Wow! Such a nice machine! Sadly, I haven't seen a Pontiac Grand Prix GXP on the road in quite a few years now. I never owned one, but I did have a 2008 Grand Prix GXP as my demo car for about six months when I was a car salesman for a Buick/Pontiac/GMC Truck dealership I worked at from 1999 until they went out of business in late 2011. I did own and love an even rarer - 2005 Bonneville GXP that I traded my fully loaded & mint condition 1996 Bonneville SSEi in for... Plus, I got a great deal on the GXP because I worked there. During our final couple of years, we changed our name to Buick & GMC Truck... It was so sad when Pontiac, Saturn & many others went under. Sorry for the long comment... Thanks for bringing back some great memories I had when that car was new! 👍

I have a black 2008 grand prix gxp with the sun and sound package, which included a navigation system. People are always pulling up on me, asking me if I want to sell. No way I'm getting rid of this car. Four more years, it'll officially be considered a classic.

My mom had one of the lesser trims of this! As a 2004 in tan. I actually didn't know that this ever overlapped with the G8! I've still got my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT in blue since new

Nice to hear that you still have your '09 Pontiac G8 GT! In 2014, I wanted a car that was under $5,000.00 I got lucky and found the nicest one owner and loaded - 1999 Buick Park Avenue in the nicest color called... Emerald Green Pearl. It had only 67k miles on it. It had a clean CarFax, no damage or accidents, and the original owner kept all of the paperwork, including every receipt for whenever the car had scheduled maintenance, or if anything was fixed or replaced on this car! He was a fanatic & kept the car perfect inside and out! He waxed it once a year & he followed the maintenance schedule having it all worked on at the Buick dealer he bought the car from. He even, and most importantly - Broke the car in properly for the first 1,500 miles when it was new, going over the recommended 1,000 mile break-in period. Right from the first oil change, he changed the oil using synthetic every 5k miles. He sold it to me for only $3,900.00 in the summer of 2014! I continued his tradition until I traded in my still mint condition, but now with over 120k miles - '99 Park Avenue in December of 2017 for my current - 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 Premium RWD with optional navigation. I actually made a walk around and interior video of my Park Ave sometime in 2017 with over 100k miles on it, if you want to see it? Anyway, I was surprised the dealer gave me $2,000.00 for my trade! They listed my Park Ave about a week later for freaking $6,900.00 and ended up selling it! I don't know if the next owner negotiated the price or not? But he or she definitely bought the car. Damn, another long comment lol. Sorry about that.

I've had a few hot rodded GM fwd cars and the torque steer was never as bad as a bone stock mini S I had.

Add a big trans cooler and new filter trans max synthetic fluid . Never flush that transmission . Do a transmission service every 35 k by suctioning out 6-7 quarts from the dip stick tube using a hand suction pump takes me 15 min on a warm transmission .

  • @CaptainGameSlayer

Doesn't live up to the good reputation of an LS though. The transmission was also the weak point in these cars since GM did basically nothing to strengthen the trans to handle the added power from the LS4. Typical GM pinching pennies and producing frustratingly cheap unreliable crap in traditional american car maker fashion.
