my Father passed in Sept 2022. He served in Vietnam as well. I'm trying to make a flag case for him. Your vid is the best I've seen so far. Love your setup man thats great.

Beautiful case to honor your Dad. I made one of these last year for my Mother's flag. She and Dad served in WWII, and it was a true labor of love to make it for her flag.

So sorry for your loss. Good video. My father was in the Army from 1955 to 1973 and retired as a Master Sargent. We lost him a few years ago and my siblings were kind enough to give me his flag as I am also a veteran. I am getting tools together to make a flag case for it. It is currently in an inexpensive flag case. Thanks for the inspiration.

You kept saying the miter angle for the bottom was 67.5 degrees’ but you cut both pieces at 22.5 degrees. That angle equates to 45 degrees, not 67.5. That said, the case was beautiful

What is 90-67.5? The answer is 22.5 , however if you notice, I used a jig to hold the wood vertically and make the 22.5 cut become 67.5 degrees. If you cut this flat on a miter saw at 22.5 you will never get the steep angle of 67.5. 22.5 degrees is not a steep angle. I will make a future video explaining this and how to get these really steep angle on a miter saw also. A lot of people don’t know.
