I like the fact that there is no obnoxious music playing in the background, unlike some videos on UA-cam. Also, the audio quality is really good, considering this was filmed outdoor. Very relaxing to watch.

Well first of all, on a scale of 1-10 I give this a 100!! Reason #1, have never seen anything like this to date on UA-cam. Reason #2, had a Very similar situation that happened to me regarding ye old snake, will building a garage. Lucky for me I was not bitten , mainly because of a cold snap we had , Mr. snake was a little sluggish. Well, after I had dispatched Mr.snake, about ten minutes later I had an idea, and you guessed it, Mr. snake wound up on the ole grill. To this day, my wife and a few of my friends have NEVER let me forget about this. After see this , it makes it all seem perfectly natural. Loved it. G.S.

I love how cool it is that Bob taught his dog to wait until he hears okay before he eats the food. How do you train your dog like that?
Check out The Dogfather. His training videos teach how to train your dog the same way a mother dog teaches and trains her puppies.
Classical conditioning. I can put a slice of bacon on my dog's paw and she won't eat it until I tell her to do so. Basically I used a clicker and treats, then expanded on it from there.
Beat the shit out of them till they mind you. Kick them at least twice a day to keep their respect.

Whenever I think about real life total badasses, I think of my good friend Bob up in Texas smoking a fine cigar next to a fresh cooked rattlesnake

Since you asked for cooking advice (who could give you survival advice?), I have two things to add. First, always cut with the flat surface of your veggies down. Cutting onions, for example, with the curved side down can lead to accidents because it's unstable. That goes with potatoes, carrots, etc. Anythng round should be cut so it has a flat side and then further cut with the flat side on the board.
Second, if you find your toothpicks burning during coooking, you can cut them short and pre-soak them in water or a flavorful liquid of your choice ahead of time.

I really appreciate the time you take to explain the process of dressing this snake and the amount of respect that you give it as well. I'm not big on trophies either and would prefer to use as much of the animal as I can that is within my knowledge and capabilities.

Being completely objective it wasn't equal. One died and was eaten, and the other might have needed a hospital but he's fine now.
@@Hawkido I heard that! I was bitten by a baby copperhead two or three years ago. The hospital kept me for a few days after shooting me up with six vials of CroFab antivenom on the first night. How much did those six vials of CroFab cost? $96,000! If I hadn't gotten a charity to settle that tab for me, I'd _still_ be paying off that debt, and who knows how long I'd be doing _that?_

Bob, you should dice up your veggies and sprinkle them inside the snake. It would make handling them easier. the tooth pic idea is about the best way to hold everything in place. I did this once with a bunch of boy scouts on the Mojave river rafting trip in California. They still talk about it 30 years later. What a great meal and adventure. Caught a 4' rattler and it was dinner for 5 scouts. Such a great memory. CB
