I think he missed with godrick, dancing divine lion, and consort radahn. Dancing lions music in particular goes so unbelievably hard towards the end of his phase 2 ost. And then he ended Consort radahn’s music right before it got to my personal favorite part of his music.
I’d personally have to disagree with Maliketh’s. I would say in his track the choir with a high pitch cello leading into the drop with a hard to notice, but declining bell chime into a more desperate outcry of choir and heavy instruments then followed by a slow percussion is the best part. Not so say the last desperate tone isn’t as good, I love that part myself.
@@imabigblackduck im not very versed in music like this but the repeating «strings?» over and over again really puts into perspective the desperation of maliketh. And the end of the song dosent really resolve normally it feels wrong how the song ends and it makes it so much better.
@@Apple-mq5by I love that the aspect of the ending same as to why I love the whole track for Maliketh. Waning yet holy chanting settling in his internal struggle of failure to prevent the night of the black knives to once again returning to his shaken yet former Black Blade in one last act of loyalty yet disparity. There’s no wrong with enjoying the last section of his theme. I myself am very fond of it as well. The section I spoke above, for me I say it’s the best. I’ll explain why I like it more. It really highlights Maliketh’s loyal struggle with being Marika’s shadow, with the hard to hear (I do wish it was more notable as it adds an extra layer) church bell signifying a coming imminent horrific end to what he protects so dear is solidifying. Edit: within the buildup you do notice the reoccurring bell, right at 3:38-3:39 (Beast Clergyman OST) is where you’ll really want to focus to hear what would be the last bell.
Fortissax is still one of the most epic fights in the game for me and the soundtrack is like 80% of the reason why. That second phase music really sounds like you're fighting the mightiest ancient dragon, like he's breaking through the corruption and lethargy that he's been trapped in for untold amounts of time to pierce the heavens with his lightning. Just unfortunate few if any people experience that masterpiece of music, because either A. They never even go and see the boss or B. By the time they do fight him they're overleveled and the fight is over too quickly.
So cool to see how the second school of Viena and atonalism affected the ost of video games, so cool to see also how they use modality to give other colours, a real masterpiece of an ost
I think different phases that are different enough should be able to get more than one spot in the list. Godfrey's and Hoarah Loux's themes are very distinct from one another, so are Rykard's and the God-Devouring Serpent's and Radagon's and Elden Beast's
The rule is simple: I took the boss's ost list, and for each theme I chose the potential "best part". that's it. The problem with separating certain themes because "they're really two different songs" is that how do you define that a theme is different enough? It's totally subjective and goes against the whole idea of compilation.
@@mrhollow8980 Yeah, that's fair. I'd define them as being different characters or personas from what they were in the previous phase, but I can see there could be problems to it
17:45 The avatar was by far the saddest. A dying tree, sick of the death in the shadow lands, given an offer by Miquella for a world of peace, yet couldn’t hold on long enough to have the chance to see it. It fights to see a better future.
Choosing the second phase OST of Promised Consort is really cool but I must say that the epicness of first phase is UNMATCHED by any other OST in the game. The whole remix of Starscourge theme is too damn epic to not be included imo. Except that I think the list is spot on.
Idk, I vastly prefer the second phase. Don't get me wrong, the first phase is great, and definitely a top tenner all on its own, but the pure angelic quality of the second phase, which feels like a prayer, is just unparalleled for me.
I think Radagon's theme should be on here on its own just because of how good it is. On top of that, where is "Those United in Common Cause," it is easily one of the best tracks in Shadow of the Erdtree and perhaps the entire game! I know it's just a big NPC brawl, but it's still a major boss and it's a huge miss not to have such a compelling track on this list!
Radagon and the elden beast are both good, a choice must be made, personally I prefer the elden beast part, and Those United in Common Cause is incredible it's true, but is unfortunately not a boss fight.
@@mrhollow8980 Fair enough with the Radagon theme, though I still think both can be included just because of how different they are (and both parts are amazing and iconic). Why isn't the Leda and allies fight a boss fight to you though? Is it purely mechanical reasoning because it's an invasion instead of a boss fog door? I feel like the definition of "boss" can be rather nebulous in Elden Ring, and surely the NPC showdown still counts as one for all intents and purposes, it's literally the penultimate conflict in the story before Miquella and Radahn, so narratively it's definitely a boss fight. I can understand not counting it due to the mechanics of it being an invasion though, fair enough, but it is de facto still a boss fight for sure, with a unique and brilliant musical piece/theme of its own.
the problem with separating the radagon and elden beast themes is, why wouldn't i also do it with godfrey/hoarah loux , radahn promis consort/ consort of miquella or with the 3 phases of scadutree avatar and other contested ones. it's getting a bit complicated and goes against the principle of "best part" per ost. i preferred to keep it simple and clear. there will be some disappointed people, that's inevitable and that's okay. As for the fight against the leda and its allies, same thing, as you say, the definition of "boss" is nebulous, and that's why it's not on the list.
@@mrhollow8980 That's fair, thank you for the explanation, I appreciate it! I was wondering if there was some kind of internal coding marker for "boss themes" that the Leda and allies fight didn't have or something, but I suppose it really is just a bit more open to interpretation what exactly defines a "boss fight" in Elden Ring because of its open world nature as well.
The best part of the Promised Consort is by far the 10 seconds of the high pitch heroic choirs within half of the first phase. Those notes alone are the best musical sequence in the entirety of Elden Ring, and for instance of the song itself. Also the ones that made said theme to be my favourite. If I remember correctly the fragment was from 1:19 to 1:39. Believe me, hear that segment.
I just can’t get over Fortissax’s OST. There’s just a commanding power about it, like it demands your attention. I just wish it wasn’t tied to a boss with such a small health bar.
Radagon, godskin duo, hoarah loux, godrick, malenia and mohg all have OSTs on par with them, this doesn't make them bad, the themes are just that good for me
I agree with almost all but one, I believe Promised Consort Radahn’s OST is peak right after your pick but the song itself is tremendous so it was hard to pick to begin with. Also, using Vyke for the final battle is peak cinema
I understand that the fight against Leda's group doesn't qualify as being a boss fight, but for the sake of a music compilation, I feel as though Those United in Common Cause should still be counted. In my opinion, the best part of that theme would probably be 2:28 - 3:00 on that track. Great video, though!
mohg’s best part for me is the bit about 40 seconds in where it goes from high to low pitched chanting for a few seconds (it’s hard to explain just listen to the track)
Erdtree Avatar is badly underrated. Both phases sound incredible. In a previous Soulsborne game, that track would've been worthy of any mainline boss. Also, 90% of every OST is the best part.
For godrick the grafted, there is another at 4 minutes into the song. And if you don't want your ears to be hurt by the sheer prowess and epicness of that section of the song, then there's a lesser version of that 3 minutes into the song.
If you ever do more of these with other From games, would love to see the text a bit lower so we can admire the great fights and outfit choices! Would love to see this with bloodborne or ds3 😊
Elden Ring ost is so underrated, It's my favorite souls album. This video should have been 3 hours long lol There are 2 tracks missing, one of them titled "The Accursed"; It's probably often forgotten because it's not THAT good (on purpose). It plays for The Fell Twins and for the Wormface boss, second one is Bloody Fingers, (mostly used for pvp) used for Esgar, Priest of Blood.

BRO DIDNT MISS WITH A SINGLE ONE. ESPECIALY MALIKETH
I love love love the desperation in the last stretch of the song, so emotional and powerful
Dancing Lion goes SO HARD first time I heard it my mouth actually dropped
Why is Bayle so epic??
You timed his music perfectly
Fortissax is still one of the most epic fights in the game for me and the soundtrack is like 80% of the reason why. That second phase music really sounds like you're fighting the mightiest ancient dragon, like he's breaking through the corruption and lethargy that he's been trapped in for untold amounts of time to pierce the heavens with his lightning.
Just unfortunate few if any people experience that masterpiece of music, because either A. They never even go and see the boss or B. By the time they do fight him they're overleveled and the fight is over too quickly.
19:17 that transicion was cool af
22:50 ngl I think the intro to the Elden Beast is almost unbeatable in terms of just how pretty it sounds and looks, but that's just my opinion
i appreciate the lore accurate gameplay in the background
Thank you for making this!
Bro really gave us all the Elden Ring boss osts, but only the best part
So cool to see how the second school of Viena and atonalism affected the ost of video games, so cool to see also how they use modality to give other colours, a real masterpiece of an ost
Dude for years I would look at the playlist or soundtracks doing this so this is really convenient.
I really appreciate the effort that went into this. From the fonts to the outfits; top notch work
I think different phases that are different enough should be able to get more than one spot in the list.
I'd define them as being different characters or personas from what they were in the previous phase, but I can see there could be problems to it
Man all these osts are amazing, but for me Fortissax, Midra and Radagon are just different, three of the best musics ever composed.
literally every other fromsoft game that exists has better music
@@Slave_KnightGaelNot even an exaggeration, yes they do indeed.
The way these songs instill panic and fear into me. 😂 Great Video!!!!
i love the minute of base serpent messmers theme
For me Mogh Lord of Blade theme is at its peak at the beggining, its so omminous and gets me going every single time
17:45
The avatar was by far the saddest. A dying tree, sick of the death in the shadow lands, given an offer by Miquella for a world of peace, yet couldn’t hold on long enough to have the chance to see it.
It fights to see a better future.
bayle's ost best part is the whole thing
cool video, you nailed most of the best parts imo!
the scenes are so well timed to the beat
Choosing the second phase OST of Promised Consort is really cool but I must say that the epicness of first phase is UNMATCHED by any other OST in the game. The whole remix of Starscourge theme is too damn epic to not be included imo.
Except that I think the list is spot on.
Idk, I vastly prefer the second phase. Don't get me wrong, the first phase is great, and definitely a top tenner all on its own, but the pure angelic quality of the second phase, which feels like a prayer, is just unparalleled for me.
Omg, this is so amazing, seeing the whole game in just 20 minutes is something else
Nice job synching the editing for the dragon with the ost :)
underrated channel ong, have a like and a sub
Might as well have put the whole dancing lion theme lol
Erdtree Avatar and Scadutree Avatar having the same best part is so cool
THAT MUSIC SYNC AT FUCKING BAYLE SHOOKETH ME TO MY SOUL WTF
The putrescent knight's theme has to be the most underrated theme in the entire ost
Those United In Common Cause I think is more underrated, so underrated it didn't even make the video 😢.
I love how promised consort is just starscourge without the lore debuffs.
Erdtree knight have the same motiff as Godfrey I just realised
this game looks great with an increased fov
As for the fight against the leda and its allies, same thing,
as you say, the definition of "boss" is nebulous, and that's why it's not on the list.
Yes! Another Those United In Common Cause lover. It became my personal favourite from the entire OST.
nah the start of fire giants track when you are running up to him is the best part
Yeah it really makes you feel bad for him losing all of his friends and realize what a sad situation he is in (until he starts roll spamming)
His whole theme is the best part bro
cutting consorts music off that early is criminal 😭
Lords apparition is underrated asf
The best part of the Promised Consort is by far the 10 seconds of the high pitch heroic choirs within half of the first phase. Those notes alone are the best musical sequence in the entirety of Elden Ring, and for instance of the song itself. Also the ones that made said theme to be my favourite. If I remember correctly the fragment was from 1:19 to 1:39. Believe me, hear that segment.
this is some really nice gameplay
I just can’t get over Fortissax’s OST. There’s just a commanding power about it, like it demands your attention. I just wish it wasn’t tied to a boss with such a small health bar.
tbh imo messmer midra and promised consort OSTs clear every main game OST combined lol.
edit: Radabeast theme still my fav tho
Radagon, godskin duo, hoarah loux, godrick, malenia and mohg all have OSTs on par with them, this doesn't make them bad, the themes are just that good for me
But I think my favorite overall might be rellana's. It sounds magical
People are really sleeping on Those United In Common Cause, which is personally my favourite, its overtaken Final Battle.
@@TheTrueWheatley exactly, so epic theme during npcs dialogue
Just banger after banger after banger. Yuka and the crew were cooking
I agree with almost all but one,
I believe Promised Consort Radahn’s OST is peak right after your pick but the song itself is tremendous so it was hard to pick to begin with.
Also, using Vyke for the final battle is peak cinema
Godskin is the best one in my opinion, it's so cool!!
Underrated as hell
Bayle is the violin part in the second phase when he spit laser
Mesmer is the cuoir from the first phase
Old Warrios always gives me Dark Souls 2 vibes. I love it
I understand that the fight against Leda's group doesn't qualify as being a boss fight, but for the sake of a music compilation, I feel as though Those United in Common Cause should still be counted. In my opinion, the best part of that theme would probably be 2:28 - 3:00 on that track.
Great video, though!
I love that the Metyr fight your just getting hit by the laser because no one knows how to dodge it me included
it was the first time I'd seen this attack, so I was very surprised, but happy at the same time, because the move is magnificent.
Aww hell nah, you actually cut Promised Consort right as it was getting good 😭😭😭
They really stepped it up with the DLC
"the "best part" isn't worth much without the rest of the music"
to me it does since we all have heard those music in game
sorry, mb , but I think that listening to a lot of music in a row reduces the emotional build-up.
Hi, this, rocks, awesome, work, have a marvefullous day
I personally like the first 20 seconds of the consort Radahn and Bayle better, but only by a little bit. The rest I wholeheartedly agree with
mohg’s best part for me is the bit about 40 seconds in where it goes from high to low pitched chanting for a few seconds (it’s hard to explain just listen to the track)
Your doing God's work out here😭
Despite Godskin duo being [Very censored], theme is godlike
Erdtree Avatar is badly underrated. Both phases sound incredible. In a previous Soulsborne game, that track would've been worthy of any mainline boss.
Also, 90% of every OST is the best part.
12:58 the syncs were spot on
For godrick the grafted, there is another at 4 minutes into the song.
And if you don't want your ears to be hurt by the sheer prowess and epicness of that section of the song, then there's a lesser version of that 3 minutes into the song.
it would be so sick if someone made this; got rid of the pause between the songs; and then made transitions, playlist material fs
I like the part where it goes "OOOOHHH AHHHH AAH OOH"
If you ever do more of these with other From games, would love to see the text a bit lower so we can admire the great fights and outfit choices! Would love to see this with bloodborne or ds3 😊
Beautiful
Old Warriors is super underrated imo
Wow, I never realized just how good Omen Illusion sounds. A great song for an unfortunately forgettable fight
Not using the 2nd phase music for Godfrey as the best part is crazy in my eyes
I know its not technically a boss, but Those United in Common Cause really should have been on this list
19:23 Best part of Bayle's theme
Don't let bro cook with the radahn themes again 😭🙏
Elden Ring ost is so underrated, It's my favorite souls album. This video should have been 3 hours long lol
There are 2 tracks missing, one of them titled "The Accursed"; It's probably often forgotten because it's not THAT good (on purpose). It plays for The Fell Twins and for the Wormface boss, second one is Bloody Fingers, (mostly used for pvp) used for Esgar, Priest of Blood.
its true, in reality i didn't forget, i thought it was used for pvp. it's not a big loss fortunately
@@mrhollow8980 No, but they are still cool
I need Elden Ring with that field of view
