Using a spanish bought t rex bullpup in 177 originally at 24J....with lots of testing and tuning of different combinations to get to uk spec, now tuned to 140-150 shots per fill at approx 1 bar/1 shot with consistent velocities within a few fps all the way from top to bottom, with a constant power in mid 11s fpe on all 7 or 8 tested pellets and weights (including no loss with 13 and 16 grain slugs..'very accurate'). This gun is excellent VFM if you know how to fettle!

There is also a simple mod/fix to the suppressor to bring the report down by 5-6 DB!

Thank you Andy, I already own a .177 hatsan factor, which has served me very well since I purchased it, but I've always wanted a more portable .22 to compliment it and your review helped narrow my choices down nicely. I finally managed to purchase one of these and while it is a "budget gun" I am delighted with the results!
I tested mine out with JSB Exact's and after zeroing the provided scope (for now) in four shots (That was LUCKY!), I got to see the true delights of owning a bullpup first hand!
I personally found the action was louder than the actual shot, so I'm happy with the built in shroud but the testing? Just wow! The T-Rex performed brilliantly and consistently, so much so, I was hitting the same hole on the target repeatedly, (and destroyed my target block in the process (oops)😊).
I don't know what ft/lb power mine is but if it's that effective, I don't think I'll be having any issues with pest control in the future!

I also have one in 22. I really did want the 177 also but Krale was out of stock at the time. Through Krale it is the Snowpeak T-Rex. I am thoroughly impressed with it. So, I see a 177 in my future. I think that a 25 is to much for this platform. I am a lefty and do not have any issue's with the magazine. Great work as always Andy!

10:25 pulling the sidelever into the next week .... I love that ...
I agree with you, it's not really a T-Rex base. One of the thing I notice with T-Rex (rifle) is that the regulated air chamber/plenum is quite big and therefore it can easily to shoot 13 grain slug @ 905 fps out of the box. We don't have 12 ft.lbs regulation in Indonesia.

      @gannetpontjowinoto6733 6 місяців тому

@@galihcst depends ... for hunting squirrel say 50m or less then bullpup would be nice ..
but for longer range say 70-100m birds hunting I thing the rifle shooting slug would be more effective.
For target/bench shooting, you'll be better served with rifle.

Hi Andy, another super review thank you for the time and effort you always put into these videos. I own several Chinese airguns and am very much aware of their benefits and failings. That being said you mentioned the cocking lever was smooth, but on the video it sounded like a shopping trolley full of baked bean tins being pushed along a cobbled street. No doubt its accuracy would be improved by a calm day and a damn good clean of the barrel, they do seem to import some strange substances in these barrels that could probably have been used to stick the ceramic tiles onto the space shuttle had NASA known about it. Keep it up

Missus got me one for Birthday. nice and light. cocking lever can get a bit catchy/sticky now and again. Tried lead free pellets (Tin/Zinc) NEVER AGAIN!! Noticed they kept getting jammed in the Mag. seems they were so hard that didn't have any room for play like a soft lead pellet. so got an OEM mag with the rifle and ordered an additional mag, but this one was a 3-D made one, not quite the same, only holds 8 pellets , so watch out for that, also a bit cheap and nasty. Admit I Like the gun, even the un-named scope performs for plinking. Save the lead free pellets for single loading bolt action rifles. 300 pellets out of a full charge , I don't think so!!

Good fair review and a nice little rifle if you want a budget bullpup.
I would be interested in a followup video if the regulator can be tweaked to up the power, say to 11.8ftlbs ... ish.
Also, being a left handed shooter (more accurately left eyed, the right is weaker) the daft magazine sticking out😢😢😢 from one side rules it out, that needs addressing, maybe with a cheek rest to built up to smooth the profile.
    Cheers Andy 👍

Don't rule it out just because you're left handed - i am too, and i own a FX Impact mk2 in 177 - it has a 39 shot magazine sticking out of the right of the cheek rest the size of a dinner plate but doesn't get in the way whatsoever. Try before you buy. 👍

Great review, but I have two problems with this platform.
1 - The barrel isn't threaded as standard, even with the "shroud". Consumer options is everything now. You could find someone to thread the barrel if possible, depending on barrel construct.
2 - The butt pad looks to be non-adjustable and butt would be an apt term, as it looks like a dog errrm "alleviating its bowels in the local park"...
    🤷🏻‍♂️
Looking forward to the next review... 👍🏻

This is a budget gun, the VAST majority of long firearms don't come with adjustable stocks, especially the high end guns.
Don't expect every option under the sun, on an inexpensive gun.
It's cheap, asking for all the features, AND higher quality, is unrealistic.
Don't buy a Yugo and then complain that a Bugatti is better.
They make many guns with what you want. They just cost more.
Damn good first gun, or a great beater gun to keep in the truck.

      @benballard-ho7tu 6 місяців тому +1

That's a bugbear of mine also. You can put all the safety on it in the world, but the manufacturers putting the gauge on the business end is ridiculous and shows a lack of overall design thought. The shooter can be as safe as possible but that overrides everything.
What if you've adjusted the trigger down to as light as possible because that's how you like it? If you then put it down with a bit of a heavy clunk after taking a shot at a pest (as you sometimes can do with adrenaline involved), it may well cause a negligent discharge right into your face.
I know us shooters in the UK are highly regulated already, but imo manufacturers should be regulated as to where you're NOT allowed to put the manometer, if you want to get your product to mass market.

      It's dry but chilly here.

I wonder how much they cost from Ali express? The only drawback is you have to buy a container full 😁

So it's more Rex the mutt then T-rex. And it's really not ambidextrous because we lefties will end with the magazine in our face which clearly shows in the video.

Seems a bit inefficient on air but with a reg to should be able to shoot down 100bar and by my maths thats like 120-140 shots. Dont know why the sellers need to make such bold claims as 300 shots. Math aint mathing on that one

think I said this about the big brother I am not keen on the green highlighting but its going to be one of those things love or hate. All these guns are great for field work this obviously would be great for hide or confided spaces. guess used in these cases the green areas dont matter lol.

why not do a video showing people /how many feet pound for a pellet to travel /20/30/50 metres /then how many feet pounds to dispatch various vermin eg rat /rabbit /crow / .
then people could add the distance foot pound/ of pellet travel distance/ to vermin being dispatched foot pound /for instance say a rabbit is 4 foot pounds then at 30 metres 3 foot pound pellet travel makes 7 foot pounds of power is needed.
a graph for foot pound of distance and a graph for vermin being controlled would be a help.
this would help a lot of people properly dispatch vermin and choose their equipment and pellets wisely .

Great review again. Tbh, its quite ugly. I prefer my np02 which looks better and with a walnut stock under £300. What do others think.
Again good review andy. Look forward to them.

Sold my NP-02 to buy one of these a few weeks ago, it feels very comfortable to use, very accurate initially but not tested it past 30 yards as yet. So much lighter than the NP-02 ( i plan to use it with my NV setup). Just wish it was quieter out of the box, i have sent mine to have a custom shroud making to quieten it down as much as possible for night work. The NP-02 was great but if this can be made quieter i don't think i will miss it.

Sorry, but a thumbs-down on this review.
    - Not sure how this gun can be considered ambidextrous with the magazine sticking out on the right side.
    - A shot count check would have been good given the excessive claim on the box and the vertical stringing of the test shots (along with your comment that it might have needed more air).
    - And maybe let us know more about the manufacturer: It is called a Remington but has a Snowpeak air gauge. Made in China? VectorAir's web site doesn't mention Snowpeak or China in their description of this gun.

Despite the pressure fall it performed better than "not bad" I think. It was at 40m as well. It looks like a lightweight, well balanced rifle to hold and fire consistently.
    This is, I think, admirable.

Thank you Andy, I already own a .177 hatsan factor, which has served me very well since I purchased it, but I've always wanted a more portable .22 to compliment it and your review helped narrow my choices down nicely. I finally managed to purchase one of these and while it is a "budget tool" I am delighted with the results!
