    Auto pilot is not meant for “streets” yet. It’s meant for high ways.

    I put my M3 order the day they opened up for orders at a Tesla store. Two plus yrs waiting, since I want the dual motor option. Finally able to order it a couple of weeks ago and should be arriving in Sept. I picked the midnight silver. Very exited and if I needed to wait even more I wouldn't mind. That car is just fantastic.

    Had a reservation for an M3. Was originally expecting 35k + a couple options, maybe low 40s. When it came time to order, the cost was 57k (LR, premium, AP, paint). Then I finally had a chance to drive it. A very nice drive and car, but I distinctly felt like I was in a civic-class car, and I certainly can’t pay 57k for that.
    Instead, I bought a 2015 MS CPO for 59k. Best part, it’s a P85DL. That’s right, ludicrous for the price of a 3. I know , one is used and the other new. But it’s in great shape, and with these cars expected to last 200k+ miles, missing out on the first 40k miles is a great deal, to take 50% off the orig price of the car.
    The P85DL is awesome, I love driving it. The only downside is I get about 2.7 mi/kWh instead of the the 3’s 4+ mi/kWh. But that’s ok, still very low energy cost overall.

    I would have went with the Model S. The styling, the sunroof, and the hatchback are the deal winners. Model 3 is and looks too small.

    I have a classic 2013 85kw CPO for 2 years now. I’m more than happy with it and not planning on switching to the 3.

      Julio Gonzalez nice what about new battery tech in the 3 and new processor. Or auto pilot?

    • @mucall
      @mucall 6 років тому +1

      Electric tX well. In my opinion battery tech I think they are both very reliable of course new is better but I am very satisfied specially with Tesla service. Processor of course new model s and 3 are fastest but honestly is not to much of a difference, I had a p100d loaner it was awesome but when I got my car back I was happy with it. The bigger plus here is the autopilot that is amazing but I really enjoy my classic and don’t care much till the full autopilot is available.

    Prices on CPO's fluctuate, they go up and down. I'm not sure what the pattern is, perhaps long weekends when ppl do shopping? In any case, there are web sites out there such as ev-cpo.com/hunter/ that make following these things a breeze. I'm shopping now, and will probably spend as much on my CPO S as a new 3, but I have a large dog so the big back end is required :)

      I haven't yet test driven a Model 3, but my new-to-me 2015 Model S 85D is amazing! I only will miss the newer HW2/3 FSD tech and experiencing its evolution, but I'll get my wife a Model Y so I can experience it then.

    Don't know what you did, model 3 or model s, but putting Tesla aside for a moment, it is never a good financial decision to buy a new car. Depreciation on a new car is astronomical. Any new car will lose tons of value and sometimes half in the first 3 to 4 years. CPO cars from any manufacturer come with warranties and some CPO Tesla cars come with 4 year, 50,000 mile warranties. If you want more trunk space and you can get a CPO car with a 4yr/50,000 warranty, why on earth would you ever buy a new Model 3 for the same price? Because it's new? Because it has slightly better tech? No matter what people say below about buying new, everyone knows it's not a smart choice.

      Can you do a follow up video with the Model S, just to hear another opinion on how it drives after some time with it. Still go for the Model 3, and don’t hesitate.

      @Electric tX, hey man we got our silver Model 3 about 2 and a half weeks ago and just got it back from service repair yesterday. It was being repaired for 7 days for a quarter sized dent on the front drivers panel along with paint imperfections. During those 7 days we were given a P85 as a loaner but it was a 2013 model S. I have to say even though it was wicked fast, the model 3's technology along with superb stereo system, plush leather seats and overall refinements made it a sure winner.
      I couldn't wait to get back to our Model 3 and probably the most blaring reason was the Model S drives like a boat compared to the 3! I mean I guess if the S was the newer 2016+ without the horrible black nosecone I would have reconsidered but still, I'm not used to big cars because parking is such a pain even with all the tech. We're just used to compact cars and everywhere I go we get looks like it's no ones business! We love it!

    I considered the S over the M3. The S is a great car and even though I’m 65 the S is just too old and sedate for me. It’s not my character right now in my life. The M3 is sporty and I love it. It almost begs to be driven fast. When I drive the S fast I feel that I’m causing a scene. The M3 is more stealth, especially with the standard wheels.

      shepherdsknoll8 I just will miss the free supercharging. Now the model 3 will come with it if you get the performance model. I dont know what to do.

      Electric tX , we just completed a 3200 mile road trip, total price of electricity--$114. In our area, the power company, PG&E gives a special rate for EVs. I wouldn’t by an S over a M3 for that reason. If you can get the M3 Performance, that is the best of both and a real hot rod !
