I've been doing this build long time ago since before the wd ult pure damage and everyone literally sleep on this build.
I've stopped spamming wd since its just not that good anymore as a laner or wave pusher.
Back then w deal damage you still could farm a bit and q wasn't nerfed this hard.
And the most important thing is back then you could make holy locket by disassembling arcane boot ( since it need energy booster instead of diadem ) and get that max w locket on min 15 where noone still have burst damage.
I remember many game I have locket mekans and bait enemy team for 6 second out of position
Its still good if you could manage early game with strong laner but the inability to have other option when the lane is bad is just not worth it
For solo queue i think veno is the strongest support now.
But if you insist want to try this build here's what to mind when to go heal build :
1. Sometimes maledict lvl 2 is enough if enemy dont have hard tank / heal . You can up your heal if you have gold to rush locket or up stun for farm if you behind
2. Enemy have many aoe damage but 0 burst damage. Hero like ember , qop, veno, zeus, underlord can almost be nulified by wd. meanwhile hero like sniper, storm, tiny, lina doesn't give a fuck about your heal. Please just rush normal save item in this situation
3. Enemy have can cancel your ult pretty easily , if enemy have something like clock, silencer, zeus, or enough number to reach your position its just not cost efficient to keep building that sweet bkb agh even though its very tempting.
4. You have no tank. Sometimes your pos 3 will pick something like wr , mirana, or smth stupid OR both your 1 and 2 picking range hero while your pos 3 pick hard initiator like magnus, mars, enigma. ITS YOUR JOB to play as bait and open the map Long enough for your pos 3 to initiate. shard and fs is your best friend if this is your role.

Why veno? Each time I go with him I feel that I am taking space that should be taken by cores. And if I show up on a lane I get bursted. What build would you go?
I feel like this build is very risky in a low mmr pub because you're very much depending on your team to play in a way that utilizes the healing you provide. If they don't you're essentially playing 4 levels and 2K gold behind
I totally agree with you... this build is definitely legit but also i wouldn't recommend. You need a team or lineup that plays high tempo instead of farming 30mins straight in order to utilize this healing from WD. Low mmr tends to be more farmy and doesn't fight even with advantage.

Any ideas why the amount of healing done shown in the Score tab differs from the one on the Breakdown tab?
This seems like a great build for when you have a weak frontline or they have a ton of physical damage. Usually into magic heavy teams, the Glimmer cape is enough for me to survive, but Physical heavy teams I have to tough it out until I can get Shard + Aeon Disk to survive. This is more gold efficient, and the only downside is not being able to farm basically at all without upgraded Q.
The E and vessel is the most busted combo early game
I did that build before it was kool, and I call it "The Poor Man's Radiance"
The wd heal doesn't damage anymore right?
