He actually he sang this first at the First Avenue Anniversary Show in April. Could have sang before but he also said it was the first time singing in front of audience and made everyone shut off their cell phones.
I liked the live version at The Currents better, it had more soul and honesty. This version, while still good, feels like he's kinda just going through the motions with it. His voice is still solid and it showcases its strength beautifully, but the emotion is a bit flatter, dunno how to explain, like he's trying too hard to make it emotional and in the end comes out as the opposite, like it lacks the tendernes of the other version. Of course, this was his first time singing this one live, so there's some nervousness coming through, but The Currents version is a definite improvement, at least for me.
