I've always been curious why these young ones take babies. I figure they want to be off playing or something! That having a little baby would be a lot to handle.

The juveniles have recently been weened but they still yearn for the comfort of their mothers embrace so they become jealous of the new baby in the family. They steal the baby away but discover that holding the infant gives them comfort which is why they often do not want to give the infant back to its mom.
Calvin is very lucky to have the love and care of chiko ,other wise he woud have died from starving and no one to hold him.Chiko is a sweetheart. God bless her

He was very fortunate to have been taken in by another macaque in the first place, and then to constantly throw incessant tantrums and scream at the top of his lungs every time he couldn't get his way, attack Celine and search constantly after Cassie told him not to. All while disobeying and ripping Cassie's fur out every time she disciplined him. He did every bit of this to himself and deserved it with the way he behaved. He always wanted to act like he was starving, well, the universe showed him what actual starvation is. Calvin got his karma in the end. He purposely went out of his way to ensure both Cassie and Celine were miserable every second of the day that he wasn't nursing because he wanted to nurse. He did every bit of it to himself. I bet he regrets all those tantrums and all that screaming, huh? He always had enough energy to throw tantrums and search all day long when he wasn't pecking Celine in the head or sucking on her face or tearing at her fur. I've never seen a starved monkey have that much energy. Cassie allowed him to nurse so freely that he became aggressive and demanding and got himself abandoned for the second time in a month. He would have been abandoned for a third time had Chico been able to get him off of her. She didn't want him anymore either. Calvin set the record for being abandoned the most in the shortest amount of time, all due to his own actions.

He was lucky to have been picked up by a mother who actually allowed him to nurse as he pleased until he became aggressive and demanding and was abandoned for the second time in a month. I'm sure he knows why he was abandoned again. He's the only monkey who screamed like that. He has all this time to look at all the other babies and see none of them behave the way he did, he was constantly disciplined for it and continued to do it so, I'm certain he knows why he's unable to go to back Cassie ever again. This is the time macaques learn the most and the fastest. He knows exactly what he did and he knows Cassie is not his mother and he knew that the whole time. Wild animals distinguish one another by scent. He has a completely different scent than Cassie and Celine who share the same scent. Calvin's of wild animal, though stupid, I'm sure he could tell the difference between their smells. He brought it all upon himself. All he had to do was lay back and take what he was given without demanding more and attacking her biological baby. He couldn't do that. H wanted to scream and fight Cassie the entire way so she dropped him like the loser he is

This was Calvin's foster sister who was taking care of him because his foster mom wouldn't take him back. Chiko had no way to feed him so the foster sister was loving Calvin because her sister wouldn't. Casi the sister got too worn out by taking care of two babies.

However, Christy (Calvin’s biological mother) is a lower ranking female. Chiko, although she’s still a juvenile, is Cesca’s offspring. Cesca is a higher ranking female. A higher ranking female can’t give birth to a low ranking female. The hierarchy just doesn’t work like that. So, NO. Chiko is NOT Calvin’s “sister.” CSI has no idea what they’re talking about and you shouldn’t believe everything you’re told. Do your own research and check what’s true.. Chikos behavior with Calvin isn’t special or unique. Kidnapping is a very typical macaque behavior and Chiko hasn’t done anything that millions of other monkeys haven’t done too. She LOVED HIM!!! She was probably the ONLY monkey that did love and care about him. She is small and young so she wasn't able to do thing easy or do things the way the adult mom can because she's not much bigger than Calvin is. But if you go back and watch the other video with chiko and Calvin you will see that SO MANY TIMES that he was crying or whistling for help chiko would show up each time that she was close enough to hear him cry... She would see Casi beating him up to discipline him and chiko would try to get him away from Casi and then Casi would go after chiko... She was never trying to hurt him or starve him, she was just trying to love him and care for him even though she had no milk and no way to get him anything for food she was at least attempting to love him. She is the only one that ever even tried to groom him, other than one time that actually chikos mom groomed him... But if she had a way to get him milk or some kind of nutrition she would have... But at least he was loved by at least ONE. Of the monkeys in his troop. His real mom abandoned him and NEVER.. NOT EVEN ONE TIME looked for him... Casi took him out of instinct just to get a baby monkey away from the humans, but she never wanted to be stuck keeping him, so she got resentful and then was not so good to him.. but don't talk bad about chiko with him, she is the one that loved him... He just wanted Casi because he knew she had milk. Even as bad as she was discipline him he just kept trying...

She had the baby but had no clue baby had fallen with after birth and all from the tree.. That was calvin. After a big show of looking at the mother with no clue what was happening.. Calvin's real mom is christie, a low ranking female, She is young and a first-time mother, She is also a member of the troop, She gave birth to calvin and discarded him right after, She has never tried to get calvin back, She's had plenty of opportunities, The vo's have tried to give calvin back to her multiple times she will not even acknowledge him, She does not want him, He was abandoned.

This was Calvin's foster sister who was taking care of him because his foster mom wouldn't take him back. Chiko had no way to feed him so the foster sister was loving Calvin because her sister wouldn't. Casi the sister got too worn out by taking care of two babies.

A higher ranking female can’t give birth to a low ranking female. The hierarchy just doesn’t work like that. So, NO. Chiko is NOT Calvin’s “sister.” CSI has no idea what they’re talking about and you shouldn’t believe everything you’re told. Do your own research and check what’s true.. Chikos behavior with Calvin isn’t special or unique. Kidnapping is a very typical macaque behavior and Chiko hasn’t done anything that millions of other monkeys haven’t done too. She LOVED HIM!!! She was probably the ONLY monkey that did love and care about him. She is small and young so she wasn't able to do thing easy or do things the way the adult mom can because she's not much bigger than Calvin is. But if you go back and watch the other video with chiko and Calvin you will see that SO MANY TIMES that he was crying or whistling for help chiko would show up each time that she was close enough to hear him cry... She would see Casi beating him up to discipline him and chiko would try to get him away from Casi and then Casi would go after chiko... She was never trying to hurt him or starve him, she was just trying to love him and care for him even though she had no milk and no way to get him anything for food she was at least attempting to love him. She is the only one that ever even tried to groom him, other than one time that actually chikos mom groomed him... But if she had a way to get him milk or some kind of nutrition she would have... But at least he was loved by at least ONE. Of the monkeys in his troop. His real mom abandoned him and NEVER.. NOT EVEN ONE TIME looked for him... Casi took him out of instinct just to get a baby monkey away from the humans, but she never wanted to be stuck keeping him, so she got resentful and then was not so good to him.. but don't talk bad about chiko with him, she is the one that loved him... He just wanted Casi because he knew she had milk. Even as bad as she was discipline him he just kept trying...

She had the baby but had no clue baby had fallen with after birth and all from the tree.. That was calvin. After a big show of looking at the mother with no clue what was happening.. Tjen looking at baby for awhile battling and crying on the ground they.. The dumb dumbs. Go to baby assist him a bit and hsnd him over to cruella de ville who already has Celine.. Slightly older... She immediately rejects him and abuses him but wont allow anyone human or monkey to remove him from her. She plays the stomach and back jerking attigude with calvin all the time... Calvin's real mom is christie, a low ranking female, She is young and a first-time mother, She is also a member of the troop, She gave birth to calvin and discarded him right after, She has never tried to get calvin back, She's had plenty of opportunities, The vo's have tried to give calvin back to her multiple times she will not even acknowledge him, She does not want him, He was abandoned.
