I have never felt so confident in making a "complicated" hat in my life! You have such a way with explaining that I cannot wait to get started! Thank you for this tutorial ♡ I'm still getting use to reading patterns so this is golden!
I had started several hat patterns today and stopped after just a few rows and put them aside. Found your tutorial here and wham, I'm already a third of the way through. A great and fluid pattern, well described and easy to follow. Incredibly grateful for the free written version also. Thanks very much
The hdc slip stickers tricky at first but yr video explains it so well. It's amazing how each stich leave a totally different pattern. Can't wait to wear this beautiful hat! Thx
This is the best hat pattern I have tried and I just love the tip for going through both loops for the edge. It makes it look so neat and tidy. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the MK.I’m not novice in crocheting, but without your detailed explanations I would be lost. Happy , that I had the yarn waiting for me.Off white with a little sparkle. Can’t wait to finish the project.
I love your hats but for some of us who have trouble understanding patterns, math & lots of things…😂, I really wish you would do your hat tutorials for an average adult size… pretty please…🙏🏼 I love many of your hat patterns but afraid of spending all day on one & having to frog it out & start over. This hat is beautiful & I’d love to make several as gifts for Christmas❣️ Bless you sweetheart for taking time to teach us, I’m a great grandma that needs all the help I can get…🤣
This pattern is gorgeous - I am in the UK and have been making these hats for my 3 little granddaughters in 3 different shades of a colour changing yarn - James C Brett 'Aurora' DK and I found a set of 6 4in snap-on poms with all the same colours as the yarns I have used (a Christmas miracle)! The hats have colourful stripes from top to bottom and are adorable. Look forward to discovering more of your delightful patterns - thank you Tiffany!
Lovely pattern! I finished the hat yesterday using Pound of Love in Charcoal. I opted not to use the pom pom, and the hat looks fabulous without one, too! Thank you for sharing this tutorial and the written instructions. Having access to the measurement chart is super helpful!
This a beautiful pattern and it looks more complicated than it actually is ❤ i made it for my relatives and i love it soo much i am making one for myself ❤
I kept getting lost in the video, so these are where the rows are in case someone else is like me haha :) First Row (Half-Double Slip - Back Loop): 3:02 Brim and Stitch counts: 4:08 Second Row (Brim): 5:21 Second Row (Berry): 7:20 Second Row (Slip - Back Loop): 9:20 Third Row (Regular Half-Double - Both Loops): 10:36 Fourth Row (Half-Double - Front Loop): 13:43 Fifth Row (Single - Back Loop): 16:46 Repeat
Thank you for the great and easy to follow tutorial! I could not have done this without your clear and concise instructions 💝 it’s such a beautiful hat!! Thanks so much!!
I've got a few rows left and I'm so excited to finish it up! The detail on the hat is so cute and intricate looking even though it's HDC for the most part, it's all about placement! Finding the last slip stitch at the end of the row (top) was the most difficult part of this pattern 🤣 Edit: typo
Me encantó esta receta y seguro que la voy a hacer! Me gustaría más recetas así sin harina de trigo también me gustarían recetas con harina de almendras!
Thank you so much for this clear, beginner friendly tutorial! I am an absolute beginner, having just picked up a crochet needle for the first time last week, and I finished the hat today. I learned a lot along the way and now have a cute end product. It’s more of a slouchy fit - the body above the brim isn’t fitted so if I made this again maybe I’d increase tension on the body section to make it tighter?
I love, love, love this pattern!! It’s so beautiful and have received so many compliments on my hat! I used a chunkier yarn which made the “berries” pop even more! It’s perfect! I was wondering if you had a pattern for a matching scarf???
Thank goodness you had this video tutorial because I have been trying to follow the instructions on the blog and I think there is a mistake in the wording for row 2. I am making mine with the same number of stitches that you used in this video. The instructions for a row 2 say to do the half double slip stitch under both loops for the first one, and then in the back loops for the next 15, which would be a total of 16 stitches. When I do this, the count for my berry section is off. In the UA-cam tutorial you say 15 stitches total -which would make the count for the rest of the hat work. Let me know if this is crazy talk!! Haha
Just wondering, ahem ... if you would be so kind to tell me, do you measure the final width of the hat at the brim or middle section of the hat to decide when you are done. 🙏 Thank you.
I love this pattern!! Thank you for sharing! All my little nephews and nieces will be getting one for Christmas. New subscriber here. Your tutorial is by far the best!!❤
I am making the large adult version. Using your Size Chart is a bit challenging for me to figure out how long to make the beginning chain. If the head circumference is 23in., do I chain enough for the width, which would be 18-24in? Thanks for any help! 😌
This is so darling! Thank you for your very easy instructions! Do you have the instructions and yarn you used for the daisy on the hat you show on the blog? I looked, but didn't see it. Maybe I missed it?
Is there something that I am doing wrong that makes the half double slip stitch so difficult? It is so hard to pull through the last 2 loops. It takes forever to finish those parts. Anyone else? Any tips?
@@traceyifversen6109 not true since I’ve been following a bunch of patterns from multiple creators. Every pattern gives size ranges with the stitch count included. Even following this woman’s guess of 52 stitches produced a giant hat that I have to frog and I have extremely tight tension.
I go on measurements not number of chains. Once I have the number of chains for the length I need, I write that down. The yarn and the tension affect the length differently for everyone. Measure around your head for the circumference then multiply that by .9 and make your hat that wide. A lady put out a you Tube video on how to make a hat with any size yarn. I think it’s called how to knit or crochet a hat without a pattern. I used that information and came to this video.
Row 1
Step 1- 3:00 (chain for hat height)
Row 2
Step 2:- 3:13 (sleep stitch first 5)
Step 3:- 3:48 one half double crochet
Step 4:- 4:34 marking
Row 3
Step 5 :- 5:06 ribbing
Step 6:- 7:11 berry stitch
Step 7 :- 9:20 sleep stitch
Row 4
Step 8:- 10:00 sleep stitch
Step 9:- 10:35 regular half dc
Step 10:- 12:08 ribbing
Row 5
Step 11 :- repeat ribbing previous step
Step 12 :- 13:34 bottom front loop half dc
Step 13 :- 15:34 sleep stitch
Row 6
Step 14:- 16:06 sleep stitch
Step 15 :- 16:37 backloop single crochet
Step 16:- 17:44 ribbing
Row 7
Step 17:- 18:29 ribbing
Step 18:- 18:56 Berry stitch
Repeat row 3 to row 6 to gain required circumference of hat

This pattern is so beautiful *immediately orders pompoms* 😅

How difficult would it be to make a scarf out of the 4-row repeat? I really like this pattern!!

Thanks for any help! 😌
The chain will be the height of the hat, not the brim. Just chain it as tall as you want the hat to be.
I want to do it now!!! How many grams do I have to buy for adult size (Bernat yarns)?
This is so darling! Thank you for your very easy instructions! Do you have the instructions and yarn you used for the daisy on the hat you show on the blog? I looked, but didn't see it. Maybe I missed it?
I live the pattern. What kind of yarn have you used.
Is there something that I am doing wrong that makes the half double slip stitch so difficult? It is so hard to pull through the last 2 loops. It takes forever to finish those parts. Anyone else? Any tips?
Could I do this pattern with the fun fridge also ???
help!! the back-loop slip stitches are getting really tight no matter how I adjust my tension. is this normal?
After im finished the row with berries my work becomes curved.. What am i doing wrong
Maybe your tension is looser on the berry row. If it's like a rainbow usually that can be the reason.
Can you add the pattern in the info section for us slower crocheters ,please? :D😅
How’re you saying there is a size chart on your website for the pattern when it’s really a “measure and figure it out yourself” chart
Everyone's head is a different size most crochet video's just give you an estimate.
@@traceyifversen6109 not true since I’ve been following a bunch of patterns from multiple creators. Every pattern gives size ranges with the stitch count included. Even following this woman’s guess of 52 stitches produced a giant hat that I have to frog and I have extremely tight tension.
I crochet loosely so I go by the inches not the stitches it's easier to me.
I believe I only chained 46 for the adult woman
Ok so I did 46, 4" brim was 14 stitches and 25 left in the middle then the 5 slip stitches at the top. Hope it helps make it smaller.
I'm using a 4 and size H hook . When I chain, 40 my length is 10 in. You say it should be 8.5 in. What an i doing wrong

Secondly the height mentioned is quite big . One should reduce the height atleast 5 to 8 stitches
I wish I saw this before I almost finished the hat lol
