Where great many designers of todays era only depend on software, CHIP FOOSE is a man who shows that the true weapon of a designer is not the software, but a piece of paper and a set of brilliant colors and his bare hands. That's what sets him apart from most of the designers in the world. Love it, huge respect for Mr.Foose.
You know what I love about Chip, that he always has dirt, paint or metal under his fingernails. True car designer AND builder.

The only car designer who can estimate the time effort and work needed to reimagine a car including chassis engine transmission suspension painting pin stripping and machine time to cut billet alloys for the wheels because he can turn pictures into real life driving dream boats master designer master builder what a gift to the world. Thanks for posting this for those who could never afford to see a master do his craft(s).

Watching Chip work is like getting to watch Beethoven compose. It's just magical. His shading strokes are so laser precise. And the bonkers part is...then he walks out to the garage and *makes* the thing. We are lucky to be able to witness this combination of skills, and have a platform like Discovery and UA-cam to witness it for so many years.

Any chance of the Foose ever doing a little show of what products he uses ?
What pencils and types of filling for sketching, what brand of color spencils ?
But more important even what markers, alcohol based ? What brand ? Why those ?
We also often see use of brushes, what kind, why those, what paints ?
And, why that combo ? Is it because they are closely color matched ? Or more that they can blend, or exactly the opposite.
That kind of stuff.
A run through of what is used and why, a bit of how to use them or how he/you do ?
What are your most important tips and tricks ?
I have been doing some car drawings lately, but nothing like this, plus, i am working off of photos.
With crappy photos with many trees and buildings being reflected i have great trouble making a nice but also correct reflection. If reflections are way off, it shows immediately and destroys the work.
So a little more in dpeth than the 1967 Chevy “C/28” Project - Part 1/8 video, and a show of tools ?
I don't consider myself an expert or anything, but I believe he uses exclusively Chartpak "AD" Markers. I have several colors. They can be found online in sets. They are a one sided, chisel tip, solvent based marker. They are a very "wet" marker so paper has to be chosen carefully. I've seen him use either vellum or "Graphics 360" paper for such renderings. Hope that gives a little insight.

I truly pray one day I can find you and get ahold of you to do my 2002Monte Carlo. She has almost 300000 miles on her...you would not believe the stories she has bee. Through....I can only keep wishing. I love your work so much. I have had 16 spinal surgeries s and my Monte has gotten me to more dr appointment than I wish to think about. Love your work. You are truly amazingly talented!!!
