they are not medical doctors, yet most medical doctors get barely any training on nutrition.

It is the Wheat. Read Wheat Belly by Dr. Davis. Cut out wheat, sugar, most grains, chocolates, caffeine, msg, "natural flavors," "spices.". I do not condone veganism, nor do I condone vegetarianism. Animal products are beneficial. Meat, eggs, fish, dairy are highly nutritious and healing when properly prepared. Just like you must properly prepare nuts, seeds, legumes, and grains before consuming in order to reap the full benefits.

From the AskDrBrown Team: Dr. Brown and his wife Nancy follow the guidelines of Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Check out his book Eat to Live or his book The End of Dieting, or look for his material online.

I don't believe eating meat every day is a bad thing, maybe what is being eating with it or on it is bad but eating meat isn't bad for you in general.

Not understanding the problem with coffee . I drink it black and rely on it for my job as I fly a lot of red-eyes as a pilot. It has no calories or fat . It also helps with working out. It came up a few times in this episode

Please read the book Caffeine Blues for more info on coffee. If you began to juice your veggies your energy would naturally increase. Also try reading Wheat Belly.

I loved coffee. I loved chocolate. It is the psychoactive substances in both of these of foods which causes the problems: caffeine and theobromine. They are mind altering substances. The bible says we ought to be sober minded. Research what sorcery is in the greek. Research what mind altering substances do to you in the spirit. God Bless you in the name of Jesus!

What? This is not encouraging. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" GOD is so good and merciful. He wants us to prosper, and be in good health. I've been dealing with gout which brings severe pain. I can't imaging living with this every day. I have to keep praising GOD and Jesus, who paid a terrible price on the cross for each of us. I ask the Holy Spirit to remind me of these promises each day. I pray this for you too Dawn. God Bless you.

@@TBird5790 thank you for your kind words. I'm generally healthy and rarely get sick. Before 2020 I would've rushed to the Dr for antibiotics, but I no longer trust the medical industry. My time of illness was actually a time of drawing near to God. I also believe the chief reason Jesus died was for our holiness, and not necessarily our fleshly, physical happiness, comfort and prosperity. Otherwise, He would need to apologize to those unprosperous folks in Hebrews 11:36-40 as well as those persecuted Christians living in poverty, prisons, etc currently in communist countries. I've been poor and homeless and I've been rich and prosperous, and I can tell you that I'd much rather be poor with Christ than have all of my creature comfort needs met.

@@dd41283 Dawn, I understand what you are saying. My most precious times have been when I was alone, no money, just me, Jesus, and my guitar, on my knees thanking him for his love and forgiveness. I have also been learning to lean into this battle, and trust him. I have also been reading about the martyrs around the world who experience death, loss, loneliness and despair, while all the while never denying Christ. Thank you for your sharing.
