A little correction for those of you that think he shorted out his antennas on his wires in a Wi-Fi antenna set up there is only one antenna that is broadcasting a signal the second antenna or the second cable on the outside of the antenna is just a shielding cable hooked to ground to keep the signal from being contaminated he may be routing some of the signal back to ground but he's not losing all and only the first three discs two or three discs are sending the signal where he soldered it the rest of the little dish are just there to isolate and pinpoint the signal
Hey John would you be able to help me I have a 5 ft microwave dish from a cell tower it's in good condition I want to be able to receive long-distance Wi-Fi signals how would I go about it
Sir I asking you, tell me can it is possible wifi signal received hand made wifi signal received antenna ? Because I confused I don't understand this is real or fake.
How did you make the feets for the DIY Wi-Fi antenna, you didn't show that? Would also like to see some follow up video, where you show that the antenna work.
correct me if I am wrong but considering that the back plate is the ground shouldn't it be isolated and not making contact with the rest of the antenna?
I’m trying to figure out how I can do that with a belkin N300 USB Adapter. I don’t have a router or phone line in the workshop and I’d like to be able to get online on my laptop.
Your 2nd disk is soldered to the positive wire and the ground wire is touching the 1st disk which is touching the 2nd dish through the threaded rod thus shorting the coax leads together. The 2nd disk needs to be isolated from ground.
Wasn’t easy to get it turned on but when I did all the birds flew away and haven’t come back and the neighbours dog can walks straight line. think I made the circles wrong, i need an undo antennae.
Well it is working great with my Rockwell wireless card for sure. Kali is working great with a boost of 16gb ram as well. I was able to run it through an amplifier to modulate it further. Doesn't take much to push off the neighborhood.
U should have connected the shielding of the cable to the ground! This way the signal would be much more concentrated and lower losses! 2.4ghz signals will have grater loss anyways
I'm using my router as extender. My neighbor allowed to share their wifi, but I'm not getting poor signal ,is there ay way to optimize the extender range?
Please tell me, is there a router or access point in the video? They simply told me that the access point cannot receive with one antenna and distribute another, that only two of them should be used. Is it possible to plug one antenna socket into one, and let the other one distribute something? Does this access point require a mimo antenna?
So would be nice with a little more explanation, like what router were you using and is any router sufficient? And where's the comparison? How far does it extend signal? Indoor or outdoor ranges? Lots of info needed.
The coax is connected to this fake antenna in a dead short and will not receive or send any data! This short can damage the router! Notice that, at no time, did he ever have power applied to the router! Possibly to keep the router safe from damage, that is, if the router even works! I have been doing antenna design for 45 years and this a joke!
Shorting is not an issue for RF when done correctly, this is necessary to achieve an impedance match and lower the VSWR. Without it, this would radiate terribly.
@@michaellin4553 just a minor correction and I know this because I'm an amateur radio operator and also a technician when you are trying to create a antenna that shoots a signal directionally you need to especially have your ground plane which is the negative side of the coax to stop the signal needs to be separated from the hot center of the coaxial call it for the RF signal he does need to have that rear plate isolated as far as for RF the RF impedance imbalance can be corrected through coils or other things that are put on there but then the signal won't be correct he actually needs to match the length of the antenna to the length of the signal he is trying to radiate if you get that length perfectly right in the right ratio then you will get a perfect impedance but you also have the wire to worry about in other portions that's why they use coils on antennas and slide the the antenna parts up and down inside out and make them different links and that
It appears as if there is a direct short if the shielding ground is actually connected to the solid coper stinger as it seems both are attached by solder to the conductive threaded rod.
Yes, a dead short! This is a scam! Connecting this to a working router will short out the tx/rx circuit and damage the router! Notice he never applies power to this router before or after the connection of this fake antenna!

Interesting set of tools, you start out with a vernier calliper, good but then proceed to cut the metal with scissors! Or after determining the lid centre, you use a felt tip marker.... Great video, the only problem I see is that you are using 75ohm cable for wifi , 50ohm would give bar far much performance.
How could this work? He soldered the coax ground and center conductor to two different metal plates but there connected by the threaded rod ???
While it is a DC short, it is not a short to 2.4GHz RF. The wrong spacing however would be the wrong impedance, decreasing the effective signal.
