Liz is the only person who can listen to her own audio note and doesn't feel cringe. Such a soothing voice. And here we are..... Sounding like WW2 vintage guns.
I admire how hard you work. Can’t really imagine how you find time for everything. For me, between studying, working, spending time with girlfriend/family and still having some leisure time while sleeping 8 hours everyday seems impossible. But you do you, maybe I should start taking some notes of how you handle things!
It's always amazing to see the life of a medical student. You're one of my fav med youtubers. Love your content as I find it unique and interesting....I have started med school very recently and I hope to enjoy the journey as much as you do :)
Oh btw... I don't mean to be overly critical, but what you were showing at 3:40 was actually a CT scan. (Radiologist here) 🙃 Wonderful video anyway.. Brilliantly done. 👍
Leaving your room to get work done is so relatable. Over the years I've built the habit to do all of my work at the library and none of it in my apartment. I could literally drink 3 cups of coffee and still fall asleep if I come home late and try do get some work done. Unfortunately, this habit has led to a massive drop in productivity since the Covid outbreak (libraries are closed or have shorter opening hours) :/
Love the view from your window, particularly at sunset. I think I drove through it the other day, half expecting to see my car feature in a time lapse at some point - keeping eyes peeled
I think it's great that you have all these opportunities to learn from senior clinicians throughout your degree. It looks totally exhausting, but I admire anyone who has the determination to see it through, and I'm sure that we have better doctors as a result of the rigour of medical education in the UK. I think I'll stick to programming in my PJs though :P
This video is very helpful for me because it clearly shows your daily life in your university (including your home and riding the bus). Thanks for sharing! I am a Chinese senior high student studying Cambridge IGCSE. I will go to a university in the UK in 2023. I wanted to watch this because I wanted to learn more about UK university student’s daily life in advance. Also, the music in the video helped me to relax after studying for a long time.
Weirdly enough I always go to theatre on an empty stomach, I find I'm more focused and less likely to faint or get hungry by skipping breakfast... A bit counter-intuitive but works for me! Well done for using elogbook already. My biggest regret is not starting mine until I was an F1. Turns out you go to theatre A LOT more as a medical student than as a junior doctor!
Yes true, but I found it's actually pretty quick and easy to add the consultants manually, just have to look up their GMC number on the register (lmk if you need more details on how to do that!!)
@@spet2904 Oh my I didn't know that!! I've always been doing 'consultant unknown' and then adding their full name to my notes! I hadn't even thought of checking for the GMC numbers - is that a search option on the elogbook too? 😅
@@elizabethfilips elogbook isn't the most user friendly... When you're adding an operation, click 'Manage my Consultant List' then at the bottom in 'Add Non-Logbook User To My Consultant List' put their name in, click 'Add'. On the next screen you want to put their GMC number is the 'Registration ID' box and voila! And searching for GMC numbers is fairly easy on the register www.gmc-uk.org/registration-and-licensing/the-medical-register, unless they have a super common name!
Thank you for sharing, and I like learning from you. Your videos are special from the crowd, you are delivering a sense of peace and calm and full of knowledge. BTW, I also take Bus 185 a lot. X

When I saw the thumbnail I thought you were wearing a navy blue dress and I got so excited 😂😂 and I clicked without even reading the title And then I started watching the video and looked at the thumbnail again and I realised those were just scrubs 😂 but ngl you said you wanted to start wearing stuff that aren’t black and I think navy blue is a good start, it’s still a dark colour so it won’t feel like a leap and it looks amazing on you ❤️ loved this video liz! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Nothing changes at King’s, does it? Kudos for getting yellow scrubs out of the darn Scrubbex machine. I’d be the clown walking around in the massive orange/brown/purple/maternity pair.
