What's the point of getting a flagship if you're going to disable 120Hz, high resolution and hinder multitasking by killing apps running in background? Smartphones are too advanced nowadays and a new phone can easily give good battery backup for 2-3 years. Just use your device whole heartedly if you're spending your hard earned money.

same, and it already has pretty good battery life
Doesn't the smart rapid charge detect when we need to charge faster automatically so it tops up the juice faster in some scenarios and just the basic speed normally such as night time?
a few tweaks i made is:
1. set the refresh rate at 90hz for the apps (that way i can still enjoy higher refresh rate)
2. charge between 15-95. there's no hard and fast rule of 20-80. it's just used to make you understand better
3. battery saver on at 30%
4. auto optimize on for all the apps
5. close the apps manually in the bg that you're not gonna use for the rest of the day (eg: shopping apps, music apps etc.)
6. set the brightness around 40%, most of the times it's more than enough because the screens in OP 12 series is really good
even if you don't follow all these it's fine ;) since you bought an expensive phone, enjoy your lovely features. cheers!

That's common and normal. Even in iphones the battery health normally goes down by 1% every 2 or 3 months. If your battery health goes to around 80% in a year, that shows abnormal battery usage/damage
@Techibee - Am using OP12 with 14.0.0.610(EX01). I don't see the Display setting option like you see on your device at @2:26 seconds. When I select Pro Mode or any mode it doesn't give me options of Brilliance or Cinematic like in your video. Any idea why these are missing in my phone?
Those modes are under "Pro modes"

@@purnenduachary - Hi, as mentioned above, it doesn't matter which mode I select (Natural/Pro/Vivid) it simply won't list out those options for selecting "Brilliant" or "Cinematic". The colors look extremely washed out even after selecting Vivid.

@@purnenduachary - If you're able to see these options on your OP12, can you please let me know which Launcher your phone is running on? Like System or OnePlus launcher. You can check this from Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps.
I have OP7 Pro and changed battery two year ago. These days i need to charge my phone twice a day. Screen on time is only 3 Hours. Seems really bad.
I used oneplus 3t for 2 years and 7t for 4 years and still have. I never cared for fast charging used charge 0 to 100 and my battery lasted more than 3 years. I am sure now the tech would have been much better.

Sacrificing actually useful features like Smart rapid charging or High refresh rate for battery health which will any how degrade overtime is not worth :( instead replace the battery after 2 years for 1800 to 2000 rupees.

Which option is better Smart charging or the 80% battery charging cap setting??
Bro i don't think it's an effective option to stop charging at 80 because after that our Sot will be significantly reduced to 3 or 4 hr if we didn't allow percentage to come under 20% i personally prefer smart charging to be a better choice and charge battery up to 90 and drain it up to 15, but I am not sure if this is the right way either

I don't have the option to limit 80% charge. Only have smart charging option which doesn't limit the charging to 80. Chinese version, updated to the latest build.

is anyone facing low sound on earphones in OnePlus 12R after 14.0.0.701(EX01) update? note: I usually use it at 50% volume, previously it sounded loud enough for me at 50%. The so called app specific volume seems to be causing the issue i guess. Please anyone confirm
Yes its a genuine issue around, OP might fix it in coming updates
So basically bottom speaker and top speaker audio DB doesn't match thats what i have observed, hence the low sound

It's actually useless, my 8T was a bit choppy while the ram expansion was on. I turned off that feature and the phone is working super smooth.

It's normal me having same phone ,even iPhone also gone 99 after 3 months ,it's very normal ,for battery long life Plug ur charge before reaches 20% ,and don't do overcharge over 80-90 % everytime
I keep my auto brightness on. It doesnt use much battery imo. But i'm using a samsung.

In my experience, my OP12 uses more power if it uses Wifi. For my device the Mobile data gives better power utilisation. Let me know if this works for you
You can directly say buy a Nokia 3310 instead, meaningless to switch off all the premium features just for the sake of negligible battery backup.

I used to love oxygen os... now it has no identity. Hardware is great but notification shade is iOS rip off, software is Color OS rip off. ZERO oneplus identity which made it famous. I absolutely love one ui because they built themselves unlike oneplus who stole everything from oppo and apple. Cannot wait to see oneplus shut down.PATHETIC.
Using 'standard' under refresh rate for it to be 60 hz is one of the most stupidest decision in any smartphone which is offering 120 hz.
