I became a addict at 16 years old. It lasted for 9 years. Four overdoses with four major car wrecks and being addicted to prescription pain pills and heroine was the most God awful time in my life. The things I went through as a addict and the abuse I endured made me use much more. I ended up in a rehab program for 9 months. As soon as I got home I relapsed two days later. I ended up relapsing four diff times before I finally got it right. If it wasn't for my family I wouldn't of made it this far. I fight it everyday not only for them but for myself and this song gives me so much hope. To any addict out there going through this my heart goes out to you!!! You can do it!!! You never know how strong you are until you can finally say you did it. Addicts are far from weak. We are actually some of the strongest people I know!! I couldn't tell you how many times I wanted to die but I kept telling myself just one more day. One more day......and I made it.

I've struggled with major depression since my early twenties. Truly, there have been times I've tried to end the despire by downing every prescription medication I had all at once. But, Jesus was always there to save me. Once, I thought I had made it to death but, I woke up in a hospital in intensive care a few days later, I guess, still alive. Certainly, Jesus was there for me again. Now, I've decided to live, even through the struggles of trying to hold it together during times of feeling overwhelmed and in despair, I will fight for life. My first step of recovery was learning to love me just as I am and never allow anyone to make me hate myself for feeling I'm not good enough or for being my nerdy self. Now, I love being me inspite of depression. "JESUS IS MY STRENGTH, WHOM SHALL I FEAR?" I NO LONGER FEAR HAVING DEPRESSION; I JUST FIGHT AGAINST IT HARDER THAN I DID BEFORE. BESIDES, I HAVE TO BE AWESOME JUST BECAUSE I CAN. "Reba knows how to speak from our hearts when we are too broken to speak at all." 💔

I’m seriously crying my eyes out. I’ve been struggling with pretty severe depression for the last year and a half since my dad passed away and this song gave me so much comfort and hope. It feels like she’s singing to me and having Reba tell me I’m going to be ok is the best thing I’ve heard in a long time.
It's been four years May 1st that I lost my Dad. He was my best friend and my rock. What keeps me going is that I know my Dad wanted me to be successful and to thrive. But, June 20th, I lost my sweet, loving brother. He took his own life. And I am not coping well with his loss. He was my best friend. He and I could talk to each other about anything. We shared so many of our demons and fears. He knew me. He could read my heart unlike anyone else. And now, here I am left without him. Idk how to move on from this. I'm just lost and broken.
I bet you're brother would want you to find a way forward. That would make him so much more proud of you of that's even possible. It won't be easy but you got this. My big sister has cold and is declining and I have to be strong for her and her son. You're not alone. You did respond when you could so we're good. B Humphries, how YOU doing? Working on your stuff I hope, I work on mine regularly, listen to music, if I compare my life now to let's say a few years ago. I see progress but it took me many years to get here with my baggage so it'll take some time to go through the baggage to at first make it lighter, then empty it completely. The journey is difficult, trying and sometimes seemingly impossible. IF I stop I'll never get better. There's a song that talks about if you're going thru hell don't stop! Because if we do, it's soooo much harder to get going again. Lectures over, may you go on to inspire thousands and thousands of people because you choose to rise up, inspite of it all and live happily ever after! 😊

As someone who grew up in a household surrounded by darkness, this song really hits deep. Addicts certainly have their struggles, but children of addicts are the ones that really suffer. You never really feel like you'll be free from it, and then the day comes that you can finally escape. That's what this song means to me.
The day I realized that I was FINALLY free from my addiction - was one night after my favorite 12 step meeting, while getting ready to go to bed, I realized that I had not thought even once about anything to do with any of the chemicals that I had been so obsessed with for so very long! ONE ENTIRE DAY! Doesn't seem like much to most "normies"... , but we know deep down inside - how long one full day can be.
The addiction in America is the growing need for power and control. The substance American's are addicted to. The way the people go about their lives trying to have power and control over just about anything is becoming a growing concern ... increasingly so. I am not sure we can escape this time. I do not think this time escape from power and control is possible because it is in the hands of individuals. I hope to be proven wrong. I really do. But I do not think I am wrong on this one. I was an iv heroine addict for 7 years when I finally decided I wanted out I tried and tried on my own I could only make it 30 days so one day I posted on face book I had my gun and was driving down the coast of Florida to kill myself because I could not bare to live as a heroine addict anymore. Someone contact my sister 800 miles away and she said start driving north and get as far as you can, they set up people in different cities for me to stop and rest over night took me three days to get here. I went into a sober living dual diagnosis center and I now have 45 days clean. I know that might not seem like a lot but it is so huge for me. Thank you for this song Reba

I was born with handicapped body and went to regular schools.... Didn't have medical and started with physical therapies at age sixteen when I got into the stock market and the tech stocks dropped into the market. My grammies loved me and for me to be happy and healthy but didn't have money. My well-being continues to improve and my spinal progressions continue. And it's been a long journey and I have often stopped hopeless. My health is at the will of my healthcare. Thankful for my geniuses I do have and for my genius sweet little puppy.

What really sucks is many people just get lumped into being labeled due to their medical conditions, it's so sad when it affects those who Are NOT addicts , they are fighting for thier. Lives due to medical issues and being a victim of a viscous violent attack that leaves you in real bad conditions since they did NOT FIX it right ... I have been a loyal fan of Reba through most of my life, following her through cities and tours across America. I was there during the cassettes era with fan mail postmarked before the internet. I remember the first website and the 800 numbers while listening to new CD releases every year. Now we are blessed with her vocals through the digital age and as her popularity pivots to international attention, I have never once thought I didn't feel close to Reba. She brings light to my life and happiness to my soul with her voice. God truly speaks through her to all the millions of lives she has touched. I am a recovering alcoholic. I am a gay man who survived a mormon childhood. I am nearly two years sober this go around and every starting over gets harder than the first. My life took a leap into a direction I could not have anticipated during the pandemic. I decided to surrender and give up my career as a sommelier. I was only my first year into my new job and I heard the first couple of lines from the song as a teaser from Reba social media. Time literally stood still as I listened. Not much can grab my attention but Reba will every time. The customer I was helping leaned in and touched my shoulder. Then I heard "are you ok?" Shaken back to reality, I wiped the streaming tears from my cheeks and nodded. I wasn't sad. I just was told once more through Reba's voice and the lyrics that Diane Warren touched my heart with that I was going to be ok. I hadn't realized what strides I had taken and I hadn't been alert enough to notice the sun after my darkest hours. Congratulations on the nomination! This time around (13) has all the fortune and resilience that should garner the prize. I know the real success is when you hear these stories of how words, vocals and music changes lives. It certainly did mine.

Reba honestly has amazing vocal ability. She doesn't have to over sing, she uses her voice to best convey the song and she gets the best out of a song. No one else can do this as well as Reba does in my opinion. That's why she's a legend and it's why she's been around for so many decades.

Im 20 years old and have been struggling with opioid addiction for years now. The movie itself is fantastic and brings to light the immense struggle and hardships between family and loved ones just how much addiction causes suffering not only to the addict but to those whom love them as-well, great movie, and such a motivational beautiful song that every time I listen it brings me to tears. Somehow you always do.
I don’t know how I never heard this song until now, but it definitely hits home on many levels. My depression has become increasingly overwhelming around the holidays over the past 21 years. My mother passed in June 2002. My dad passed in August 2012. And my brother just passed Sept 2023. I’m the only surviving member of my immediate family. Add on top of that, my husband, daughter, and I have had a lot of years of struggling. We’d been waiting 4 years for an appeal date for my husband’s 100% disability case. I got put out of work and trying to get disability. It seemed as though things were never going to get better. Then just last month, we found out we finally got qualified for a VA home loan! Then just around Thanksgiving, we also got a date set for my hubby’s VA appeal! People always ask me how I’ve survived. My answer: You just do.

Even at our age we still go by little and Big! When our mom died at the age of 54... I was strong thru her illness for everyone, and the funeral, tbh my whole life.... I then hid my depression really well! I'm much better but still have bad days. I just try and remember my hubby, kids and my little sis(& my neice and nephew) all need me! I've been through a lot the pass two years. But this year i thought was going to be better. I have bill collectors coming to me wanting money and i just don't have it. My unemployment insurance paid after 9 months but that was gone in a flash. The stimulus came and it gone too. Try to get bill's back in good standards. But still can't reach everyone. So now I'm wait on the peuc from unemployment. And again waiting for a answer of yes or no. Then i get told i might want send in a request of appeal just in case they say no. After this time i could had already had it in. But out the blue i get a message from a very compassionate person. Just wanting to be friend's at first. But i told her i don't have friend's i have family and if she cared if i call her sister. She sure. And we are family now. She might be blood but i truly love her. She trys to take care of me even tho we are far apart. She's so talented and smart. And has a beautiful voice. She my redhead big sis.

This song just brings tears to my eyes. From someone who suffered from depression, this song hits home. I thought about suicide and my family pulled me through it, but to hear this, somehow you do, makes me so glad I didn't go through with it. It was a long time ago, but I still remember every detail of it. The song gets me because it makes me think about the people who feel they have no hope left, but as Reba says, 'you'll get through this.' Hang in there. You CAN get through this.

I've struggled with major depression since my early twenties. Truly, there have been times I've tried to end the despire by downing every prescription medication I had all at once. But, Jesus was always there to save me. Once, I thought I had made it to death but, I woke up in a hospital in intensive care a few days later, I guess, still alive. Certainly, Jesus was there for me again. Now, I've decided to live, even through the struggles of trying to hold it together during times of feeling overwhelmed and in despair, I will fight for life. My first step of recovery was learning to love me just as I am and never allow anyone to make me hate myself for feeling I'm not good enough or for being my nerdy self. Now, I love being me inspite of depression. "JESUS IS MY STRENGTH, WHOM SHALL I FEAR?" I NO LONGER FEAR HAVING DEPRESSION; I JUST FIGHT AGAINST IT HARDER THAN I DID BEFORE. BESIDES, I HAVE TO BE AWESOME JUST BECAUSE I CAN. "Reba knows how to speak from our hearts when we are too broken to speak at all." 💔

I’m seriously crying my eyes out. I’ve been struggling with pretty severe depression for the last year and a half since my dad passed away and this song gave me so much comfort and hope. It feels like she’s singing to me and having Reba tell me I’m going to be ok is the best thing I’ve heard in a long time.
It's been four years May 1st that I lost my Dad. He was my best friend and my rock. What keeps me going is that I know my Dad wanted me to be successful and to thrive. He didn't want sadness for me, ever. That is what keeps me going...remembering what my Dad wanted for me. And I live for him and carry on his legacy.

But, June 20th, I lost my sweet, loving brother. He took his own life. And I am not coping well with his loss. He was my best friend. He and I could talk to each other about anything. We shared so many of our demons and fears. He knew me. He could read my heart unlike anyone else. And now, here I am left without him. Idk how to move on from this. I'm just lost and broken.
I bet you're brother would want you to find a way forward. That would make him so much more proud of you of that's even possible. It won't be easy but you got this. My big sister has cold and is declining and I have to be strong for her and her son. You're not alone. You did respond when you could so we're good. All this will pass, one day at a time... keep reaching out because there's isolation probably won't help but make things worse. Smile people care about ya.
B Humphries, how YOU doing? Working on your stuff I hope, I work on mine regularly, listen to music, if I compare my life now to let's say a few years ago. I see progress but it took me many years to get here with my baggage so it'll take some time to go through the baggage to at first make it lighter, then empty it completely. The journey is difficult, trying and sometimes seemingly impossible. IF I stop I'll never get better. There's a song that talks about if you're going thru hell don't stop! Because if we do, it's soooo much harder to get going again. As someone who grew up in a household surrounded by darkness, this song really hits deep. Addicts certainly have their struggles, but children of addicts are the ones that really suffer. You never really feel like you'll be free from it, and then the day comes that you can finally escape. That's what this song means to me.

I'm a grown man with tears rolling down my face. Such an incredibly powerful song, that so many can truly relate to. Reba is truly a masterclass.
I was an iv heroine addict for 7 years when I finally decided I wanted out I tried and tried on my own I could only make it 30 days so one day I posted on face book I had my gun and was driving down the coast of Florida to kill myself because I could not bare to live as a heroine addict anymore. Someone contact my sister 800 miles away and she said start driving north and get as far as you can, they set up people in different cities for me to stop and rest over night took me three days to get here. I went into a sober living dual diagnosis center and I now have 45 days clean. I know that might not seem like a lot but it is so huge for me. Thank you for this song Reba

I was born with handicapped body and went to regular schools.... Didn't have medical and started with physical therapies at age sixteen when I got into the stock market and the tech stocks dropped into the market. My grammies loved me and for me to be happy and healthy but didn't have money. My well-being continues to improve and my spinal progressions continue. And it's been a long journey and I have often stopped hopeless. My health is at the will of my healthcare. Thankful for my geniuses I do have and for my genius sweet little puppy.
Addiction is a beast so is chronic Illness , so is pain... What really sucks is many people just get lumped into being labeled due to their medical conditions, it's so sad when it affects those who Are NOT addicts , they are fighting for thier. Lives due to medical issues and being a victim of a viscous violent attack that leaves you in real bad conditions since they did NOT FIX it right ... Then your left to fight the good fight and ALL YOUR PLANS change ... Your dreams go out the window in a blink of an eye .. It hurts , so bad !!!! I have been a loyal fan of Reba through most of my life, following her through cities and tours across America. I was there during the cassettes era with fan mail postmarked before the internet. I remember the first website and the 800 numbers while listening to new CD releases every year. Now we are blessed with her vocals through the digital age and as her popularity pivots to international attention, I have never once thought I didn't feel close to Reba. She brings light to my life and happiness to my soul with her voice. God truly speaks through her to all the millions of lives she has touched. I am a recovering alcoholic. I am a gay man who survived a mormon childhood. I am nearly two years sober this go around and every starting over gets harder than the first. My life took a leap into a direction I could not have anticipated during the pandemic. I decided to surrender and give up my career as a sommelier. I was only my first year into my new job and I heard the first couple of lines from the song as a teaser from Reba social media. Time literally stood still as I listened. Not much can grab my attention but Reba will every time. The customer I was helping leaned in and touched my shoulder. Then I heard "are you ok?" Shaken back to reality, I wiped the streaming tears from my cheeks and nodded. I wasn't sad. I just was told once more through Reba's voice and the lyrics that Diane Warren touched my heart with that I was going to be ok. I hadn't realized what strides I had taken and I hadn't been alert enough to notice the sun after my darkest hours. Congratulations on the nomination! This time around (13) has all the fortune and resilience that should garner the prize. I know the real success is when you hear these stories of how words, vocals and music changes lives. It certainly did mine.

Im 20 years old and have been struggling with opioid addiction for years now. The movie itself is fantastic and brings to light the immense struggle and hardships between family and loved ones just how much addiction causes suffering not only to the addict but to those whom love them as-well, great movie, and such a motivational beautiful song that every time I listen it brings me to tears. Somehow you always do.
I don’t know how I never heard this song until now, but it definitely hits home on many levels. My depression has become increasingly overwhelming around the holidays over the past 21 years. My mother passed in June 2002. My dad passed in August 2012. And my brother just passed Sept 2023. I’m the only surviving member of my immediate family. Add on top of that, my husband, daughter, and I have had a lot of years of struggling. We’d been waiting 4 years for an appeal date for my husband’s 100% disability case. I got put out of work and trying to get disability. It seemed as though things were never going to get better. Then just last month, we found out we finally got qualified for a VA home loan! Then just around Thanksgiving, we also got a date set for my hubby’s VA appeal! People always ask me how I’ve survived. My answer: You just do.

I've been through a lot the pass two years. But this year i thought was going to be better. I have bill collectors coming to me wanting money and i just don't have it. My unemployment insurance paid after 9 months but that was gone in a flash. The stimulus came and it gone too. Try to get bill's back in good standards. But still can't reach everyone. So now I'm wait on the peuc from unemployment. And again waiting for a answer of yes or no. Then i get told i might want send in a request of appeal just in case they say no. After this time i could had already had it in. But out the blue i get a message from a very compassionate person. Just wanting to be friend's at first. But i told her i don't have friend's i have family and if she cared if i call her sister. She sure. And we are family now. She might be blood but i truly love her. She trys to take care of me even tho we are far apart. She's so talented and smart. And has a beautiful voice. She my redhead big sis.

This song just brings tears to my eyes. From someone who suffered from depression, this song hits home. I thought about suicide and my family pulled me through it, but to hear this, somehow you do, makes me so glad I didn't go through with it. It was a long time ago, but I still remember every detail of it. The song gets me because it makes me think about the people who feel they have no hope left, but as Reba says, 'you'll get through this.' Hang in there. You CAN get through this.
