Someone else owned it - it was just stored at the property. It and the Safari wagon were listed on the sale and had strong bids early, but were pulled before it finished.
Great collection. Love the old Crackerbox. Those are super cool. The suburban could have been like a coroner's vehicle instead of a traditional hearse.
That car and the Safari were listed initially, but pulled from the auction before it closed - my understanding was that they belonged to someone else who had them stored there
First encounter of hearses. One thing I like about hearses is that its easy to find an old one in excellent condition, and most have low mileage readings. It would be best to buy one that was freshly retired.
Not a hearse, a recovery vehicle for bringing the departed to the mortuary. Hospitals, nursing homes, old age homes etc. prefer not to have a hearse on the property.
That `55 or `56 Pontiac Safari at 10:50 is very rare, shared a lot of parts with the Chevy Nomad but with bigger and better Pontiac engines. That `56 Ford sedan delivery was a a good one too, very complete and original. I LOVE your channel and am constantly impressed with your encyclopedic knowledge but one suggestion: please pop the hoods on the good stuff. It`s the first thing I do when I look at a car, the interior is the last thing.
South Australia! That would definitely add some mileage to one of those oldies, ha!😅 Talk about miles, geez, I wonder what the cost for shipping something of that size would entail?🤔😳Oh Boy! 😅😂🤣 but ya have to respect the time and craftsmanship involved in the process of creating such an ostentatious vehicle. I, as a youngster, thought that I would make one into a 'crewcab' pickup truck. Silly, dumb idea, but back in the 70's, a company was making some Cadillac pickups, but only as a 2 door. Ha Haa 😂! Yup, they were popular in and around Scottsdale Az. and around the state of Arizona. I know that they started to ship them around the country after people with money started to notice them.😊 Me😮to much $$$$ for my poor broke butt.... 😅😂🤔🫣🙄 I dreamt😴 about owning one, but I was about 17 at the time, ha ha. @jimmysexton4201 It's an orchard model, in this case an AO, or a 60 Orchard. When you can, take the time to search info on them, they're really a pretty neat thing. I was surprised by the Oliver orchard model next to it!
Oh how I miss my hearses. '68 M&M, '59 Eureka combo, '69 M&M all Cadillacs. VW Bugs are smaller and I stopped getting complaints from the city after I sold them off.
The wow is what I paid for each of them back in the '90's. However, I don't like to talk about that much since I know where prices are currently. I still wish somehow I could come across a pre '70 Cadillac hearse I can afford. @@mr.goodpliers6988
Foley Brother funeral home had a suburban like that to pick up bodies at hospitals, nursing homes. Didn't believe black units belonged doing the pick-ups where living people were in same building.
@@mr.goodpliers6988 I didn't know that there was a set term/name for that job. Thanks. This old man is still learning even after the saying about old dogs. Ha ha and thanks

Very interested to see this video, I was seriously considering bidding for the silver 64 Cadillac flower car but it seemed to be pulled from the auction listings very late on. I presume some deal was made for it and it found a home. It would have been a mission to get it shipped to the UK I’m sure. Great vid, thanks for posting 👍
I believe the “Whatzit Corner” tractor is a Porsche. My wife and I were on vacation driving through Sebring, Florida around eight years ago and saw several through a fence in someone’s lot. No one was around for us to inquire about them. Some very nice and others for parts
Extremely rare 66 c60 with four wheel drive conversion! Probably NAPCO? Also could be a Coleman conversion? But very rare find to say the least! Good job guys!
I live close to the Sisters of Providence and they have I believe a late 40's or early 50's Packard hearse. My friend works there and says it was bought new by the Sisters and that it's immaculate and regularly maintained. The Sisters have onsite housing, medical and funeral facilities and a cemetery on the grounds so it only goes on about a 2 mile round trip for a funeral. I have always thought hearses were cool but never had the desire to own one though. It was kool seeing so many old hearses in the video, I hope they get brought back to life so to speak 😁
Neat to see the procars. I understand windshield cracking was a big issue if just one corner of the rear was jacked up to change a tire. Especially on the high top ambulances. The stress of the body on the extra large windshield would cause a crack on the opposite side. I think the oversized replacement glass is still hard to come by for those.
You know, I'd never thought of that, but I can definitely see how the conversion would SERIOUSLY change the body integrity. Probably a good bet that the glass is unobtanium in most cases.
Many of the funeral cars and others like extended airport cars used before shuttle vans have very sketchy construction. Not enough welding and gussets/boxing in the frames
Crazy idea, but I bet with some restoration, that '53 Pontiac could actually go back to work as a niche specialty service hearse. I have no idea how much one would earn for fees, but I could picture hauling that around on a car hauler regionally to wherever a service is. That would be a cool last ride and a lot of car guys would die for a ride in that thing.
It had been listed on the online auction and had strong bids early, but was pulled for some unexplained reason. As far as I know it was someone else's stored at the location. The whole deal was a touchy situation
There were several vehicles at this location which had been stored there by other people, and were not a part of the auction. It was a rare motorcycle which has serious collector value, but will probably languish in storage until that owner's estate sale
Tim I can’t believe you didn’t bid on the 53 Pontiac hearse. Did you not know that Neal Young drove that exact car from Canada to Los Angeles before forming Buffalo Springfield. It might be the same car. I was flabbergasted you did not even talk about that car. Do you know who bought it and how much it sold for? Also you said you would email me a price on the 67 Ambassador
Man , all those hearses , funeral cars, removal vehicles. This guy had the same sickness I have, just way more room to store lol. I'm guessing this person who had this collection passed ?
Oh he did pass...man that's sad, he had the same taste in everything I do and yes, we do pester the funeral homes for years on end until they sell us that hearse parked out back lol. Good stuff. I have a couple still .
Those were two of the most collectible cars there, but belonged to a different person and were just stored there. They had been listed in the online auction and received strong bids early, but were pulled from the sale for some unexplained reason
The Ambulance with 5 radios looks like a lawyer response unit.
