This is one of my favorite series on UA-cam because it always covers enough information to not be ignorant and just enough to not be boring. Then it's just a matter of somehow making the topic fun to learn about, which is something Oversimplified excels at with animation, comedy, and music.

Something missing and interesting: he says Hitler took all of Czechoslovakia, but that’s an oversimplification (ha!). Hitler actually made a deal with the Slovakians that he would only take over the Czech portion of the country, which they agreed to (it depicts this in the video even though he doesn’t mention the deal). In the 90s, after they broke away from the Soviet Union, the Slovakians wanted to be their own country, separate from the Czechs, arguing that they had been their own country before. This pissed the Czechs off, naturally, because the Slovakians were only their own country because they stabbed the Czechs in the back.
I learned that while visiting the Czech Republic.

Funny part is I also make oversimplified funny statements on historical events in some of my videos. It makes history easier to understand and keeps the audience listening! The UK was 100% impossible to invade. It was quite literally the LAST thing Germany wanted to do, it would not have been an invasion of conquest - but of desperation and even so it could not have been achieved. Operation Sea Lion was a major wargame conducted at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1974. Its aim was to find out what might have happened had Nazi Germany launched Operation Sea Lion, their planned invasion of southeast England during World War II, in September 1940. The wargame was organised by the Daily Telegraph and Dr Paddy Griffith from the Department of War Studies at Sandhurst. The British umpires were Air Chief Marshal Christopher Foxley-Norris, Rear Admiral Teddy Gueritz and Major General Glyn Gilbert. The German umpires were General Adolf Galland (air), Admiral Friedrich Ruge (naval) and General Heinrich Trettner (land). After the game's conclusion, the umpires UNANIMOUSLY concluded that the invasion was a devastating defeat for the German invasion force even after changing the odds purely in Germany's favour.

Huge WW2 nerd here. I like Oversimplified's videos. Obv, just by their name, they zip through some things in a rapid-fire manner in order keep the video short and entertaining. That said I think they perform a valuable service by introducing people to a subject without making it a chore, as well as providing a decent overview of the subject. History Matters is another good channel for quick history videos.

@@speedy01247 exactly. Anyone blaming the US for the outcome of the Versailles peace treaty has to use Rube Golberg type logic to justify their opinion. I think Wilson is one of the worst presidents of all time but I have to give him credit for being dubious of the outcomes of the Treaty of Versailles. The United States "led" the conference but the real power behind the scene was Britain and France. Wilson and the French/British powers were at odds at how to go about it. Wilson really did want a system in which there was transparency and a system to avoid future wars where as the European powers were seeking punishment. It's public record the US and Europe were at odds during the formation of that treaty.

how could relatively small germany keep the world under his control? impossible!
    2. hitler's troops did not march into austria just like that. austria wanted to join germany (anschluss) for quite some time.
