Do you have an unpopular opinion regarding the Harry Potter books / films? Leave it down below! Thanks for watching... also - whilst I have your attention, you're going to want to keep a look out for my next video (Saturday). I'll be announcing something VERY exciting!
Personally, I believe Harry's greatest father figure has always been Remus. He's the one who truly looked after him. Sirius was great, but sometimes viewed Harry as a replacement James and I can't say Sirius as a person is/would be a perfect father. Hagrid has always seemed to be the fun uncle to me, and I wouldn't ever consider Dumbledore to be a father figure for Harry. He's more of a loony and wise grandfather..
definitely, but i don't think it was Sirius's fault. I don't think he was completely mentally stable cuz he did his waiting! Twelve years of it, in Azkaban!
Sirius was definitely more of a father figure. Hagrid was more of the fun, but sometimes irresponsible, uncle (I mean, there was the whole dragon thing...).
ya i agree but sometimes sirius could be a bit irresponsible and tend to treat harry more like james than he should've. sirius is still my fave character but molly weasley had a point in the 5th book.
However Sirius was loving and cherished Harry because he’s his dads son, he even treated him like James. Hagrid has ties to Harry and yet was nurturing to him.
I feel like Sirius' view of Harry as a James-figure was really more an invention of the *MOVIES* . Sirius is far more fatherly in the books, continuing to send Harry letters using "tropical birds" to keep him amused when he is stuck with the Dursleys, living in a cave during 4th year to keep a close eye on Harry during the Triwizard Tournament, INSISTING that Harry leave the Department of Mysteries even though he wanted to fight. I think the film version of Gary Oldman calling Harry "James" by mistake really stuck in peoples' memories and made them forget book-Sirius, who tended to treat Harry like a child in need of protection and emotional support through adolescence. In contrast, the fact that Hagrid habitually places Harry in great harm (Aragog, Grawp, night visits, PLUS, being so personally insulted that Harry and Ron don't continue taking Care of Magical Creatures in 6th year that he actively ignores them for weeks.) makes Hagrid a lovable but ultimately immature figure. Rather than the misplaced feelings for James shown in the movies, the biggest issue in Sirius and Harry's relationship in the *BOOK* is the former's battle with depression/cabin fever/residual Azkaban trauma while he is confined in Grimauld place. This causes Sirius to secretly hope for Harry's expulsion following the Dementor attack, which also makes him feel guilty and causes him to pull away from Harry. He becomes emotionally and physically distant. This issue stems from loneliness, rather than Sirius not appreciating the fact that Harry is a young adolescent.
Hagrid ignored children by disign to make them come and share their opinions and thoughts openly. He knew that Trio wouldn't attend his classes before the 1th of September. Siri wasn't distant. Harry and he didn't have safe ways of communication before the mirror. And Harry immediately forgot about it, but not about code for entrance of MOM
Sirius: “Get your hands of my God son” Mama Weasley/Mama bear: Not my daughter I b**ch Best lines in the movie represents parents really well if their children are in danger ☺️
AND on top of that in the movies in the battle of the department of mysteries Sirius slips up and says to Harry “Nice one James!” It really shows how much Sirius loves James and Harry
But also, regarding the no toilets thing, if there were no toilets there how did Salazar Slytherin build the Chamber of Secrets in the plumbing if there was no plumbing?
wasn't it said in the books that the creature didn't always use the plumbing? The girls bathroom wasn't built to hide the chamber of secrets but was unknowingly built on top of it. My guess is that Slytherin was a bit of a misogynist.
Whiterun Guard you have a good point, however that doesn’t explain the entrance to the chamber being in the girls bathroom with a snake on the right sink? Sure, there might be another entrance, there probably is, but why would there also be an entrance in the girls bathroom where there is a snake on the correct sink to speak parseltounge to? Hope you are well! ☺️
AND to strengthen this point in the movies in the battle of the department of mysteries Sirius lets slip and accidently says “Nice one James!” To Harry
@@l5098 yashh actually, it really breaks my heart a little bit because it really dissapointing to hear it and i really like sirius him self (the character) because what he do to harry (carring, etc) 😿
About the brooms one...no one cared when Harry was mysteriously gifted an expensive broom because he was in Gryffindor, but the second Malfoy gifts the entire team the new Nimbus it's all of a sudden an unfair advantage?
That's only in movies though. In book when he got the Firebolt, Hermione told McGonagall and she confiscated the broom (even though Harry protested) and got it checked by several professors if it's not cursed or something.
The thing is Malfoy bought brooms for the whole team to buy his way into the team, not cause he was the most talented seeker they could find. Harry was gifted the firebolt after he was already on the team and he certainly didnt need it to keep his spot on the team.
I agree, Im also in a Magical Bubble. Who said its over? Its alive as long as theres a community, everytime you read the books, wear your shirts, wave your wands, watch the movies, etc. I feel like its basically timeless now!
Yeah and more people are coming in I havent watched all the movies but I've watched some of them and I've read up to partway through goblet of fire Also if theres a fandom, theres a harry potter crossover fanfiction
umbridge is better than snape. snape killed a person, probably quite a few seeing as how he’s a death eater. umbridge on the other hand did not. snape was also obsessive over a dead, married woman.
I agree, though I don't find screenplays too hard to read. I think it just takes away from the magic of the books. I mean, part of the magic Is the descriptions and Harry's emotions.
Pamela Allen I think the films made it seem more like that. Imo Sirius knew well that Harry is not James, that he is his godson and his own person but Sirius knew that Harry is just as capable as James and wanted to treat Harry as suchvjh
Dobby’s death is devastating but I think that Fred’s death is the worst. Molly and Arthur losing a son and George losing his TWIN.. brb I’ll go cry in the corner
The proof the time turners were a bad idea? "Oops, they all broke. Can't use them anymore" "Couldn't we make more?" "Can't use them anymore." "Couldn't we borrow one from another country?" "CAN'T USE THEN ANYMORE!!"
@@veeasaurus Actually, it wouldn't have worked. The cursed child completely ruined the whole time turner plot and changed it completely. The main idea of the time turner was "what is done is done". Basically, when Harry and Hermione went back in time, they didn't change anything that hadn't already happened. They just made sure that it actually happens. For eg. In their time, they thought buckbeak was dead but he already escaped. They just heard the executer go there. And when Remus, as a werewolf was going to attack them, he heard a howl in the forest and went there. When, they went back in time, they freed Buckbeak so that he could escape. And then they made the noises in the forest to attract Remus towards them and leave their past selves alone. So, technically no matter what. They still would have died. The cursed child just wrote whatever they wanted to, I mean half the characters were so OOC.
@@anyabajaj07 geez thats an old comment, yeah i agree with you completely my comment was that in the order of the pheonix, the amount of time turners they described seemed like a lot. and if they were able to fit inside a necklace at least a couple wouldve made it . regardless the cursed child literally did whatever it wanted to like you daid
Mainly all the DADA teachers. Year 5 and Year 7 weren’t his fault though. But couldn’t he see that Gilderoy was a fraud? He saw past Riddle easily and Lockhart’s just full of himself.
How can you say that!!!! Tell me one thing what profit he would gain by using Harry What he did was for the welfare of whole wizarding world Dumbledore loved harrry so much (And sorry for my english)
Varda Kazmi yes yes definitely a good point but... Dumbledore always knew in the end Harry had to die for the welfare of the wizarding world/ Voldemort to die. The one turning point where he had hope for Harry was where Voldemort came back to life and used Harry’s blood to resurrect himself, so the love protection lived in Voldemort. (this is just a theory that I think is a good one) don’t attack me
Varda Kazmi thanks lol also I just realized that my explaining was horrible when I was talking about the love protection. So I was saying how Harry would have the protection as long as he called 4 Privet Drive his home (until 17 or 18 I’m not completely sure). Dumbledore knew he would have to die when Voldemort was at his weakest point. But in goblet of fire, when Peter Pettigrew resurrected Voldemort, they used Harry’s blood as part of the potion thing. So then Voldemort could touch Harry but it also meant that the protection lived in Voldemort even if Harry didn’t call the Dursley’s house his home. This is where the ultimate plan changed, Dumbledore knew Harry had to die but since one of them had to kill each other, he knew that when Harry sacrificed himself, he wouldn’t fully “die” because of the love protection in Voldemort’s blood. So what I’m trying to say is that Dumbledore was less of a father figure but more of a guardian/mentor as he always knew what fate Harry had to face in the end. So yea quoting Snape: “You’ve been raising him like a pig for slaughter” But that’s not 100% true as I explained above.
I feel like hagrid is more of an uncle figure or a older brother figure to Harry then a father figure, he was always looking out for him but never super invested and always lived his own life but serious did everything for Harry and truly loved Harry like a dad but with hagrid it was a bit more chill Thank you for listening to my ted talk
Ravenclaw, here! My issue with merchandise is: blue and silver effing raven. I want a bronze eagle. So I am between ravenclaw and Gryffindor, so I but mainly Gryffindor Merch when it comes to licensed. Etsy and fan made stuff I go with the book style ravenclaw
Yeah it's not that hard to get the colors and animal right. Geez. I think even the movies got it wrong. Idk how this mistake just spread like a wildfire.
But was Sirius’ love for Harry or for James? He didn’t know Harry. Hagrid loved Harry for Harry and always tried his best to care for him and put his needs first. That sounds more fatherly to me 🤷🏻♀️
@@hermione3639 hmmm you can say the same thing about Ron, that thought sitting with Harry Potter on the train is cool and he kind of liked him for that, but Hagrid and Ron both liked Harry for who he is and were ever there for him at the end, after they knew him and loved him as a friend. With all of my love to Sirius (and that's a lot), he always saw Harry as "the second James".
@@mika-kv6tz u are right but my point was that those people(including Ron)started liking harry because of his parents or his fame but eventually came to care for the real harry . I think that at f
Irst sirius did view Harry as the second james but that changed overtime . Surely Sirius musnt have thought he was the second James when harry was disgusted by James behaviour in Snapes memories. And lets not forget that Sirius was there for Harry too and warned him against doing dangerous stuff . Oof sorry this was long lol
e m So? Hagrid still viewed Harry as an individual instead of an extension of James. Our family members care for us because we’re born to our parents too. So I’m missing your point here.,
Omg yessss!!! I was recently rereading the series and I couldn't help but swoon every time Victor tried to catch Hermione's attention. Sadly she wasn't ever interested 😥 I'm also a huge Fremione and Runa shipper 😍
I for one think Augusta Longbottom should've become the DADA teacher. She has loads of experience, being a veteran of TWO magical wars and an accomplished duelist. Harry would've been a great choice too, but he's got his hands full with the whole "being an Auror" thing.
Yes, but certain districts are wealthier than other districts here in the US. Some of the high schools’ athletic facilities here in the south are ridiculous, while other schools are using the same equipment from 10 yrs ago.
Unpopular opinion: Hated how they did Severus Snape's memories in the Deathly Hallows Part 2. In the book, she EMPHASIZES Severus' terrible choices he made-you emphasize with his loss, but you don't forget he's a gray character and how his actions lead to that loss. In the movie they really paint him to be a tragic hero. He's NOT a hero-he's at most an amoral hero or anti hero. I gotta wonder if Albus Severus met Severus Snape's portrait if all his insecurities would vanish or amplify tenfold.
Cedric’s death is the only one i cried over in the films, for the same reason as Cherry 😭 I cried during the audiobooks a few times too (which i listened to at work 🤣 good thing it was a family business haha) and I also cried listening to Ginny’s commentary in the audiobook version of ‘Quiditch though the ages’ as she was talking about how great some beaters where and i made me think that she was thinking about Fred and George and i cried. I’m an emotional wee bear.
I really like the canon ships and they really work Ron and hermione kind of started to actually have feelings for eachother back in their 3rd year And harry and ginny are just great together and both relationships developed really well It's not as out of the blue as it seems
Don't know if necessarily unpopular.. But I don't like Dumbledore! I think he is controlling, manipulating and puts way too much pressure on children, especially Harry. Of course he is a mastermind and genius, but I really don't like him and his way to solve things 🤷🏼♀️
I'd love to have a friendly debate over that because I really like Dumbledore's character. Please do elaborate how he was manipulating and controlling.
Mine: Voldemort having a kid with Bellatrix actually makes complete sense. Siring an heir in order for them to bring him back to life in case the horcruxes fail is a pretty ”Voldemort” thing to do.
@@Marcedonia not love Voldemort used bellatrix and never valued her as "love". He used her to create delphini so that if anything goes wrong they could have a second chanace
But he doesn't expect the horcruxes to fail, he's got so many. He's powerful and commands an army. He doesn't understand love, he doesn't feel love. He would never do such an act with Bellatrix
@@brelonwy he could’ve deviced this ”plan b” once he learned Harry was after the horcruxes and was capable to destroy a few. And as said before, you don’t need to feel love to concieve a child. He could’ve well just looked at it as a ”something to get over with” rather than an expression of love. There could also well be love potion envolved since the books do describe Voldemort and Bellatrix as having somekind of feelings toward each other
@@TRtherocknroller He didn't recognize that Harry was hunting for horcruxes until they got to the Hufflepuff cup (I think) and there is no way for them to have a child before the Battle of Hogwarts if that's the case. Plus, a child goes against everything, he would never commit such an act, whether for love or not, it's not who he is. Voldemort believes he's immortal, he is not about to conceive a child. Also the Cursed Child isn't considered canon by fans sooo
Personally I do not like how Dumbledore’s personality ended up in the last few books and it kind of made me hate him for it. I loved him and his character seemed so amazing to me just to have him make Harry into a pig to slaughter 🤷🏼♀️
Harry WASN'T a pig for slaughter, that's what Snape said because he didn't know Dumbledore's full plan. Dumbledore said that to make Harry believe that he was going to sacrifice his life for all the people fighting against Voldermot. Dumbledore couldn't tell Harry that he wouldn't really die(he didn't) only that he would have to let Voldermot kill him so that it kills the last horcrux attached to Harry. The main reason for Dumbledore to not tell Harry because was because the protection charm couldn't work if Harry knew. After Harry walked to Voldermot and allowed him to kill him without fighting(like Lily did), it placed a protection charm on all those fighting against Voldermot (you may have noticed no one died after that, even Neville whose head was put on fire) also they could break through Voldermot's silence charm that Harry noted.
Sorry for the long paragraph 😅 but I had to make sure you didn't think Harry was a pig for slaughter. Also J.K Rowling showed through Dumbledore's character how your past mistakes don't define you. Dumbledore may have been power driven in his teen years but he did a lot of great stuff to rectify it later, for example help stop two of the darkest wizards.
Here is some characters I think should have been in different houses Harry- Slytherin Hermione- Ravenclaw Ginny- Slytherin Neville- Hufflepuff McGonagall- Ravenclaw Hagrid- Hufflepuff Wormtail- Slytherin lol I just realized they are all Gryffindors😅
Sirius was more of a father figure! He loved Harry so much and died trying to protect him. Hagrid was Harry’s friend/ lovable uncle. To this day I will never forgive Rowling for killing Sirius.
but killing sirius means that he gets to be with james. sirius obviously was in so much pain because of his best friend's death and it just makes sense for the marauders to be together again.
But the Hagrid thing, in the battle, how they hugged after and him carrying his body was so sad I saw all of them as father figures but after Sirius dies is when you truly notice it
A few of my unpopular opinions: The whole Rita Skeeter thing Regulus Black’s story. It is so incredibly moving and anyone who has only seen the films will see regulus as a bad character when he is such an incredible person! The St Mungo’s scene in OOTP. When Neville is meeting his parents and he keeps his mum’s gum wrapper. IT IS SO MOVING AND BEAUTIFUL! This is a common opinion but Ginny in the films. Bruh. I think Bonnie did an incredible job but in the books she is so savage and is so strong, whereas in the films she just says ‘shoelace’ and is Harry’s awkward girlfriend. HEDWIG’S DEATH. Harry literally doesn’t care. It broke my heart Harmione had way more chemistry than Romione In the films, I shipped Luna and Harry more than Harry and Ginny Neville should’ve killed Bella Cursed child is just.. no Philosophers stone just isn’t it Draco had a choice. I’m sorry, it’s just that Sirius’ family were all Slytherin and supported Voldemort so why should Draco be excused? Gary Oldman looked fricking incredible for his age. I lowkey have a crush on Sirius black and I’m a 13 year old girl Nymphadora is so underrated Wolfstar was real no one can tell me otherwise Harry is kinda scary Voldy is a nose-less, bald, pathetic villain Ravenclaw and hufflepuff are overlooked so much Lavender Brown and Cho Chang get way too much hate. They were young girls who were genuinely in love Michael Gambon was awful Harry and Ginny’s kids have horrendous names Percy should’ve died Harmione’s hugs were way more passionate than Harry and ginnys kisses KREACHER!
About Kreacher and Regulus' story, IT SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE MOVIES. Like did you remember in Deathly Hallows pt 1 the scene where Harry and Hermione danced? It was lovely and all, but it took up a lot of time that could be enough to tell Kreacher's tale! And I definetely agree with the St. Mungo's scene about Neville and his mother, it's VERY touching
A LOT of people agree with the Cursed Child being a bit bad and Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff being overlooked, so I wouldnt day those 2 were unpopular, but the others are! (This is just my opinoin)
I agree with the Remus comment and Arthur too. Remus and Arthur loved him for who he was, not because he was James's son. Hagrid is an amazing uncle. I like Sirius but he wasn't Harry's last family member or adult figure.
Yes. I always wonder why the ministry didnt just use oclumancy on Harry during all the instances they didnt believe him. But, everyone says there wouldnt be much of a story without the ministry backlash.
that would've gone badly for harry. many of them thought he was lying, but there were just as many that thought he was psychotic. rita skeeter published an article suggesting that the curse that failed to kill him may have caused some prolonged brain damage. so if they used occlumency or truth potion, fudge would think this would just be memories of some psychotic episode and mental delusion, so he would've had harry committed. he was looking for any opportunity to expel harry (Umbridge made that attempt with the dementors) so he would've jumped at any opportunity to twist things and have harry declared legally insane and locked up
Can we just talk about how flawless Cherry's hair always is?! It's so smooth and straight and like too unproblematic for this world. K, that's the end of my rant, thanks for your time.
I feel like Arthur and Remus are/were the best father figures in Harry’s life. They can be fun and sweet but also get strict at certain times. All dads should be a mix. Umbridge is a great antagonist but not a villain. She isn’t evil. She’s just extremely cruel.
I guess you could say that about Umbridge but I personally do think that she was evil. Many Death Eaters can’t produce Patronuses and that’s bc they don’t have enough happy memories (sad ik) and Snape is one of the only ones that can actually produce one. In the last book, Umbridge is wearing the Horcrux locket which actually prevented Harry from producing his Patronus and she is also surrounded by Dementors and she produced her Patronus Charm. She was interrogating a half blood woman and about to take her wand (bc at the time the Ministry had a thing against non pure bloods) and she was able to produce her charm. This means that seeing someone suffer, even though she was wearing the locket and was surrounded by Dementors, made her so happy that she could produce her Patronus charm. Pretty evil.
I was thinking that instead of a 12 hour Harry Potter movie with every detail from the books, why not just make a Harry Potter episode series WITH EVERY DETAIL FROM THE BOOKS???? WOULDN THAT BE SO COOL!
Ravenclaw here. You absolutely can "choose" your house on Pottermore, the sorting hat quiz is so easy to game and most of the answers are clear what house they represent. But maybe that is the reason why I'm in ravenclaw.
My unpopular opinion I´v never cared about Ginny Weasley. Pairing her with Harry to me felt like it was more about making his connections with Weasley´s even stronger and giving Harry the family he always wanted to be part of. For a long time I wished that Harry would have ended up with Luna since I found her more interesting than Ginny but I also ship Harry and Luna as friends.
@@Ray-hk1zm yeah she was much better character in the books but maybe she was so downplayed in the films was because the script writer wanted Harry to end up with Hermione. In the books at least Harry and Hermione have more brother/sister dynamics. I kinda wish JK would have build a better base for Harry and Ginny, like she did with Ron and Hermione.
I’m glad draco didn’t get a redemption arch , he never showed interest on being on the “good side “ , he never attempted it , yes he got cold feet when Voldemort returned cuz he was scared , the malfoys in general didn’t wanted to be a part of death eaters anymore but that doesn’t mean they wanted to switch sides and join Harry , they just wanted to be left alone , that’s not a redemption arch nor a tease at one
Do you know how Harry bought the whole trolley remember he was in the last carriage so everybody must have got what they wanted and if they didn’t then too bad lol
I agree about the Auror thing. No doubt, Harry is a fantastic Auror. But, I would have been happier if he'd come to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. I mean, who would be better to teach these kids than The Boy Who Lived?! Also, I always knew I was a Gryffindor *my whole family are Gryffindors* and I got sorted by Pottermore several years ago into Gryffindor. My roommate is a Slytherin.
In my opinion - Hagrid *was* more a father figure to Harry than Sirius! Or Dumbledore! In Philosopher stone “ it’s not everyday your young man turns 11!” Literally the second time he’s met harry. Has probably spent every day thinking of that little boy. Hagrid carried him to safety as a baby, was the one who showed him into the Wizarding world, remembered his birthday and baked him a cake, bought him his first pet, constantly invited him around for tea and chats to make sure he wasn’t lonely, cheered him at every quidditch game, visited him at hospital, always got him Christmas presents even when he didn’t have much to give, saved Harry during the death eater chase, and countless more. He may not have been the most powerful or closest family relation but he was *the* most constant, friendly, reassuring figure in Harry’s life.
People will disagree with me. I already know. Lockhart is a Ravenclaw. Peter Petigrew is a Gryfindor. and this is the one people most disagree on. Bellatrix is in Hufflepuff. She is loyal. like Sirius said in TOOTP (order of the Phoenix) there are good sides and bad sides to people, and in this case houses. There is also an extreme to each house, and in this case Bellatrix has an overly loyal loyalty to Vold- sorry he who must not be named, and would do anything to help him kill Harry. also if Bella ruled over the death eaters, Harry would have been dead by the second book. Let me know if you agree! Also Love You Cherry!! new subscriber btw :)
If I’m being completely honest I didn’t cry a ton when most of the characters died within the series I did still cry but I balled when Dobby died. Something about Dobby just felt so different and unique I couldn’t stand it when he passed.😔
Hagrid brought harry to his uncles Introduced him to what he was Took him away when needed Was their protecting him in DHP1 linking to taking him away when it was time And literally saw him grow up ( with Ron and Hermione ) all through the years and stood by him. I'd say he had a big part to play.
Hagrid's the only father figure that didnt have any ulterior motives in regards to his relationship with Harry. Dumbledore had the whole greater good plan for defeating Voldemort, and Sirius was projecting James Potter onto Harry. not saying they didnt care for him, just that Hagrid wasnt sending Harry invites to his hut for tea justso Harry would have mail for some underlying personal gain. He just cared about Harry's emotional wellbeing
I so wasn't going to follow you but you genuinely made me laugh with this video. I'll be honest, I really wanted to be a Gryffindor but then I did the pottermore quiz and was sorted into Hufflepuff. I was gutted then read many of the qualities and traits of the house and I thought, you know what. I am totally a Hufflepuff... Haven't looked back once. I try and get my hands on as much Hufflepuff merch as I can!
Nah, Snape sucks. And he didn’t have anything to live for after Voldemort was defeated anyway. He wasted his life pining for Lily, which is immature, creepy, and ridiculous, and then only helped fight Voldemort because he was attempting to avenger her.
For me it was sirius. He's my favourite character, i hoped for a redemption arc for him, and after i figured out harry could use the mirror shard to see he's okay, i litteraly cried for an hour (after i read the book)
Always wanted to say: in fifth book Dobby came to the requirement room and warned Harry that Umbrige is coming... why Dobby did not appparate with students to help them to escape? It could save everyone’s life and Dumbledore would not leave Hogwarts. Also, I don’t see how Sirius had father role... I felt that Sirius treated Harry as equal and Harry was trusting him more than friend but less than father because he was not afraid asking him questions. Lupin was more uncle and Hagrid was friend. I feel Author and Molly had more parenting figure in relationship to Harry.
Harry wasn't able to use liquid luck 'cause in the book it says you can only do that once or twice in a lifetime and he already took it in Harry Potter 6
Dubledore one did represent the character of Dumbledore portrayed in the books better than two. But one wouldn't have done such a good job in the later films but he was a great fit for the first two
This might be an unpopular opinion but: I think that had Draco not been born into the Malloy family, then he and Harry would’ve been literally best friends. HOWEVER, I do not ship Drarry, but if anyone wants to try and change my mind go ahead
Deaths that hit me hardest (spoiler alert): 1. Sirius Black 2. Fred Weasley 3. Remus Lupin 4. Dobby 5. Cedric Diggory 6. Hedwig 7. Nymphadora Tonks 8. Album Dumbledore 9. Severus Snape 10. Regulus Black 11. Pandora Lovegood 12. The Longbottom parents 13. Lavender Brown

Hi! Love you! First reply,
OMG I love your videos! I think its better to read the book first then watch the movie. In the movie they didnt include Winke and it made me mad
People think Ron is an absolute prick but I think he's just a hurting soul who needs a slap across the face and then a good hug
Cherry Wallis love you ❣️❣️
Love you cherry 🍒🥰
I would consider Arthur Weasley a father figure to Harry too. Along with James, Sirius, Remus, Hagrid, and Dumbledore.
Dumbledore sucked as a father figure
Damn. Harry had a lot of daddies.
Dumbledor is kinda cruel tho he use Harry as a weapon
YESSS FR
Definitely agree
Personally, I believe Harry's greatest father figure has always been Remus. He's the one who truly looked after him. Sirius was great, but sometimes viewed Harry as a replacement James and I can't say Sirius as a person is/would be a perfect father. Hagrid has always seemed to be the fun uncle to me, and I wouldn't ever consider Dumbledore to be a father figure for Harry. He's more of a loony and wise grandfather..
I agree!
definitely, but i don't think it was Sirius's fault. I don't think he was completely mentally stable cuz he did his waiting! Twelve years of it, in Azkaban!
Umm..noo it's def hagrid. Think about it
Jas L agreement
Dumbledoor is that grandmas aunt who is always sorta dancing
Sirius was definitely more of a father figure. Hagrid was more of the fun, but sometimes irresponsible, uncle (I mean, there was the whole dragon thing...).
That's So Landrum exactly! The ‘uncle’ analogy works very well with Hagrid 🙌🏻
Also I have the feeling he was a best friend. Harry never put Hagrid on a pedestal. They always were on the same level.
ya i agree but sometimes sirius could be a bit irresponsible and tend to treat harry more like james than he should've. sirius is still my fave character but molly weasley had a point in the 5th book.
He does remind me of my uncle a bit haha
Agreed, I always see Hagrid as Beign that Cool Uncle, But not as a Father
I'm too lazy to read everything so-
Ok
yours is the first most accurately summed up version of sirius i have ever read, kudos to u mate
"SPOILER ALERT Sirius died"
Like minutes after you talked about how sad Sirius' death was xD

Sirius: “Get your hands of my God son”
Mama Weasley/Mama bear: Not my daughter I b**ch
Best lines in the movie represents parents really well if their children are in danger ☺️
I was really surprised when she said that. She had just lost one of her sons and Bellatrix had the nerve to mock her.
emily madren yup
AND on top of that in the movies in the battle of the department of mysteries Sirius slips up and says to Harry “Nice one James!” It really shows how much Sirius loves James and Harry
ᑕєlєѕтє well, Harry’s middle name IS James, but I also find your detail profound.
Its actually "get away from my godson" just pointing that out
But also, regarding the no toilets thing, if there were no toilets there how did Salazar Slytherin build the Chamber of Secrets in the plumbing if there was no plumbing?
Honestly, good question...
wasn't it said in the books that the creature didn't always use the plumbing? The girls bathroom wasn't built to hide the chamber of secrets but was unknowingly built on top of it.
My guess is that Slytherin was a bit of a misogynist.
@@prigg88 I believe this as well....
Paige Makepeace ohhh yeeasssgg
Whiterun Guard you have a good point, however that doesn’t explain the entrance to the chamber being in the girls bathroom with a snake on the right sink? Sure, there might be another entrance, there probably is, but why would there also be an entrance in the girls bathroom where there is a snake on the correct sink to speak parseltounge to? Hope you are well! ☺️
To me, Sirius basically saw Harry as James incarnate. Hagrid cared about Harry just because he was Harry.
Hagrid was just an all-round nice guy, and cared for many people. One of my fav characters, and he is never mean to anyone.
Buffy Cary TOTALLY i totally agree but i still LOVE sirius no matter what

About the brooms one...no one cared when Harry was mysteriously gifted an expensive broom because he was in Gryffindor, but the second Malfoy gifts the entire team the new Nimbus it's all of a sudden an unfair advantage?
That's only in movies though. In book when he got the Firebolt, Hermione told McGonagall and she confiscated the broom (even though Harry protested) and got it checked by several professors if it's not cursed or something.
@@callie3444 Exactly. There's also the fact that he otherwise wouldn't have one at all.
The thing is Malfoy bought brooms for the whole team to buy his way into the team, not cause he was the most talented seeker they could find. Harry was gifted the firebolt after he was already on the team and he certainly didnt need it to keep his spot on the team.

Everyone is so rude to the actor who plays Umbridge.
People being rude to the actor is unacceptable.
Imagine playing a character so well that people hate you for it. She was just doing her job so idk why people can’t just chill.
umbridge is better than snape. snape killed a person, probably quite a few seeing as how he’s a death eater. umbridge on the other hand did not. snape was also obsessive over a dead, married woman.
I watched a movie with her as an actor, and she’s amazing! Hate the character, love the actor!

Lord Quinn well i like that they are scripts cuz i like acting

"CAN'T USE THEN ANYMORE!!"
Carl Rood I know- at least ONE would have survived.

"Dumbledore stood everywhere... whaddaya want me to do, float?" XD
When watching the films, I was convinced the Dumbledore was going to be revealed as a bad guy because he kept hiring evil teachers.
If I'm gonna be completely honest, it's not that much of his own fault...
Mainly all the DADA teachers. Year 5 and Year 7 weren’t his fault though. But couldn’t he see that Gilderoy was a fraud? He saw past Riddle easily and Lockhart’s just full of himself.
@@not-so-happypappypatton But the thing is, NO ONE really applied for the job, most think the spot was cursed (which it is)

QueenOfObscurePairings I agree
How can you say that!!!!
Tell me one thing what profit he would gain by using Harry
What he did was for the welfare of whole wizarding world
Dumbledore loved harrry so much
(And sorry for my english)
Varda Kazmi yes yes definitely a good point but... Dumbledore always knew in the end Harry had to die for the welfare of the wizarding world/ Voldemort to die. The one turning point where he had hope for Harry was where Voldemort came back to life and used Harry’s blood to resurrect himself, so the love protection lived in Voldemort. (this is just a theory that I think is a good one) don’t attack me
@@jas5117 by the way I love your account name😂
I feel like hagrid is more of an uncle figure or a older brother figure to Harry then a father figure, he was always looking out for him but never super invested and always lived his own life but serious did everything for Harry and truly loved Harry like a dad but with hagrid it was a bit more chill

But was Sirius’ love for Harry or for James? He didn’t know Harry. Hagrid loved Harry for Harry and always tried his best to care for him and put his needs first. That sounds more fatherly to me 🤷🏻♀️
But Hagrid started caring for Harry because he liked his parents too
@@hermione3639 hmmm you can say the same thing about Ron, that thought sitting with Harry Potter on the train is cool and he kind of liked him for that, but Hagrid and Ron both liked Harry for who he is and were ever there for him at the end, after they knew him and loved him as a friend. With all of my love to Sirius (and that's a lot), he always saw Harry as "the second James".

e m So? Hagrid still viewed Harry as an individual instead of an extension of James. Our family members care for us because we’re born to our parents too. So I’m missing your point here.,

You do realize voldermort was conceived under a LOVE POTION AND HE CAN’T FELL LOVE AT ALL!
@@Marcedonia not love
Voldemort used bellatrix and never valued her as "love".
That really clears things up I didn’t think of it in the light before. Thank you for redeeming Dumbledore in my eyes

The whole Rita Skeeter thing
Regulus Black’s story.
It broke my heart
Harmione had way more chemistry than Romione
In the films, I shipped Luna and Harry more than Harry and Ginny
Neville should’ve killed Bella
Cursed child is just.. no
Philosophers stone just isn’t it
Draco had a choice. I’m sorry, it’s just that Sirius’ family were all Slytherin and supported Voldemort so why should Draco be excused?
Gary Oldman looked fricking incredible for his age. I lowkey have a crush on Sirius black and I’m a 13 year old girl
Nymphadora is so underrated
Wolfstar was real no one can tell me otherwise
Harry is kinda scary
Voldy is a nose-less, bald, pathetic villain
Ravenclaw and hufflepuff are overlooked so much
Lavender Brown and Cho Chang get way too much hate. They were young girls who were genuinely in love
Michael Gambon was awful
Harry and Ginny’s kids have horrendous names
Percy should’ve died
Harmione’s hugs were way more passionate than Harry and ginnys kisses
KREACHER!
Eliza S absolutely! I mean, I’m a huge Harmione shipper so I loved the dance but they really could’ve told kreacher’s story

I think it was more about being in denial then not believing him. They didn't want to hear the truth so they didn't bother to find it out.
that would've gone badly for harry. many of them thought he was lying, but there were just as many that thought he was psychotic. rita skeeter published an article suggesting that the curse that failed to kill him may have caused some prolonged brain damage. so if they used occlumency or truth potion, fudge would think this would just be memories of some psychotic episode and mental delusion, so he would've had harry committed. he was looking for any opportunity to expel harry (Umbridge made that attempt with the dementors) so he would've jumped at any opportunity to twist things and have harry declared legally insane and locked up

I think Hagrid was more like the cool (but cute!!!) uncle.😂
I was thinking that instead of a 12 hour Harry Potter movie with every detail from the books, why not just make a Harry Potter episode series WITH EVERY DETAIL FROM THE BOOKS???? WOULDN THAT BE SO COOL!
Dumbledore did not care about Harry, only his ability to take out Lord Voldemort. He emotionally manipulated him since the beginning of the books.

My unpopular opinion I´v never cared about Ginny Weasley. For a long time I wished that Harry would have ended up with Luna since I found her more interesting than Ginny but I also ship Harry and Luna as friends.
I like Ginny in the books, but she's just boring in the movies. And either way, it made almost no sense to pair her with Harry.

Oh hey! I'm the Hermione cosplayer! (:
Really?
@@jemima8118 Yep!!!
You did such a good job!!! 🌻
@@okeannos5449 Thank you!
@@kariellex Wait are you that person on Reddit?
Hagrid brought harry to his uncles
Introduced him to what he was
Took him away when needed
Was their protecting him in DHP1 linking to taking him away when it was time
And literally saw him grow up ( with Ron and Hermione ) all through the years and stood by him.
I'd say he had a big part to play.
Every time you skip a post i have to go back and pause to read it😂
OMG! You could totally pull off Ginny if you cosplayed her.I say go for it!
I have also just realised if you put a wig on you could so be Luna too.
saying "Malfoy voice" three times fast, might be harder then saying "toy boat" three times fast. Yes, would love to see you do some cosplay.
THIS
WHO ELSE LOVES CHERRY
BTW I'm a UA-camr too!
Who doesn't??
I so wasn't going to follow you but you genuinely made me laugh with this video. I'll be honest, I really wanted to be a Gryffindor but then I did the pottermore quiz and was sorted into Hufflepuff. I was gutted then read many of the qualities and traits of the house and I thought, you know what. I am totally a Hufflepuff... Haven't looked back once. I try and get my hands on as much Hufflepuff merch as I can!
2:25 Miranda sings who?
I was watching Tessa Netting one day and came along to you and have been watching you ever since. Love your channel ❤️
I think snape's death was actually the most devastating🤷🏻♀️
beth upton that’s.....interesting 😂
Same!!
He's my favourite character, i hoped for a redemption arc for him, and after i figured out harry could use the mirror shard to see he's okay, i litteraly cried for an hour (after i read the book)
his death was the most interesting
Always wanted to say: in fifth book Dobby came to the requirement room and warned Harry that Umbrige is coming... why Dobby did not appparate with students to help them to escape? It could save everyone’s life and Dumbledore would not leave Hogwarts.
Also, I don’t see how Sirius had father role... I felt that Sirius treated Harry as equal and Harry was trusting him more than friend but less than father because he was not afraid asking him questions. Lupin was more uncle and Hagrid was friend. I feel Author and Molly had more parenting figure in relationship to Harry.
Yeeessss I need to see a cosplay by you!! I really want to get into Harry Potter cosplay!
Harry wasn't able to use liquid luck 'cause in the book it says you can only do that once or twice in a lifetime and he already took it in Harry Potter 6
Uhhh fancy T-Shirt♥️
the saddest death for me is Freds. i am a twin and i cannot imagine
how life would be without her so i feel bad for George
Yea then hedwig then Dobby I used to like Bellatrix until she killed Dobby I know that is pretty random when I started talking about bellatrix
But I have no twin
Dubledore one did represent the character of Dumbledore portrayed in the books better than two. But one wouldn't have done such a good job in the later films but he was a great fit for the first two
Hey, in Harry's defense about the candy thing, the Trolley Witch can probably just restock it with magic.
The time turner should have really been used to go back to Slughorn and Tom Riddle's conversation about horcruxes.... IMO
The time turned couldn’t go back in time more then a couple hours😉
This might be an unpopular opinion but:
I think that had Draco not been born into the Malloy family, then he and Harry would’ve been literally best friends. HOWEVER, I do not ship Drarry, but if anyone wants to try and change my mind go ahead
I definitely agree with the cedric one. It was so sad.
Deaths that hit me hardest (spoiler alert):
1. Sirius Black
2. Fred Weasley
3. Remus Lupin
4. Dobby
5. Cedric Diggory
6. Hedwig
7. Nymphadora Tonks
8. Album Dumbledore
9. Severus Snape
10. Regulus Black
11. Pandora Lovegood
12. The Longbottom parents
13. Lavender Brown
