Hey man, thank you for taking your time for making us learn!! I would love to see more explanations on the mechanical grip window and the dumpers. Except brake bias, I’m completely lost in that :/
Really usefull, you inpired me to take some time this morning to change the default agressive to something I like more. And what a difference it makes, so much faster and fun! And definitly much better then searching for setups already made. thank you :D
At 12:40 or so, did you say for understeer you are lowering the Camber? You went from 4.0 to 3.8 or 3.6 or so in the front. Shouldn't that CREATE more understeer? Also, would you reduce the wing on this setup for a Race to make overtaking easier?
I think he meant to say that you don't need topspeed on this track. or you rather wanna go corner speed with high rake (rotation) high downforce (stability) rather than a little bit of topspeed.
I think he was saying that he'd set it to 10 but didn't actually need it that high and that it could be reduced? At the time he was playing with ride height.
This is really good for us ACC racers. And not so complicated to understand. Also will give us more confidence in learning better setups. Thx Jardier. Great stuff.👍👍
I’m new to the game and fell in love with the Bentley so this was a whole lot of fun for me. I was able to follow what you were doing and how the changes affected the car. Simple and informative for me, thank you!
My little understanding of ACC (i'm 1-1,5 seconds slower than you ) is: there is good oversteer and bad oversteer. I wasted so much time on trying to adjust my driving to an impossible oversteer but i only ended up in being afraid of making turns and spin too much ... I prefer to have a stable rear by adjusting aero , height , diff , rear toe , rear anti roll bar and THEN work to have a better rotation. That kind of approach has given more confidence and im really improving now , before i was just frustated with myself. I think it's a good advice to new comers i wish i had known some time ago.
Basically that's the point. Adjusting the car to you and not you adjusting to the car. Because if you know your likes and dislikes you can pick any car and adapt it to you and the track. The car can't control you and that's something I'm looking forward in setting up my cars. I really love the merc, I love the sound and the feel and the power, it's raw it's gnarly and nasty I love it. But it's rear is very loose, and I always struggled, i'm thinking of trying to adapt the setup more than just changing the car
I'll study this to death. "A little more connected" fits so well. I like my Lambo alot, and drive okay times for my pace yet. But I often feel sooo disconnected. I can't fully trust the car in slow turns and in some higher speed quick direction changes like on Monza. This will be insanely useful.
Really really Helpfull jard. please do more of this on each track would be nice. :p because other channel just put the setup and not explaining it. and what u do is very nice, a lil bit track characteristic explanation there. So yeah! really appreciate this. Thankyou so much :) Massive Help!
This is a great example of the journey of setting up a car. You always see people asking how do it or I found out people are buying setups! There really is no substitute for just doing the laps and trying different settings. I'm relatively new to the game but not sim driving and earlier I spent an hour around Hungary and took about 4 seconds off my lap just doing little tweaks and getting more used to the track. I'm used to the track in an F1 car but not GT3. There are no shortcuts or one size fits all setups, it really is just about putting the time in and tuning for the driver and the conditions. Really loving ACC, and your videos are really nice in-between sessions! Thank you!
Mate You are the best! After watch it I managed to drop the lap time for over 2 sec and stay constantly on it with not really pushing thanks a lot mate! PS. 1:38.0 on Oulton Park with BMW M6! THANKS A LOT!
Surely that would be understeer at high speed due to forcing the front to lift? At low speed it will have zero effect on steering seeing as aero requires a minimum of 90 kph to even have any noticeable effect.
Also: If you are needing rear wing to hold the rear end down, think about WHEN you are braking / changing gears too - mid corner will release tyre pressure and exacerbate making the car float, so think about scrubbing off speed on the straight before the corner.
There is one downside to consider with full wing though. It will make you have a hard time to pass others in the race if you are in cars like the aston or the ferrari. You will have to make do in the slower corners and not the main straight.
very use full video Jardier it's much appriciated, i love sim racing but i have no clue were to look wen some things happen like oversteer understeer or tire pressure and what to change in toe or bumpstop, camber etc. hope you do more in dept video's like these. kindest regards, Dennis.

Hi Jardier. I’m a beginner in Sim Racing and played this game for some weeks now. I got a pretty straight forward question: At which moment do I know that I’m ready for some online racing ? I can do a 2:27 at Spa (😔) but I’ve seen guys doing 2:16 at Spa too. Do I have to be at that level before entering online races or is there any entry level online races too ? Please be honest with your answer. 😬😅 I just wanna know where I’m at.
some people it takes years to reach top times, some are talented and it takes not that long, but its a matter of time anyway. learn how to race clean and how to behave in traffic, then good lap times will come. dont be too hard on yourself, cause youre gonna get discouraged very quickly. just drive clean and enjoy it, dont worry about lap times. there is always someone faster than you.
Love Ur bids lots of good info I got a 1min35sec in the 720 on this track can't wait to race online only just got the game so just spending some time on the offline racing with 28ai cars set to 85%
It’s really a problem when you make several changes before testing: you never know what works and what does not. Note the various settings do not work in isolation, the car is one package and changing one setting will impact every other one. Obviously if you know your car well, you get used to a set of changes working well together, but for beginner’s advice, it’s really important to tell people to change one setting at a time, then test it. In fact, if you’re new to the car, it’s even better to take a setting, put it at its lower value, test, then put it at its highest value, and test. That’s how you understand what everything does.
Thanks Jardier that was really helpful. Not to technical and easy to understand. Been using the Aston a lot and really want to try the Bentley so thanks 😊. Would the same principle work with the Macca being mid engined?

Hey, file is in description. Well except Monza, Spa, Paul you dont need to play with wing too much as it doesnt give you anything in return, so I rather focus on using max wing and then making the car around it - more stability and I can work with high rear :)
I think what he meant to say is that you don't need low wing and raising it would give you more turn stability rather than top speed that a low wing would give. Low wing top speed less turn, high wing less speed more turn.

@@canguro1638 Agree totally. I have a curved 32" screen (no room for triples and no graphics card to run them), plus Freetrack. Took a bit to set the FOV and virtual seat position, but now I've got it right it's working great for me.

Nice video! You mentioned this 'trick' is applicable to the Bentley, Aston Martin and Mercedes. What kind of changes are possible on the other cars? It would be a good video to have a quick guide to the 'handy changes' for each car.
Lower camber doesn’t mean more tyre contact and more grip. In a corner the force will push the tyre sideways, and therefore high camber will give you more tyre contact because it balances the side force out. High camber = more grip and more wear.
It does, it balances out the contact area of the tyre created from the forces of the car while turning. Depending on how strong and long the turn is the tyre life could actually decrease faster because the tyre on the outside would be pushed outwards creating a positiv camber if you will. So it all depands on the circumstances and whats needed, if you run the parabolica in Monza with really low downforce you risk losing traction, because the left front and rear will be forced outwords, so if the cambervalue was -3.2 it will be -0.4 in the actual turn or even less. So the contact area is spread across the tyre more when its under heavy forces, which means less wear as a whole not more. On the straights it doesnt matter that much what angle the tyre has because the wear is not that hard and the car stable and the weight evened out, normaly the camber is a little bit less at the rear because they dont take that much initial force while turning. So in Imola you run "a lot" of camber, but not because you want to kill your tyres fast and go quick, its because you want to turn in hard and fast and not kill your tyres.
This is my second Jardier-Setup-Video. I don't really understand why (it seems like) you never touch (=work with) the Front Splitter to minimize understeering, which you say doesn't correspond with your driving style. Is there no response from changing that in the game? Bad experience (poor topspeed)?

So in Imola you run "a lot" of camber, but not because you want to kill your tyres fast and go quick, its because you want to turn in hard and fast and not kill your tyres.
so higher rear more oversteer ?

Anyone know why my track map doesn't show up when I start a practice lap. Shows before I say drive but not after. I want to see the map and have it look like Jardiers view. Map is turned on in the Hud by the way. Nevermind, I figured it out. The margins have to be turned all the way down and press F2 to select the map to show. Should be set like this from default. I don't know maybe I messed with them watching other setup videos and messed it up to begin with. All good now.
Shift + M should change the map :)
