This is so different . I want to make a hat. You are an excellent teacher. Went slow enough so we could follow. I am 93 years of age and been crocheting for over 70 years off an on and never saw this design. Thank you.
I’ve made three of these beanies with plans to make more. One for a gift exchange and then two for my twin boys !!❤ and they really are everyone’s favorite! We all have larger heads and the fit is perfect! Thanks Carrie !!! Everyone thinks I bought them instead of made them .
I’ve been crocheting for over a year now and ALWAYS struggled with the original method of crocheting a hat, this pattern however, beautiful and easy to do! Loveeee the outcome, thank you so much!!
I had a massive migraine while I was searching for my next hat prject...listening to her and the soft background music took my mind off the pain...I was amazed by this beautiful easy design. At first glance I thought it was going to be a cable stitch...I still have to learn the cable stitch. NEW SUBSCRIBER!🥲
I never, in all my years of crochet, thought of braiding an item this way. You are so clever. Thank you for sharing this with us. Best to you Carrie. :)
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial, I made this for my grandma for Christmas out of a soft velvet yarn and it turned out beautiful :) btw for anyone looking I used number 5 weight bulky yarn instead of 4 and did 45 rows on the ribbed section instead of 55. Worked perfectly
Just finished making this hat - it has turned out really well. I like the fact that the hat looks textured but is smooth on the inside. I did do one more row of decreases before I cinched the top together. Thank you.
Hi Carrie , I have learned so much from your tutorials. I've made 9 sweaters , hats , and will be trying a cardigan. I'd only made blankets , scarfs ,and easy hats . Your amazing , your tutorials are very easy and slower than others . Wanted to say thank you, I never thought I could make anything except a square . You inspire me
Thanks so much. This is the first beanie I've made that's not just one stitch the whole way through and also the first beanie I've made that is worked from the bottom up. Not for lack of trying either.. Yours is the first pattern that wasn't too complicated but so beautiful it looks complicated. I will definitely be making more of these as gifts.
Just finished this hat in purple and it’s so amazing!!! I have fur puffs coming tomorrow and it will be fully completed. Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I never felt frustrated, you explained every step perfectly. So excited!
Fantastic tutorial! I’m still somewhat of a beginner and I loved how slowly and clearly you showed exactly what to do. I love the hat and will enjoy wearing it. Thank you!
Just finished this beanie in burgundy and I love the way it came out, I did have to make it a few stitches longer and I added 2 rows, it came out perfect 👍🏻💕 Thank you for the pattern! 🤗
I jus finished making a beanie for myself with this design. I made only one change - instead of 55 stitches i took 85 stitches. It turned out to be amazing. Thank you so much for explaining the design in simple and easy way. This was my first beanie 🙏
I can’t tell you how much I love this Beanie!♥️ I get so excited every time I see that you have a new tutorial...please don’t ever stop teaching us how to create these beautiful designs of yours!! And thank you for always zooming in so the stitch placement is clear. So very helpful!♥️
THANK YOU!! I was trying to follow this pattern on another post and after 4 hours of rewinding over and over again I gave up. Your video showing the stitch placement in every row was precise and clear. It was soooooo easy. I made hats for the Salvation Army and the kids are going to love this pattern and colors. Thank you!!!!

Such a great hat. I keep coming back to it. I’ve made 5 of these hats in the last year. Just finished one in olive green with a matching pom. Thank you! ❤
Wow when I saw you do the first 5 dc and then chain I was so amazed.. I did a blanket like this before so I imagine that’s how this will go too just pulling loops through each other I always wondered how crochet cables were made! so awesome to see it done as a hat👏 thank you
Also, just to let everyone who tried this pattern know, this will be a juvenile size beanie/hat once completed with the number of stitches and gauges of hooks she is using. I have a very small head and this brim is very snug on even me so fair warning. Very nice and easy and workable pattern though ☺️
Just made this (with a few minor changes to fit my preferences--always a sucker for the extra slouch) super easy and so cute!! Thanks for the tutorial!
