One of my favorite songs from back in my younger days!
I always love this song I sing it to my grandoutter and I love you
I can't believe I forgot this song. It's beautiful.
I absolutely love this song after 60 years, to me one of the greatest songs ever!! Great voice, I also dig people enjoying themselves, cool videos. The two women dancing in back were referred as go-go dancers. They were more popular late 60s. Really enjoyed this. Gene had a great song in 1970 Groovy Situation, appreciate if you would react to that. Good day
Fun fact: as a kid I was introduced to this song in a..strange way. As a kid I watched the Pound Puppies movie and one of the songs in the movie was called "Big Paw" and done to the beat of this song..so when I got older and nostalgic..and the internet came along enough..I hopped online and looked it up, and found what the song was based on. Been a fan ever since..my grandma on the other hand grew up with this song as she was born in the 1940's so she remembered when it came out..for her last birthday before she passed I made a playlist of classic songs she grew up with for her to listen to.
I've loved this since I was a little girl. So romantic and what a voice 😍
I remember this song.alot of of good music from that era.
Song from my Jr. High school days. :))) Around the same time I was listening over and over again "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" ! my early teen years.
That was a super cool song back in the day. I remember the older kids playing it at dances.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE
Total classic from the golden age of doo wop. THE song to do The Stroll to
I was born in 1964 in Europe. But I still value American culture from that era. Loved 😍 Your reaction. Best regards from Toronto , Canada 💖👍
African American freedmen (ADOS) culture..
Thank you for playing my Dad's song
Top 5 All time !! Duke of Earl, I was 13 in 1962 this is truly on of the greatest songs of All Time. Thanks Gene for making this gem.
Loved this song!
This vato Loco has all of Gene Chandler's music.
Hey Tysheen :) You saw them chewing gum because the main sponsor for American Bandstand back then was Beechnut Chewing Gum and they wouldtell the audience stuff like "If you want to be seen on camera you need to be chewing gum", lol. They even handed audience members pin on buttons to pin on their shirts with the letters IFIC on them which was short for "Flavor-IFIC". I love this type of music. If you get the chance, listen to The Drifters song "Under The Boardwalk" some time, I think you'd enjoy it as well. Take care, Gary
A Doowop classic. Love it.
Its 2023 and Gene is now 86 and looks 65, naturally.
My girlfriends and I went to see American Graffiti and dressed up. Went door to door collecting donations. To revive the oldies. We bought cigarettes. What a bunch of brats LOL😂That brought back memories!
Groovy Situation is another hit by Gene Chandler that is one of my favorites. That should be your next Gene Chandler song you react to.
👍👑
you took me back to middle school
Keep exploring doo woop 👍
There were several rock movies made in the 50s 60s . They showcased different singers and bands. Supper clubs were popular then so people had a nice meal and watched the performers. That's why sometimes you don't see dancing. I went to a supper club here in N.C. back around 1970 and saw saw Fats Domino.
If you like these great 50's style songs you should try reacting to , "Steve Holy - Just A Kiss (+ lyrics 2000)"
Has a cool Roy Orbison feel you'll love!
A British band called Darts did a great version of this.
Songs from the past are in some ways better than contemporary ones
The group Darts covered this also in 1979. This original version is really cool.
The song is from 1961 but this vid is a little later as there are gogo girls dancing ... I'd say this is from 1963 onwards.
Love this ❤️❤️
Beautiful girl
Another song of his..I fooled you this time check it out
Please react to this double shot of a very young Anita Carter of the famous Carter Family ,
