Fun Fact: that "boat repairman" in the Robert Meyer case (@17:30) is my dad, who helped Discovery with recruiting local casting when they shot this episode in my town over a decade ago. Also the guy who played Meyer was my middle school teacher.
Man, I've been waiting years for this channel to upload this episode. My dad had it recorded on an old VHS tape, but only his half of the episode. I'm so glad it's been preserved.

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. You actually think boat guy is guilty? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
That guy obviously got railroaded by some cops with a hard on to put him away. I can only hope that one day you are in a house that catches fire and has fatalities. Then, while distraught over the loss of your family some cops 'interview' you and in your distraught state you make some speculation or assumption that isn't 100% correct and they decide to use those statements to put you in prison for life. You know, that way you can personally see your heroes in action

On a somewhat related note; if my home had been burglarized, I'd make sure to leave the front porch light on, and at least one light on inside the house if I were to go out after dark. I do that anyway because I hate coming home to a dark house.

@@BrigitteGoodman You can't know if capital punishment does or does not prevent crime - because you can't measure crimes that may not have been committed due to the fear of it. But capital punishment rids the world of those who commit such atrocities that they do not deserve to live. Think of child torture and murder, and the recidivism rates (nearly 100 percent) of violent pedophiles. The amount of pedophiles and rapists who have been released and gone on to further commit horrific atrocities is extremely high. If they had been executed, so many more victims wouldn't have suffered. I question the morality of those who are against capital punishment.

Imagine this - you lose your family in an accident and the police begin to suspect you. Any sane person would get a lawyer at that point. The lawyer would advise against answering some of the questions - especially once it was clear that your relatives were dead and the questions would not be necessary to help save them. This is because someone under stress will often give details slightly differently each time they are asked and it can be used against you even if you are innocent. Obviously, in this case, later evidence showed that this man was guilty but you should not assume that someone is guilty just because he asks for a lawyer.

I just don't see drowning as being what he did. Now if he was paralyzed from the neck down and they found a gun in his hand I still believe they would have ruled COD suicide even if his hands physically could not move. But yes Karma. Very sad his own daughter And his wife. Dirt bag forsure!

He would already be basically basically dead from the overdose so he wouldn't even feel the effects of the drowning... I could see that happening too.... And yes absolutely no matter which way it went it would be ruled a suicide.... Cause that is true drowning alone is not a way that anybody choose to commit suicide....especially him...so I think you're right someone helped him in that water..and I can see drug OD then the push....
