In antenna design, it's called a surface wave antenna. Each of the small disks is equivalent to an infinite number of wires, ends up being a disk. The small disks are called directors. The antenna is essentially a yagi. The very last disk, the large one, is a reflector, the one the inner conductor goes to is called a driven element. If you want to make it weather proof, put it inside some pvc plastic water pipe. I've found that some of the measurements have to be empirically determined.

We all know the calculus concept of spinning a semicircle to form a sphere. Is this antenna effectively a Yagi that has been spun around its longitudinal axis, so that each rod in the Yagi becomes a disc? - a sort of Yagi for all polarisations? If you transmit from this antenna, what polarisation does the wave have? If you replace the center screw with something non conductive, and the d4iven element with a properly tuned loop, your antenna will perform much better. Alternatively, electrically isolate the driven element (one in from the back) from the rest of the design, and connect the shield to the reflector (far back element).
Somehow ping is 2ms. You get such ping only via cable. I highly douobt that this thing is working and author actually uses cable connection for show. Wi-fi has considerable latency (~15ms or more, depending on obstacles, distance and 2.4ghz/5ghz network congestion).
@@rocobalt9223 Being in a same room, using antenna on router and sitting almost next to it? Possible. But not over such long distance with a lot of obstacles as shown in video. Signal must make round trip, and that takes time.

It doesn't matter, because when they resonate, in the middle there will be a voltage node. It's like when you put a finger softly exactly on the middle of a guitar string (not pressing it down, only soft): You will still be able to hear a sound (not the best example, because here it will be one octave higher).
Lukas is correct (I'm an engineer). Here, the guy used round elements so it's not horizontal or vertically polarized. Further reading : www.antenna-theory.com/antennas/travelling/yagi.php Add "plumber's special" to a yagi search, that part isn't a new idea.

Ali Amber because 3mm isn't that easy to cut... You can also see at 0:24 where he is using a ruler, that the plates are not even close to 3mm... I'm pretty sure it's less than 1mm, so he probably meant 0.3mm
This will take off..I can tell.. Free wifi when needed.. no worries. Make a bigger one next time.. using bathtubs as your metal plates.. you'd probably be able to cover the whole country.
Nothing is illegal if you dont do anything stupid. building a huge antenna may be theoretically illegal, but if you dont use it on somebody else, then should be fine.
The physics would not work. The behavior of the antenna is based on the size and spacing of the disks. Along with that, radio waves at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz travel by line of sight, they won't make it past the horizon.

You speak very good English my friend. By any chance are you a science teacher or electronics engineer?
If you replace the center screw with something non conductive, and the d4iven element with a properly tuned loop, your antenna will perform much better. Alternatively, electrically isolate the driven element (one in from the back) from the rest of the design, and connect the shield to the reflector (far back element).

Right! haha
great video alex!
Who needs 5G when we can have Wi-Fi Guns!
free wifi blyat
Isn't this wifi gun 5g? lol
or maybe 2.5 i guess
Somehow ping is 2ms. You get such ping only via cable. I highly douobt that this thing is working and author actually uses cable connection for show. Wi-fi has considerable latency (~15ms or more, depending on obstacles, distance and 2.4ghz/5ghz network congestion).
agree. this seems fake
This is fake tho
I've got 2ms ping on wifi too
I live in Romania, a country known for the good internet speed.
@@rocobalt9223 Being in a same room, using antenna on router and sitting almost next to it? Possible. But not over such long distance with a lot of obstacles as shown in video. Signal must make round trip, and that takes time.
You are brilliant! Lost my mind when I saw that yute. That's the coolest truck ever! What is that vehicle?
its made from this Ziguli: www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fc8.alamy.com%2Fcomp%2FBPG3AP%2Fold-russian-car-from-seventies-BPG3AP.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.alamy.com%2Fstock-photo%2Fziguli.html&tbnid=Kmdj-3WeYkRfRM&vet=12ahUKEwj5mLDs4uLoAhUHNuwKHQQnAPkQMyg8egQIARBK..i&docid=YzKaju8tQMZXVM&w=1300&h=956&q=ziguli&ved=2ahUKEwj5mLDs4uLoAhUHNuwKHQQnAPkQMyg8egQIARBK

wanted to watch the build of a wifi gun. learned to love slav lifestyle
great Job,...we makin I-net-stream, and this is what we searching for...thanks man...;) GREAT!!!!
You do it ! if yes please what results that u getting
this is insane! Great builds with a weird ass custom car!
Shouldn't antenna elements be electrically isolated from one another but yours are connect over the metal bolt?
Yes strange
It doesn't matter, because when they resonate, in the middle there will be a voltage node. It's like when you put a finger softly exactly on the middle of a guitar string (not pressing it down, only soft): You will still be able to hear a sound (not the best example, because here it will be one octave higher).
Lukas is correct (I'm an engineer). Here, the guy used round elements so it's not horizontal or vertically polarized. Further reading : www.antenna-theory.com/antennas/travelling/yagi.php Add "plumber's special" to a yagi search, that part isn't a new idea.
Zara Hall yes, it is possible. With signal in giga Herz, flow of electricity is different. Wave length is very small.
Did You See how build is phone antenna? And why ground is connected to this same copper wired with signal pin? I use for my antenna in computer from old phone. And is working. Maybe signal is this same, but important is that is not worse, then original cheap antenna.
0:31 no way that copper sheet is 3mm thick
Why?
Ali Amber because 3mm isn't that easy to cut... You can also see at 0:24 where he is using a ruler, that the plates are not even close to 3mm... I'm pretty sure it's less than 1mm, so he probably meant 0.3mm
Plz, can u tell me can i use tin or aluminium
Ali Amber I am not sure about that... I think you should try with aluminium and see if it works
3mm is too thick! :D 0.3mm sounds better
Sweet...totally about to steal my parent's wifi from across the road
Looks like you could steal it from across the town
You rocked the wifi router bro 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
This will take off..I can tell..
Free wifi when needed.. no worries.
Make a bigger one next time.. using bathtubs as your metal plates.. you'd probably be able to cover the whole country.
Yeah. Illegal in most of the Western world.
Gary Stinten (
Nothing is illegal if you dont do anything stupid. building a huge antenna may be theoretically illegal, but if you dont use it on somebody else, then should be fine.
The physics would not work. The behavior of the antenna is based on the size and spacing of the disks. Along with that, radio waves at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz travel by line of sight, they won't make it past the horizon.
what is this antenna called?
Try adding a little bit of cerosine and lighting it on fire, it increases its power like crazy!
3D maniac kerosene but I like your comment nonetheless
"Wait a few seconds, smartphone needs to find" most Russian thing I have ever heard
Increase the scale of antenna, add a wideband power amp between the atnetta and usbwifi module. You should be able to receive it from another city
If you make your own business of this you will get a lot of money trust me everyone will buy it
I built it very accurately and works as a signal jammer.. where is problem ? :/
my school is only 400 meters from my house if I make this I can enjoy home wifi from school. THIS IS TOO POWERFUL
If between school and your home is not a skyscraper or other house, it is easy to catch the signal.
@@ВасилийИванов-х2в there is not, and my class is in 2nd floor so its easier to catch the signal
