The dragonfly battery only lasted 2 months. The optic has to be removed to change the battery. Meaning you will have to replace it and re-zero every 2 months. I've been waiting for over a week for Springfield to reply to me about the issue.
Why would they mount an optic that doesn’t fit in the space? I love my Springfield, but I’m not using an adaptor plate and defeating the purpose of the optic cut. You might as well get the aftermarket iron sight adaptor. Hellcat osp and 365x/xl know what they are doing…. This is so dumb.
The XDME OSP version does demand a plate with the Hex Dragonfly...and if you buy the weapon and red dot together, apparently you only get the one plate...and no adapter for putting that hex on a picatinny rail. And, the website doesn't offer the adapter. So, buying them both together may not be such a great deal.
I wish the Hex had an auto on feature. As a woods carry 10mm, makes little sense to have to turn the dot on in case of a 4 legged attack. Ok for the range.
The first battery in my Dragonfly lasted approximately twenty (20) hours. We'll see how the second one does. The sight did not return to zero when the battery was changed. YMMV. Good luck...
Bought my SA Prodigy with HEX Dragonfly installed. Dead. Won’t turn on even with changed battery. Just arrived today at SA for inspection and possibly a new one. 😡 let’s hope it won’t take forever
Just bought one. I love the iron sites on the gun. I think the red dot is garbage. Red dot does not appear to be in the center of screen tried to center it no luck sent it back. Got another one Zach same thing battery does not fit in the bottom of the actual red dot neither, so when you mounted it sticks up a little bit with that red dot whatsoever
Had the xdm elite and the mounting plates for the optics are sh!t no matter what you do the sight will sit to high as it isn’t able to be direct mounted! I was told the recoil lugs were taller in these models? Either way go hellcat osp! You will be much happier all the way around!
My red dot is going into the garbage I would definitely recommend to not buy it with the red dot. Mine is a 10 mm have not shotgun yet but looks like a very fine gun besides the giant handle that you can change what you need to pound out a pin to actually change it why they didn’t use a screw of some sort of I couldn’t tell you.
I love this gun BUT this is the worst sight for it. I bought the combo over 2 years ago and the sight fell off about 20 shots in. The attachment screws just aren’t long enough so it only catches 2 tiny threads. I reached out to Springfield and got replacement screws and it did the exact same thing. I probably used it for 40 rounds total and it hasn’t been on the gun since. It was great while it was on there but they just didn’t do their homework and I’m finally going to just get another sight for it.
By any chance did you trying putting Threadlocker on it? Blue 242 that might help with the screws not coming out with the vibration you get from shooting.
I just purchased an XDM Elite, 3.8”, 10mm. Also purchased a Dragonfly separately (coming in soon). Do I need to purchase a plate or is the pistol cut for a direct installation? Thank you Paul
I just purchased the 4.5 model , waiting on shipping ,,, without optic , I purchased a holosun 407c , if I can not find a set of iron sights to co-witness with that optic , I am going to be very unhappy , I live in Grizzly country , I am not trusting my life to a optic alone ,,, I am afraid I have made a blunder ,,,,,
Springfield is terrible. Bought a XD-M Elite 3.8 in 9 MM. Got the gun and to find out the optic is not mounted on the gun. The optic adapter plate is not even included for the Hex Dragonfly. You have to call Springfield and ask for the plate. Then the cover plate screws are so tight you nearly strip the screw heads trying to get them out. Had to take the gun to a gunsmith to get screws out.. When the adapter plate arrived it had 2 oversize mounting screws that wouldn't fit. So another call to Springfield. Have had the gun for over 4 weeks now and haven't fired a shot yet. Waiting on new screws [another call] to arrive.

Just get a new battery dude, and remember to turn it off, if it doesn’t auto off.

“It’s gonna last as long as the battery does”, what an answer! Lol no shit Einstein.

I just bought mine today, hopefully picking it up in the morning.

So, when is the 45 acp version coming around..? Hopefully soon! Thanks for sharing.
Love it. Just got one. The 10 mm
She is a beast too. I got the 3.8 in April but would’ve waited a couple of months the 4.5. Still very happy though.

The iron sites do or don't co-witness through the red dot sight window?
If not, why wouldn't they design the pistol this way?
I have been looking for one but I can't find any around here I would buy it in a heart beat.

Both eyes 👀 open. Now I see every thing even with irons. I’m sure the creators of this videos know this. Just pointing it out as a side note.

Boohoo
Mine came with plate
Really wish they would drop the grip safety
And “grip zone”🤦♂️
No shake wake and optic isn’t that great. NEXT!!!!
The dirty secret is that you have to remove the sight completely in order to change the battery. That sucks....
With the advertised battery life and 16 hour auto shut off you shouldn't have to change battery very often.
Rubber turn on for Hex dragonfly fell off reddot without me even using it.
