      You are so right. Before computers, chess players invented moves. Today Grand Masters test moves with computers. And the computer "invents" the best move. Chess has gone from almost being an art to being a fight between two people and their ability to remember the chess moves their computer has calculated. Chess is still an amazing game but another kind of game compared to the games of Kasparov, Fisher, Morphy, Capablanca, Korchnoi, Karpov, Larsen, Tal. Without computers I doubt that now a day Grand Masters would be able to fight the before mentioned players

      Chess is not a physical game, nor is it a fast instinct game (although it does help) but what is more important is building knowledge and intuition on the moves, which means the longer you played chess, the better you will be at the game. • @sylver76
      @sylver76 2 роки тому +1

      @@missionpupa Look at the FIDE ratings and you'll see very few older players at the top. Chess players usually peak at 30-35 years old, which is not really different from physically demanding sports like MMA, boxing, Judo....
      Chess is a physically demanding game in that you have to keep going for hours and hours, and if you are not in good shape, if your back hurts, if you get low blood sugar, get sleepy.... you underperform, which at the top level means you get slaughtered. Guys like Kasparov and Anand who remain competitive in their later years are extremely rare, and even them... they were absurd monsters in their prime who now look quite human. Old Gary would crush the field, by a wide margin. Now, he can still win the occasional game, but he is lucky if he doesn't get a last place finish in a tourney.
