I hope you are aware of the splendid alternate trail towards EBC from Namche? The Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche High Scenic Trail offers vastly better views than the low Tengboche route uninformed trekkers and lazy guides just hike twice up and down. Going via Phortse on the way up does not add any days to the itinerary either, just sleep in Phortse instead of Tengboche. Lots of wildlife, practically no trekkers either.

If it's dangerous, then why do thousands of trekkers and adventurers fly every season of the year? It's not dangerous, but unique airstrips should be mentioned. Over the last three decades, I have flown hundreds of times during my trekking career.
