  • How to connect Upfitter switches on a 2003-2007 Ford Super Duty: Here is a somewhat simple and quick video explaining exactly how to connect your upfitter switches to accessories: fog lights, light bars, high idle etc. Hopefully you find it helpful. If not then I guess you can continue your search. Felt cute, might delete later IDK.

    AWESOME never needed them but now I do and I was wondering how the heck do you connect them, would have been nice if Ford would have simply went ahead and connected the passthrus to the switches... geeze

    Thank you for this video. One question and perhaps I'm being lazy and it might say so in my owners manual but are the switches already set up to relays in the fuse block? I'm looking to install the same light bar

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  3 роки тому +2

      The relay/fuse box for the switches is behind the glove box compartment. So while they're not set to the fuse box itself, they are set to a fuse and relay panel

    Thabjnuou brother thank you…to confirm…it’s ok to use Aux 3 (10 amp) for a light bar?

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  Рік тому

      That's hard to say for sure, as it depends on the size and wattage needed for the lightbar. (10a x 12v = 120w) so if it's 100w or less I would think it would be fine. The closer to 120w you get, the higher chance of popping the fuse

    Random question…the harness that the aux wires and sticker on has a white connector at the end, and wasn’t plugged into anything and I couldn’t find a plug for it to go into. Is that normal??

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  Рік тому

      If I'm understanding your question correctly, the wires with the sticker on it should be wired to your aux switches through the main harness. They are already powered through the fuse box I believe. So you'd essentially connect the positive wire of whatever accessory you're installing to that wire, (assuming it is indeed connected to harness) then grounding it somewhere to compete the circuit for the switch. I hope that helps

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  Рік тому

      Unless if you are talking about the passthrough wires up higher. Those are not connected to anything, they are simply there to make it easier to add an accessory to the outside of the vehicle, while being able to connect the inside part to one of the aux switch wires

    What switches can you use and where do you install them in the dash panel?

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  7 місяців тому

      If your vehicle doesn't already have the upfitter switches, you can buy any switch/button panel and install it

    What did you end up grounding the light to??

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  3 роки тому +2

      Sorry for the late reply. I grounded it to the bracket of the bumper. There was a screw there so I backed it out a little and connected it to that and tightened screw back down. Any metal surface that's connected to the frame in some way will work though.

    Will this allow for Ford switch panel??? Or need to splice the wiring in?

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  Рік тому +1

      If you're talking about the Ford switches that are pre-installed in the vehicle, yes.

      @supert3765 want sure if the plugs were there or not in the harness

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  Рік тому +1

      Ah yes, there will be power already hard wired to the aux switches. It's just a matter of connecting those to either the pass thru wires, or to your own wires (that then attach to whatever you're connecting)

    What do I do if I have intiror light bar for plowing and I want it to the aux switch?

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  3 роки тому +1

      If it's inside, you could just run the positive wire from the light bar to the aux switch wires (the labeled wires under dash) and not use the pass through wires (red, blue, black etc) then just find a place to ground the other wire from light bar

    10 cuss words and a tantrum. I'm connecting a CB inside the cab and my Aux switches are already hot so I'm thinking 2 cuss words and no tantrum.

    Which wire controls the high idle I get conflicting info

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  7 місяців тому

      It's the purple with green stripe wire. Just attach that to your number four upfitter switch (which is orange with blue stripe) You'll need to have the ebrake pushed down for it to work

    Does this only work if they come from ford with it? I want to add them to my 04 f550

    • @supertrenty
      @supertrenty  2 роки тому

      You should be able to wire it close to the same. You would maybe have to run the hot wire directly through the firewall to the battery, or to the fuse panel. Then the other wire to the accessory. However, I think all models have the wires, but you'd have to check under the hood for the pass through wires, and the fuse panel for the hot wires.
