@RachelHardy Well I have enjoyed the series so far. Adar and Sauron's feud. The creation of the rings and seeing Galadriel take her own, which I believe in the future reference to the movies since the series is before in events that this is how she acquires her water power. Also Celebrimbor creating the rings for Sauron either unwillingly or willingly seems very interesting to me. The stranger to me is the most intriguing character due to the powers he has and me trying to figure out if he is Gandalf or not. I think I enjoy s2 more then 1. What about you ? What do u think of Season 2 so far ?
Still haven't watched S1 yet - watched the first two episodes and didn't really feel it click with me 😂 I might have to give it another try just so Prime will stop giving me ads for it any time I'm watching something else...
Fun fact: the verses of this song come from three songs from book one of The Lord of the Rings: - Goldberry's greeting at the end of Chapter VI - The Old Forest - Frodo's song at the beginning of Chapter VII - In the House of Tom Bombadil - the only writing down part of Tom's first song in Chapter VII - In the House of Tom Bombadil This makes you singing this perfect.
I have read the book, after the episode when this plays. my girlfriend had nothing but a puzzled look as I had the widest grin on my face and near tears in eyes.
So cool that McCreary saw this. Well deserved, as soon as I heard it in the show I thought “Rachel’s gonna do this one and it’s gonna be incredible”. Imagine that. I was right.
Personally, I think this song is the absolutely peak of magic that the series has hit. If Tolkien heard this he'd probably drop his pipe, throw his hat on, and go for a walk to write a poem about light on dew that rest on lily petals. I could easily see you as Goldberry. I haven't listened to the Goldberry song as I'm waiting to watch it on the series, but man, this song just hits perfectly. Wish more film studios could actually understand how sacred a form of art film can become when it is interlaced with music and poetry.
This. Obviously the series is FULL of issues, but there are moments where they touch upon the magic. It makes me sad that they couldn't apply this quality to it all, but I try to stay focused on the pieces I love, rather than settling in the hate so many do.
@@user-jt1js5mr3f while I disagree for the most part about the series being FULL of issues (mostly because even Tolkien said his work was inadequate and he was undecided with a lot of things and the show runners are having to tell a particular storyline which is a mad undertaking so I have to give them credit) I love your comment and how you are expressing that you have issues with it but you are also understanding that it has moments of magic. Disagreements like this make the stars shine brighter yet ✨
@@oenchanteddoveart6294 I always try to find the good bits in something I don’t like, or is widely considered bad. To be clear, I don’t hate the show. I also defend the premise that ANYTHING written about the 2nd Age requires new content to be written because it’s just too thin. Even for the 1st Age, there’s just nothing narratively comparable to LotR or the Hobbit (with the exception of CoH or BaL, but even then), so I have more patience there than many seem to.
Yeah they cooked with this one. It's the only thing in ROP so far that has made me feel like I'm watching the LOTR trilogy again. In my opinion, Season 2 is much better than Season 1, but it could still use some work. Hopefully they keep this momentum.
@@Not_Ciel agreed on s2 being much improved, the deception of Celebrimbor has been excellent in my opinion. I do feel like most of the locations have felt like middle earth, and I love how much practicality is present

Don't ask me why, but there's something so magic in her beauty and her voice, that I believe not the fairest and wisest of elves dare to speak about this charm for the fear of not illustrating it with the right words in quenya, sindarin or any other known languages in middle earth. An amazing song indeed made by this amazing lady! ❤
Beautiful Rachel. You truly have the gift of singing. God bless your voice always as it brings light, joy, and warmth to a world who is increasingly getting colder.
The most challenging thing about Rachel, is to NOT fall in love with her. Her beauty, her sense of style, her voice, her personality, so much to love here. I dare anyone to watch a few of her videos and NOT fall in love with her. Such a rare and singular beauty, like finding a finely polished diamond in the rough. Thank you, Rachel. Watching your videos always brings me joy. I can't help but have a smile on my face after, the vision of your face and voice in my head to help carry me through another day.
This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. I’ve loved these books since I was a child, and this finally does Bombadil and Goldberry justice. I love the Rings of Power, though I’m on the fence about the Tom Bombadil episode- I’m not sure he really fits with the story- but I love your version of this song so much that I’m glad they decided to include him anyway!
Everything fits perfectly in this song, your voice, the instruments. I think it took me 10 seconds to love the song. So much talent in one person, how is it possible ?
Yesssss was hoping you were going to cover this one. Absolutely perfect. (Also, my daughter was watching this with me and had this face the whole time 😮)
I love your cover! It's like hearing Goldberry singing. The music in The Rings of Power is wonderful, Bear McCreary is a great composer and this is among his best works. Thank you and I hope even more people will watch the series after hearing your beautiful voice.
I liked this on Rings of Power. I've never been able to satisfactorily imagine what the song was supposed to sound like. And you cover it amazingly as always! 🙂
Another wonderful song. I am also drawn to this beautiful song, as you said you were. Your deep connection with Middle Earth really adds another dimension to your performance of this song, over and above the magic your voice brings to it. As always the audio and video quality are superb. Thanks again!
This song got you a new sub! Also I'm in tears, truly captured the joy and innocence of Tom but also his deep understanding and love of ME. Very Hobbitesq in your rendition of Bears composition. Brings to mind Gandalf singing as he enters Bag End.
What a beautiful cover! And what a relief to find something I can actually sing along to in the car! (I can technically sing with the soundtrack version, but matching Wainwright or going up an octave are the extreme limits of my range, and I suck at figuring what I should be singing instead. 😅)
Amazing performance as always Rae, also watching the music production beforehand really makes it easier to identify and appreciate all the musical elements of the song.
A very beautiful voice and I even listened to a jolly sailor... I know that's not all of it but I can't remember the rest of it lol. Anyway you have a beautiful voice that sounds very angelic. I love it.
Hi Rachel! I was so happy to see Bear mention you on Twitter. I made sure to comment as well and included how i adored your version of This Wandering Day as well! Such a beautiful voice and a wonderful job with Ol Tom! I'm curious, would you be open to try High King Gil-Galad's "Golden Leaves" song as performed by Benjamin Walker in the new season? Cheers Rachel!

Thank you all so much for watching!! I’d love to hear what you think of the new season in the comments - did you watch it? What do you think so far?
