  • The Lower Dash panel is from a 2001 F650, it is probably best to find one in a junk yard or search eBay. I did have to use a Dremel to cut the opening up a bit to fit the new dash panel.
    I purchased the switch plate from Riffraft Diesel www.riffraffdiesel.com/riffra...
    The switches are Carling Technologies Contura V and custom switch plates can be purchased here: newwiremarine.com/product/cus...
    The Heated Mirror Controller came from Amazon, I cut the switch wire and soldered spaded terminals on it: amzn.to/3FR1q88
    The Strobe Flasher is made by Sho-Me, also from Amazon: amzn.to/33TTmG0
    The solid state Flasher for blinking the switch lights: amzn.to/3FR1Awg
    Blocking diodes used: amzn.to/3KlCY1U
    Only if you have LED clearance lights pulling less than 1 amp combined, you may need bigger blocking diodes depending on your lights!

    Well done. This has made me realize that I'm not the only one who wants things to be clean and just so in my truck. I'm working on a similar thing with a custom switch panel/circuit board that mounts to the left of the steering wheel in that open space where the electronic 4wd switch usually goes. Excellent work, really clean.

    Super neat installation! Loving that truck!!!

      Thanks! It has been a really fun project! For an old beat up truck, it is starting to look pretty good. At least from my perspective, but I have poor vision and I'm color blind. :D

    This is incredible! You clearly have an advanced knowledge of electronics and have taken the time to carefully and neatly plan out your installation. Those small custom features you added to have your set up exactly how you want it are impressive! Very well done.
    I came across your videos because I plan to do a similar setup in my truck. I have an F150 with the "raptor" grille which has 3 marker lights in the center. I plan to tie them in to the flasher with the roof markers I will be installing so they will both flash the same.

    Thank you for the video! Your setup is really nice. I got the same switch panel for my F350 and I was trying to source a plate for the switches. Thanks for the link to RiffRaff Diesel and the great ideas!

    Could you explain more one how you wired the strobe lights on the roof and how you isolated them from the running lights?

    Any chance that you have a wire diagram for wiring the cab light strobes. Looking to do this to a class 8 truck. I have most of the harness figured out but having a difficult time figuring out where exactly I need diodes.

    Really enjoy your videos! I have a F550 myself and I have always wondered if the F650 dash panel would fit and provide clearance for the zf6 shifter as my truck is a manual. Do you have any idea?

      Looks like you loose about 4 inches of space compared to the existing dash. Now sure if that will be in the way or not.

      This panel is specifically for an automatic transmission. I do believe there is a panel for a manual transmission that doesn't stick out as far.

    You certainly have done a great job with the gadgetry on that panel. How do you size the diode? I'm planning a wig wag on my led parking lamps that would be controlled by two separate switches. I'm also considering the strobe controller you are using for those two parking lamps.
    Great job as always. Thanks for the fun!

      The diodes are 1N4001. I chose them because they are what I already had in my electronics collection and plenty big enough at 1 amp, 50 volts. Here is a link to them on Amazon: amzn.to/3KlCY1U Keep in mind you will need to use blocking diodes on your parking lamps as well. I haven't sourced what I will be using for those yet, but I'll probably stick with something a bit overkill, probably 3 amp, 50 volts.

      They worked out great! I use them a lot and they are much appreciated! On the New Wire Marine website, there is a place to make your own switch covers, that is how I made some of mine. Can you show the wiring for the heated mirror switch to blink?

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  2 роки тому

      I don't really have a wiring diagram, I just wired it on the fly as it was sitting on my workbench. Basically those orange boxes are just flashers and when you put them in series with a light bulb, they make the bulb flash.

  • @tookey2249
    @tookey2249 Рік тому +1

    So you basically wired a new white wire from the 2nd and 4th cab lights and connecting that to the blue wire on the strobe kit? What about the yellow wire?
    Wouldn’t you want to connect the blue wire to one cab lights and the yellow to another?
    And you just connect 12v power to the cab light harness plug correct?

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  Рік тому

      I can't say I really remember to be honest. The wires I ran were just what I had on hand, the colors were insignificant. I basically just followed the manufacturers directions that came with the sequencer.

    With your clearance lights, do the clearence lights come on normally when the headlights are on and only strobe when you hit the swtich? I would love to do this to my truck for plowing, but dont' want to lose my regular clearance light operation.

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  Рік тому +1

      Yes, they work as normal unless I hit the strobe switch. I used Diodes to isolate the circuit.
