Further to the message of the week, I too am a veteran with PTSD and thanks to your video reviews I've also got back into air rifle shooting. I desperately needed something to encourage me to get out of the house more and shooting has provided me with that outlet.
Unfortunately my finances won't stretch to a PCP rifle and filling method, so after watching almost all of your reviews I settled on a BSA Lightning SE XL GRT as it was within my budget and left me with enough pennies to buy a scope and bag etc.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful reviews and advice videos, As a direct result of watching them, I've not only found a great new hobby, I have also noticed a marked improvement in my mental health.
Thank you Andy, thank you very much indeed.

I know what your going through brother and it’s never easy at times as I too am a veteran who also suffers with PTSD, We did our bit for Queen and country and that’s what we have to be proud of and try and lock those memories away that cause so many problems, it’s sometimes not easy but we have to be strong and take stock of things and push through. I hope you enjoy your new rifle buddy and get as much enjoyment as I do when out with mine either shooting targets or getting on some permissions to do a farmer a favour and keep vermin under control. But whatever you decide enjoy it and enjoy life my friend.

Don't worry about not being able to afford a PCP, springers (especially good ones like the Lightening) are a way better shooting experience. PCPs are actually kind of boring after a while but there is so much technique to shooting a springer that it is a lot more rewarding and you never stop learning and improving. I feel better after shooting five three-shot clover-leaves at 25m with my springer than I do after putting a hundred pellets through the same hole at 35 with my PCP. Nothing better for your peace of mind than an hour on the range, take care mate.

@@davidpaylor5666 You couldn’t have worded that better David, I’ve been shooting airguns for nearly 50 years and yes I have a couple of pcp’s but I’m always taking a springer out for a change as it’s more challenging and rewarding. And there is nothing wrong with a stalwart of a rifle that’s the BSA Lightning SE XL GRT been around for years and definitely delivers the goods, I’ve had one in the past and they are a very good rifle indeed.

@@PiperX1X Cheers mate. It's too easy these days to get all caught up with PCPs and with good reason, I dropped a rat with a head-shot at 62m last night with my sub-12 HW100 and it's not a shot I would have even thought about taking with a springer but when I just want to shoot for the pleasure of shooting it's always the springer I reach for.

I understand as a Vet. I was/am having PTSD issues. My shrink asked me what I did to relax, I said shoot. The look on her face was a treat. I said to her, it keeps me focused. I am in total control of my rifle, my breathing, etc and it is just me and a paper target and I completely "zone out" the rest of the world and concentrate on the centre of the target and my skill to hit that centre. I showed her some targets at various distances, now she understands me better.

The social side and wonderful characters you meet along the way is so refreshing . Let’s hope we can keep our sport :)

I've had a synthetic with the agonised red barrel shroud, A bugbuster 3-9 and a fat TnA twink silencer for nearly a year. One if my favourite guns. With the silencer it's so quiet and wicked accurate. You can use some if the larger reximex printed msgs. love it.

Had one of these in walnut for a couple of months.
The open sights are not very good, but usable.
I fitted a 34 mm diameter mod and you can use the open sights ok.
Trigger's very heavy, I swapped the springs out for lighter ones, big improvement.
A fully adjustable stock is available from Bobp on the AGF.
All in all a pretty good pistol, and it is as accurate as he is claiming.

Another good review Andy, I bought one of these when they first come out. The first one went back with a air leak issue and sticking mags. This was replaced with a new one. I have the. 177 carbine. I have fitted a Bob p folding stock to give it complete adjustability. I have a T eagle 3-9 scope I have just bought. Been down to Atherton indoor range today & enjoyed 4 hrs with it. I also took my Zbroia Kozak mk2 in. 177. To which I fitted a new Huma reg which made the Kozak even better. It's standard deviation is 3fps. I chronograph the Reximex Mito today & was surprised the power is around 5.6ftlb & standard deviation on its own reg was 3fps with jsb express 7.87. I shoot this up to 40 yards indoors. Other club members have shot this and are well impressed. I watch your reviews every week, and pleased you have tried for yourself one of these brilliant lightweight carbines. If you get a chance to review a Cometa fenix 400, I have the compact star version, which I prefer to my Hw98 which sound daft as I cost twice as much. Which goes to prove you don't need to spend a fortune £260.00 for the Cometa £508.00 for the Hw98. Thanks again for the time you spend on your reviews. People within the shooting community appreciate the time it takes and respect your opinion.

Oh yes. Sometimes mira les do seem to happen.😁..when you can get more for less. Though, some might think the wood and/or laminate is a more sophisticated, finer (and thus a more expensive) alternative choice.

Ive got two. One walnut and one synthetic Added feyachi rail sights front and back to accommodate a silencer...plus the usual hawke red dot...and for 5hit5 and giggles an immersive optics scope. They are both blindingly accurate up to 25- 30 yards!
N.B. not all optics mounted at the same time!

    Great review, as always
Had one for a while, 1st was faulty but was swapped immediately 👍 c/o the distributors.
Found mine to be pellet fussy and awkward to load ( it hated flat nosed, which I think distorted as they went into the breach). The removable butt has too high a cheak line IMO, making it difficult to select an optic that wasn't in skyscraper high mounts. Which was needed as the actual open sights didn't appear to adjust enough to get it to shoot at 10m ( over by a considerable amount)
Biggest niggle was the case, damn thing was / is superb but you have to remove any scope / red dot prior to storing it away.
Apart from that, it was great.

Yes it looks great in the shop but as soon as you've scoped it you need a new case, another thirty quid.

Beautiful pistol, I'm not a fan of turkish guns in general (due to aesthetics and quality) but I think here they nailed it. I like the wooden grip. Good thinking they have them regulated. Still you could add a bit more information on count of shoots (I would expect something around 120 shots for this power setting) and a few more comments on 10m standing one hand shooting experience with their open sights. I wanted a mito but chose to buy a pp750 instead. Just as accurate, easier to tune, alot cheaper, more reliable.

@@Makeroomformushrooms apparently theres a seal deep in a recessed hole on the mito, which if ever faults then it's impossible to replace. Sounds like a something I'd avoid. Yeah snowpeak is 50/50 if you get a good one but they're easy to diy fix.

Hi Andy, firstly great review, looks an awesome bit if kit.
I was wondering do you know if the slimline silencers are or will be available to purchase separately? I'm after a slimline for one of my rifles but am really struggling to find one.
    Thanks Gav.

Thanks to Those Guys and Girls at Vector Air, I’m now the proud owner of one of the synthetic kits and no I wasn’t disappointed - it’s a cracking little pistol with the fun factor of having the silencer and stock. The little sight is an added bonus.

Andy. Another great video as usual.👍 Wish I had millions, I'd have one of everything!. That said, I've seen vids showing problems with some of your favourite guns such as the BSA R12 CLX and Ultra. Do you keep guns long enough to discover these, or do you turn over guns so quickly that they are always mint and working. It would be good if you did some follow up " long term ownership" type videos , especially if you find faults and fixes .

For the same price as the synthetic with stock, you could get a Lee Enfield Sentry! It is nice though, eh? Very portable and can probably be hand pumped without giving yourself a coronary?

Have 2 of these guns .177 and .22 . And both off them are in carabine form permanent. 2 × higher powerlevel than in your country. Both off them zero at 50 meter. This is (5) fived year i am using it. Thing i didn't like are : 1. The open vizier, they are not zerod (use the adjustable in the back): 2 . The dovetail from the back don't line up with the dovetail in the front : 3 . The loading breach is flemsy (it's anoing for single shot mode but with the magazines works good: 4 . The adapter for silencer leaves a gap between the barrel and the silencer. (Use a rubber O- ring to close it). First i like IT
But now I loveing IT. It light, nibble and both of them fits in one guncase without tearin it down. And yes i don't use the original guncase no more. They stay in carabine and scope(4×9×40 AO). And again thank you and hole team for the Nice and good review that you provide to people around the world🤗😉✌😎🤓. Ps excuse me for my bad englisch 😟😞😬✌

yeah I own one, a 0.22Cal, at full power level (obviously i'm not in the UK or any of these countries limiting the output power) You are so right about the miss match in Dove tail heights, maybe this is because of the how they have set up the iron sights but it of course rendered placing anything upon rear and front Dovetail out of the question. Also the poor quality "true glo" material is basically no existent in the iron sights. A copy of the Russian ATAMAN P16
