The Logitech Combo Touch Trackpad is MASSIVE

The detachable keyboard and lower price tag pretty much seals the deal when compared to the Magic Keyboard.
It sure has its benefits, drawbacks for me are the Logitech logo on the back and full sides protection.
@@ThomasBeukers the protective sides are a benefit. I don’t like the Magic Keyboard because one drop and your 1000 dollar iPad is donezi
My only caveat is that the typing experience in the Apple stand is so much better.
I used combo touch on my 2018 11” iPad Pro. I liked it quite a bit but found that the material around the speaker/vent ports would deform. I warranty replaced it once, but definitely saw the same problem on the replacement after about 6-8 months of use. I bought the latest combo touch for my M4 and was happy to see that the material and design changed a bit. Hoping this one doesn’t have the same issue.
you can't use it on your lap comfortably which is honestly why I never use mine (i can use my laptop instead and battery life on my iPad is pretty bad for laptop type use). I use an iPad pro 10.5 which didn't get a magic keyboard and I got the combo touch a few months after it released for £90 compared to the £299 that the magic keyboard costs.
Keyboard Pricing (Updated on 5/15/2024)
• Logitech Combo Touch 13" can be purchased through Logitech for $259 or through my affiliate link: geni.us/HyIWY (in-stock)
• Logitech Combo Touch 11" is only available through Logitech for $229 (currently out of stock)

Finally someone who does unboxing and review of this product, I was waiting a lot to see if I should buy it or not, thank you very much
Great review. Thanks 😊
The video I was looking for. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
I've been looking for a review like this, and I found it! thanks!!
Glad I could help!
One interesting thing of note is that the combo touch doesn’t have an escape key (instead there’s a home key), this means they probably didn’t know Apple was going to add an escape key to their Magic Keyboard. I wonder if Logitech can release an update that allows the user to make it an escape key.
I agree with this. It was quite confusing. Or, they knew that. But they decided to keep it until major iPad apps start officially supporting the ESC function in their app. If that happens, no ESC key is going to deal breaker anyway. They might release another keyboard case at that point? After upcoming WWDC?
@@user-dd6qg1lb4rwhat’s the difference between escape key and home key?
gotta say i'm a little bummed that it's no longer fabric on the outside... i absolutely loved my previous ipad air one for that reason
I was nice but I kinda picks up stains and scuffs on the corners which can be irritating when holding it
Great video, amazing comparisons. Thanks you.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! One correction, there is an iPad case that holds the Apple Pencil it’s the otterbox case for m4 iPads. Has a little mechanism you lift that can hold the Apple Pencil in place.
I have a combo touch with my M1 iPad Pro 12.9 and the big problem is the weight. Turns a sleek tablet into an absolute paving slab. Seriously considering an M4 13 inch where form factor is even more of a thing given how thin and light it is. Magic Keyboard might win this time
I've no plans on updating from my current M1 iPad Air 5, but as I'm allready using it's version of the Logitech Combo Touch keyboard and case, I can wholly recommend it over the Apple-branded keyboards.
Thx for the review. Been thinking of buying the logitech keyborad for the new iPad Pro. I prefer this than the magic keyboard. It has a case to protect the ipad and you can detached the keyboard and use the kickstand . Really like the new design, metals and black colour. Just fingerprint magnet though. Sad wont be able to purchase it here in australia until june
I congratulate you, your report is extremely professional. Better than all the ones I have seen to date, I ask you, could you tell me the weight of the case and the keyboard separately? If possible, the Logitech 11 pro and 13 pro, so I decide which of the 2 to buy, I travel a lot and mobility is important to me. Thank you in advance and Greetings from Argentina
The same case can be used for both iPad Pro 11 M4 and iPad Air 11 M2?
Heya, just a heads-up your links aren't working. The Amazon link on the 13" ipad pro combo touch leads to results for the older versions
Great review! I’m curious, does the Logitech support all the same gestures highlighted for the Magic Keyboard?
I want to know this too
Is this compatible with the previous gen iPads?
Do you know if the iPad Air m1 combo touch will work and fit the iPad Air m2?
I just got the older version from Amazon for a bargain for my new iPad Air 6 should I return this and get the new one 😭
Great video ! Logitech makes better case then apple!
Does the previous version work with the m4 iPad Pro ?
Any thoughts on the heat conductivity/dissipation of the new M4 iPad Pro Logitech Combo Cases? With the new materials of the iPad Pro M4 Combo cases, which seem to have decreased the weight compared to prior Combo Touch cases, I was also hoping that Logitech made improvements to the thermal performance for the new M4 iPad Pros.
can you do a a review with the iPads in the case?. And also this thing is a fail because it does not protect the pencil.
Great video!thx for it. I was wondering: does the previous Logitech keyboard fit the m4 iPad pro 11 ?
It should not since the new iPad Pro 11 is thinner, but I will confirm later this evening and reply here.
@@ItsCaputo and?
note that the combo touch has a problem with double click for right click, it sometimes work.
I picked up one for my 13” M4 as I had the updated previous version for my M1 and really liked it a lot. I have to say, I’m not totally sold on the new design. The whole package has quite a bit more flex than the previous version. If you’re lowering the keyboard from one side instead of the middle, the base is flimsy enough until its flat that you can see the trackpad flexing away from the housing. The kickstand on the rear of the case also has a lot more flex than the cloth version did. I don’t know yet if that will affect my use case but it is possible. Just sitting here and typing this on it is all I need to know about how often it’s going to need cleaned. It’s going to be often. It’s and absolute fingerprint magnet and I think that’s a serious downgrade. My year old cloth one still looks brand new and rarely needs wiped on any side. I originally had the first gen version of the Magic Keyboard and though this has better seams, the material is very much like it. It’s going to almost certainly get scratched and my guess is it wont age long either. At this time the Control App from Logitech does not recognize the keyboard so no firmware updates are going to be forthcoming. A pop up came up the first time I connected the keyboard that actually went searching for and app called Combo Touch in the App Store but the store said not available in our region. I’m in the USA. Having said that, the keyboard works fine including the different touchpad gestures and the ability to override Apples choice for backlighting using the function keys. For my use case, this form factor is just the best for where I’m usually using the keyboard. There are other keyboard cases with similar if not identical form factors but only this and the Apple Keyboard use the dock connector so I’m really hoping it ends up being more durable than I fear it is. Functionally it’s a great keyboard but I’m thinking Logitech kinda forgot the kind of abuse these things take when redesigning it.
Unfortunately my combo touch just suddenly stopped working without any solution even from Logitech. But maybe it is just mine that had a problem. Otherwise I love the case but not sure if I will ever buy one.
HI I love the video a lot. Im also curious about the exact weight of each part of the Keyboard, which means the sheld it-self and the keyboard its own. Much thanks!
11 inch size combo touch.

I had the combo touch version for the M1 Pro 11 inch and it started to warp at points after a year of use, really don’t think it’s good long term; hoping the new one holds out better. I ended up getting an apple keyboard folio.
Yep, having the same issue with the combo touch for iPad Air. I really like the experience but it’s slowly falling apart even tho I take good care or it. I can’t in good faith recommend a combo touch even though they’re great, they don’t last.
I'm so confused. So this was released for the M4 13 inch, but not the 11 inch? The website says the newest iPad combo touch cases are only on preorder at the moment.
He called the 13 a 12.9 at one stage…
I have a iPad Pro 4th generation M2 and I would like to get a combo touch. however, I love the new combo touch design. Do you know if I can use the new one on the old iPad Pro (in my case, M2 2022)? Thank you.
I wonder the same question for my m1 iPad bc my previous combo touch begin to break. This is normal i have used it everyday for everything during 2y
Do you know if the iPad Air version comes with the metallic version as the iPad Pro or the same fabric material as in the past?
The Combo Touch for the M2 iPad is made from hard plastic. Here's my review of the 13" ua-cam.com/video/JGptrcd-b6s/v-deo.html
What about for the iPad Air m2? Is there an option available for that model?
Yes, uploading video shortly
Do you know why this only works with the new iPad line? i do have an old 11 inch M1 iPad Pro.
Total BS that they left M1 and M2 out of the dust by not supporting it.
This is much better than MAgic keyboard , just because it’s much lighter, and you have a very good case included too.
Did anyone begin to notice resting your palms on the keyboard while using it on your lap causes it to slightly bend (bottom portion) impacting the track pad response? Need to basically avoid resting my palms when using on an uneven surface. Was this the case with the old version?
Yes, I noticed this today.
So... am I missing something? On the logitech site when I select Combo Touch for iPad Pro and I select graphite, it says pick a language. English says "Not available in this language", and the only option is US International. Are they just out of stock, or did they only make the "US International" version?
I just bought mine from Apple. Same price.
I see that for iPad air m2 it says 495gram and the 4-5th gen 570gram. I wonder if I can just order the older version for my iPad air m2?
im wondering the same thing!
Does the old version iPad Pro 12.9 fit into the new combo touch cus I like the new version larger trackpad very much
No, the 2022 iPad Pro does not fit in the case for the new 13" iPad Pro because the new iPad is thinner. Do you currently have a 12.9 iPad Pro?
@@ItsCaputo I got the m2 ver iPad Pro 12.9
ALMOST had the weight of the individual case cover (not keyboard) id be using that mostly, have been looking for that everywhere any idea how much that weighs on its own for new iPad?
I will weigh it when I get home and reply here.
@@ItsCaputo super appreciated, btw I’m referring to 13 inch version
@@ItsCaputo I'd be curious to know the weight of the 11" case cover
@@ItsCaputo thanks for the review! I'm also very interested in the weight of only the case cover of the 11in. I prefer it over the Magic Keyboard, especially for the extra protection without the keyboard. Also the trackpad of the 11 inch version looks to be way bigger than the Magic Keyboard one.
Were you able to find the weight of the case cover without the keyboard?
Your information and comments are very professional. You put them in English and subtitle them in Spanish, that is appreciated. As a suggestion, when you take the weight, indicate it in pounds. I suggest that you also put it in grams since the entire Latin community uses kilos or grams. Thank you in advance. I am looking for information on the combo touch for the new iPad Pro 11 and 13 M4. , but the pieces separately. So I see which of the 2 I decide on. greetings from Argentina
But is it harder to press at the top of the trackpad or is it uniform
I got a logitech combo touch for the new m4 13 inch ipad pro and after a day i think it is uniform
@@legenddude1820 nice
I had this for the 12.9 iPad and had issues with the speaker cutouts. The holes stretched out after a few months. I had it replaced under warranty and the new one did the same thing as well. I noticed that Logitech changed the design to be a series of speaker holes like the one you reviewed. I decided to purchase it again and after a few months, the case cracked at each of the speaker vents. Never again will I buy this low quality product.
old Logitech Combo Touch for the 11 inch M1 iPad Pro is compatible with new 11 inch ipad pro M4 ? or only the new one for the 11inch M4 iPad Pro is compatible with the 11inch inch M4 iPad Pro ? On the contrary the new Logitech Combo Touch 2024 is compatible with the old 11 inch IPad Pro M1??
Kind of disappointed Logitech went away from the fabric. I love my combo touch on my M1 IPad Pro
It seems they aimed to replicate the premium aesthetic of the iPad's materials.
Logitech making their accessories even more Mac like also
….hmmmm
BS that Logi did not make this new Combo touch for old models as well, I can't stand the fabric on the old models.... Still rocking my M2 11 inch Pro without keyboard.
shame these keyboards don't have an escape key like on the new Magic Keyboards.
I actually forgot about that difference. Thanks!
I whole heartedly recommend the new Apple iPad Magic keyboard over Logitech keyboard. Extra $100? Worth it.
For some, spending the extra $100 is a no-brainer. For casual users or people who are concerned about protection, the Combo Touch is an easy recommendation.
The Magic Keyboard is great, but I’ve always gone with the Logitech combo touches in the past because they protect against drops, and more importantly have the adjustable stands for artists.
Additionally, I can detach the iPad and attach the keyboard around if I wanted to use it in tablet mode with my pen, vs taking my ipad off the magic keyboard and using it without any protection
It’s not the money, the difference is no protection when removed
