      If you have a garage there's no shame in an indoor ramp, but you could also do it with concrete . Most stores even give away broken bags for free, if you space it out enough you could do it for pretty cheap, just make sure to use filler to take up the bulk of the space, only the 4 inch surface layer should be actual cement, the rest can just be old bricks and rocks and dirt and solid garbage . There's tons of concrete diy builds on here, Thrasher posted a great one that's short and covers all key points.

      If you're still on the fence about this project, durability will depend on how hard it is used and whether it is protected. This could be either by simply keeping it out of the elements, or you could paint it or use a sealer. I'd use a roller for the base coat and then have a spraypainting party with the other folks you hope to share the ramp with.

    Did it end up being 53 timber struts total? It looks like 17 middle, 16 each quarter, then 2 additional for each quarter later on for the extra support/bracing ect?

    • @streetflowskateboarding8367
      @streetflowskateboarding8367  3 роки тому +1

      It’s actually 49 in total. 16 for each quarter in total then 17 for the middle section. I just rounded up to 50 in case of mistakes. The supports we added on are included in that total

    • @markclifford7321
      @markclifford7321 3 роки тому

      @@streetflowskateboarding8367 so with the quarters, it looks like you used 16 timber’s initially, then after realising it was a bit wonky, looks like on the vid you’ve added 1 full timber right in the guts, and 3 uprights at the back I’m guessing around 720mm each, which would be almost one full length cut into 3 smaller pieces. So would that make each quarter 18 timber’s each? Thanks for any info, love the vid you guys did an awesome job.

    • @streetflowskateboarding8367
      @streetflowskateboarding8367  3 роки тому

      @@markclifford7321 Oh I see what your saying. So firstly the one full length timber right in the guts does absolutely nothing and is just there because I had some spare timber so just ignore that. And when we built the first quarter we somehow added an extra bit but quickly realised and got rid of that. So just 15 on each initially and then the 1 extra for the vertical supports. 16 Total. Sorry for the confusion.

    • @markclifford7321
      @markclifford7321 3 роки тому +1

      @@streetflowskateboarding8367 yeah cool I see now that at one point you had 5 timbers on the top deck then changed it to back to 4, and when i was counting along it looked like there’s 16 then +2 later, but there actually was 15 + the extra bracing. Anyway, thanks again for the help and nice work.
