The best tattoo teacher on UA-cam that I watched so far. Most of the people dont want to give all details in one video or they save them for paid courses but you are really brave and sharing all the knowledge. Thank you so much. I am developing with you
Thank you so much for the generosity of teaching the way you do, you deserve all the respect
THANKYOU SOOO MUCH. When I started practice tattooing with your first method because my mentor told me so, it feels horrible. the grip is not stable, my hand is shacking, the result was disappointing. And then I find your video, the way you hold your tattoo machine is the way I normally hold my pen and that's my forever comfort zone.
I love this dude im a beginner and I like how he just gives details other people don’t give details like him this really is helping me a lot thank you
As a beginner I also appreciate a lot the way he explains without too many unnecessary details, just what it is as the core principles of tattooing 👌
I’m currently in my apprenticeship and the middle finger method instantly helped me with lining so much when I used it. But I use this other method for basically everything else; shading, packing, etc. Love your videos dude! They’ve helped me so much!
Thank you🙏 I appreciate your help I was struggling a bit and decided to look for a video tutorial. You were very specific I improved instantly after watching ur video. Ur awesome! God bless you.
Thank you Daniel for these videos ,cheers from croatia
Love how in depth your videos are! I’m a total beginner but your videos are definitely giving me a bit of confidence, thanks man #DanielYuck
The best tattoo teacher on UA-cam so far thank you master 😊
I do have a lot of questions but your videos answered that and help me figure it out . Very well said. Keep it up and don't mind negativity. Appreciate it Daniel. From Ph🇵🇭
Thank you for your tips. I've got an A level art degree and I took it with a tattooist that wanted to go on after the 18 month every day course and train me to tattoo and work in one of his shops. Sadly I never took his offer. He always used to say that I would be able to do it. I've just bought a decent wireless, and after a few tips by yourself it feels natural to me. So I'm going to keep on with it on my skin pads and see how it goes. I appreciate your advice so far and will be looking back on your site and hopefully become better for it. This will be the first time I've ever used a tattoo gun.
Thanks for the update dawg. I really tried to make the previous grip work but I have long fingers and I could never get it to feel comfortable. I'll try this way, it looks more natural.
This was a great idea on how to hold
Awesome work 👍🤟
Super helpful !!! Thanks
This video has really helped me a lot, and given me some new techniques to master for sure man. I shot you an email on some advice I could use. Much love to ya bro. I love the videos have really kept me moving along and motivated! 🙏🏻
Thank you for the upload 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Another great content, the way you explained can be understood by the simplest and one who are new to tattoos, the way we hold our machine changes as we progressed, Ed Hardy and other pioneers of tattoing holds their machines almost as they woulfd a pencil wuthva tiny grip, but that's not for us, as you've always mentioned tsttoing is subjective, to each their own, but with the new age tattoo pens, the way you hold it just feels right if you've had experience with the middle finger method, i give this video a 5 star and 2 thumbs up, reasoon why when yoy tattoo a real skin, the middle finger method isn't always applicable, you might even be capable of tattooing with your left hand, your progressiveness is mind f****, and your ambition, dedication, diligence and hard work pays off, a genius at content creation, RESPECT Brother 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks for all pf your free content. Very helpful my friend
You're welcome Jacob! I appreciate you, your time and your support.
Firstly, awesome tutorials. Mad respect for how you explain what you are doing. I do have a question. I'm not sure if you have a video on. How to gauge the depth of your needles. To avoid going to deep. Or even possibly ripping the skin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Needed to See this Video
Thanks for sharing this
Another great video my brother thanks for the advice im definitely seeing an improvement holding my machine
#danielyuck
Thanks for clarifying
So helpful!!!
amazing that so far no manufacturer has created a profile for the tip that would make it easier to resist the needle against the finger. Simple, cheap, helpful, and there isn't one.
Well i think its bc everyone has different fingers and holds the machine differently. It would fit just a few people, i dont think it would be profitable
Ointment on the skin to make the hand slide. Great tip
Thanks for your tattoo content I'm new at the tattooing always been very artist inclined and wanted to tattoo(also have many tattoos) but finally took the leap and got a really nice wireless tattoo machine and bought all the outlined and shaders cartridges and grips cups ink etc...i spent over 300 spares no expense because common guys this shit is forever not an area to go to the bargain bin clearance section for a tattoo machine and equipment 😂but sorry to mumble on but I'm subscribed and watch/like every video and tell all my friends about you thanks for all the content
Understanding your machine is key!!!
Great video
Thank you for this, it really helps my learning 💚 #DanielYuck
superb
i hold the machine with my finger on the cart and i experience that too except the ink would sometimes get all over the finger on the cart but thats it had to sometime wipe my finger off after some lines
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the super thanks! I also want to thank you for your time, support and feedback! I appreciate you.
Should you ever have any questions along your way don't hesitate to reach out to me and I will do my best to assist you in the best possible direction.
legend.
Thanks again mate another helpful video. Mate any chance you could do a video on how to tattoo fur on say a lion or tiger. Thanks again mate.
Thanks brother
You're welcome!
Thank you for your support and feedback.

I still hold my machine using the middle finger as a steady,
I tried to stop it once as I find my glove can get a lot of ink on it sometimes but the hold seems to be ingrained in me now I think I originally learnt to hold it that way from tattoo university on UA-cam
Thanks, great advice as usual. How do you go about going over a spot that has a bunch of details and the stencil spreads . Sometimes you have to get a busy spot and once you lift your hand it's smeared but if you hovered your hand to not touch the stencil it the lines would be shaky!
Is there any chance you can make a review on the magic moon comfort new cartridges, with the new design ?
#DanielYuck
Thanks for this lesson
How am I holding my machine? Likely wrong. 😂. Watched and Perfectly explained! Thank you so much for making these understandable for beginner tattoo artists. Now on to the skin to practice.
Hahaha William you are a funny guy! I feel there isn't a right or wrong way to hold a machine. I feel like if the artist is able to produce good results with the current posture and holding style who is to say otherwise, you know? If it ain't broken don't fix it haha/
I have seen all types of holding styles and postures and I don't ever think that it is wrong but more so try to understand why an artist may make certain choices. I am always looking for ways to resolve issues I experience when tattooing.
Thank you for your continued time and support William! I appreciate you.
Recently got a tattooing setup for myself. Got some pretty decent lines for it being my first time. I just want to know if the ink should be barely visible on the backside of the fake skin or not at all? I’m using yuelong
Hey man what ointment are you using to wipe your practise skin with keeping it so clean ?
I noticed that the ball of my thumb starts hurting a lot after a while when practicing, is this normal for beginners? Is there anything that I need to change like loosening my grip or increasing/decreasing the amount of grip tape wrapped on my machine?
Great video btw! Will definitely try this out as I am still trying to get used to holding my machine. :)
Do you have any tips for a left handed tattooist to hold the machine??
I find it hard to control the depth with this method of holding the machine
curious how your grip style is different than the new one Daniel is showing?
Hello, how are you? I was watching your video of your new position or grip of the machine. The truth is I'm trying to adopt it to be able to draw good lines. I'm having problems now with the drawing of the line. I feel that my hand doesn't flow. There's no depth consistency when pulling one. line, could you help me by sending me good photos of how you grip the machine as it looks, supporting your fingers on the cartridge and on the canvas, I just want to adopt your grip perfectly since the video does not show very well the angles of how you grip the machine as it should look. my hand perfectly
What watts u have that pen on I have a original tattoo gun
What angle should the machine be at when doing lines?
Wat kind of tattoo gun are you using and how can I get one
Gonna try this bcuz my lines (on fake skin) are inconsistent
What needle size are you using for that line?
How do you get your videos so clean? #DanielYuck
What kind of needle did you use for this demonstration??
Odd question hut its beee erking me... Are those dishwashig gloves your wearig in thevide?
I'm running into that problem right now. The ink builds up and smears around my finger.
I’m in dire need of help here, I’ve seen most people say you should tattoo on a 90 angle or 45 at most, but ultimately 90 is the most optimal and so on, as I see here you’re holding it at like a 60ish? Is that correct? Because that’s the way I kinda feel comfortable too but the 90 angle thing is making me so anxious
I've searched everywhere... Can you or someone tell me why when i'm practicing lining on fake skin, my lines are doubled? Like I can see where each needles is touching instead of a nice solid line. Idk if it's the needle, the fake skin, the ink, my technique, or a little of everything. Thanks.
💯🖤🖤🖤🖤💯
What kind of needle is that /…????
Are you using a printer for the stencils
Yes it was done with a printer. Not sure what kind he has but, you can tell by the way it looks.
Great info and tips my brother . I to us to use my middle finger but as time has gone on I no longer use my middle finger
What if I’m left handed?
What about tip riding? Do you have tips?
Me personally I don’t encourage riding the tube or anything to this extent and for a couple reasons I can think of. It’s messy, hard to see and may cause more pain because we have the tip of the tube rubbing against the skin.
I would encourage to practice and develop on fake skin to be able to float the tip of the tattoo needle over riding the tube.
@@DanielYuck but it might blow out if the client unexpectedly move
#danielyuck
How do you transfer your stencils to fake skin?
I use curd soap it works really good. Lather it thick in your hands/hand, apply to stencil then just wipe it off a little and spread equally with paper towel. Good luck on your Journey.
Is it just me or do the Reelskins take the ink almost tooo well? For me the true skins are the best when it comes to closest to actual skin
Why everyone make the grip so thick ? It is not more comfy thiner?
More comfy yes but making it thicker will make u more steady, try it👍🏻
@@elieme7719 ok ,thanks 🙏
This is the question I've been asking my self for years and that's the answer I needed to hear thanks to both I will try it. 🤙
what about you breathing /?
