I love how this channel has dedicated a big chunk to OG. The most epic dota 2 story came from this team, and the most epic call of ti8 came from Ceb. Legends 💕
To put it further in perspective, the Open Qualifiers -> Regional Qualifier -> Group Stage was *over* *5680+* *teams* . OG was just *one* of those teams. They played a fuckload of matches and at any time was at most 1 or 2 games from instant elimination. They *earned* that win like none other.
I agree. But I also think all those qualifier games (along with their bootcamps etc) polished their playstyle in the short amount of time that lead to TI8.
I remember watching them on the qualifier finals they destroyed their opponent, I told myself "this team is really good" but even still did not expect them to win TI.
People should appreciate topson's invoker micro and macro control during the fight before the call. He drops ice wall preventing the enemy from walking out of range, hi hit the overseer ancient to root the closest hero canceling any split reaction and blinking high ground to force them to follow him in a smaller area within the 100aoe talent, he even made the enemy have to focus him rather than following ceb's axe. So even though many may not notice his micro it was what made that call possible.
TI8 Game 4 is the best game played in any competitive gaming event ever. Two AMAZING teams trading blows, and ODPixel commenting that fateful game for the biggest prize pool ever at it's time. I remember watching that game and just the roller coaster of emotions and amazing plays that just blew your mind while you were experiencing it. I still get chills watching Cebs amazing call.

It's not just how clutch Ceb was, but also how the team played probably one of the craziest matches I've seen. It's the same game that Ana PL died due to overextension and he sold 2 items to have buyback. PSG LGD forced Ana buyback and Ana used it to defend the base to drag the game on. If not for Ana selling the 2 items before his PL died, they would've lost the game. And in this video at 12:38, Jerax relocate Ana to get out of that fight, and yet we see Jerax pretty much relaxed, even when it's a game that decides if they will have game 5 or will PSG LGD be the TI8 champions. He said "Ana, you wanna relo(cate) into their base? memes?" At 14:31, we saw how Ana was fighting a 1v5 after notail's Chen got taken out almost immediately. The team quickly threw everything they got to make sure Ana was alive, as well as Ceb pretty much calculate the best time he should call. On the map, Ceb was just trying to find an opening that would not only save Ana, but also get Ana to benefit out of that teamfight so they can still fight on afterwards. If not for team's ability to play so well, even if Ceb were to call at that time, I don't think all these legendary plays would've mattered. A team effort, and OG definitely proved everyone how well they can play, even if the world casted them out. I've rewatched all OG games in 2019 and all the games they did in the upper bracket in 2018, extremely impressed, as well as a well-deserved 2x TI Champion team. If LoL had more comeback potential I think their tournaments would be way bigger than they already are. Most of the time it feels like there isn't a battle going on and all of a sudden there is one big team fight and that decides the game. In dota you only get that feeling after 40 minutes into the game.
It's because Dota 2 has a much higher skill ceiling and more mechanics. There is no mastering Dota 2 and there is no unstoppable formula. In LoL, once Riot fucks the meta, you run that meta and hamfist your way to victory. It then comes down to just reaction speed which is why Faker was so unbeatable for so long. Also, the stakes are so much unbelievably higher in Dota 2. The scale is ten times larger. The League World Championship is more comparable to a Dota 2 Major than The International. OG's underdog story add drama into the underdog story ( captain of the team leave the team + 1 extra, devastated because it was a leave with no notice and from a long time close/best friend, had to search for 2 members to fill in within mere 3 months before TI - I would say it is tough to get everyone in sync in time, play thru the qualifiers - not by dpc point currently ) . You didnt get the same hype or tear eye from Team Spirit winning, heck OG's story is the first that make anyone (even those not into Dota) who watch their Truesights and Against All Odds to cry, including their 2nd win where w33ha cried.
@@nasrinordin8083 Team Spirit's win is not common. Sure there wasn't much drama, aside from them being treated unfairly in terms of accommodation at Romania, but their achievement should not be understated.
@@KWL_01 I'm not disregarding their achievement. What I'm disagreeing with you is on story part since you said Team Spirit, the best underdog story. OG's story has more plus point than Team Spirit. Both are great teams either way.
@@nasrinordin8083 The best story is always been added with dramatic flair.
I remember when me and my buds were watching this live and we started a “Holy shit! Holy shit!” Chant
The only truesight that i can watch over nd over again. Most epic game of dota.
Even though i watched this seen over and over it still gives me goosebumps🤯
Underrated in game 5: Notail's Furion kept Somnus' Kunkka occupied in the Roshan pit clash.
CEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEBBBBBBBBBB!!!! HE GETS THE CALL OF HIS LIFETIME!
Never gets old
Breakdown the split second god-like decision making of ana for that buy-back.
Any dota fan knows it's not the draft that makes a match, it's how you work with it, a game of dota can be a 0-50 stomp until one bad fight gets you throned.
"How dare they pick Axe in front of the Tusk King" and ''Why do people keep picking Monkey mid'' are 2 most cursed sentences in Dota 2 lore. :D
Finally someone break down this masterpiece moment, thanks
Dude, great job. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
👌🏼
say it with me: CEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB
I find it shocking that this channel has not made a video of each player that was part of the Team Spirit TI win.
Ana 300 iq play started all
Ceb's call can't be happened without that
Every clutch give me goosebumps every time
Power of friendship
The details shared in this video and this series are phenomenal and what makes this channel awesome.
This still give me goosebumps Everytime I'm watching it.
Ti8 is so iconic and no doubt the best tournament ever in esports that after ti9 and ti10 people are still talking about the cinderella story of OG!
OG vs PSG.LGD the best DOTA game ever made that define what is flowers and friendship can do against all odds.
OG 4 EVER.
Genuinly wonder if they'd have lost track of Ceb if it was any other hero than PL.
That hero creates so much chaos
I've never played DOTA but i have done OW and a little LOL in the past but my god! what a call, what a play, what a save! i first saw this about a year ago and when i rewatch it i cant help but scream CEEEEEEEEB!
