Great hot lap. Like how U push the limit while still keeping it realistic, and the set up is that which every sim racer desires - piecemeal patchwork of the components that fit your style and purpose put together in the way that suits and reflects you. It's all excellent, but about the socks...
That's....a very nice build! And yes..im also very curious about the shifter. It sounds like a...frex rather than a ARC Carbon or a DSD. But the extensions is done pretty well. Nice build nice ride! Have some good wins!
The field of view or seat positioning seems to be a bit off - the front windshield is diagonal and doesn't seem to be where it should be: It doesn't rap around in front of you, but rather lists off away and up to the right and seems a bit too far off - maybe rFactor 2 is hard to set up for perfect triplescreen, I haven't tried it. Good video though buddy.
Derek, I think the view of the seat position "seems" bit off is because the camera position, i.e.: a monitor looks straight no matter which angle your camera is positioned -unlike in real car, the depth and angle change when camera position change,
Marcus Hwang's Weblog While that's true, I still think it's off. Notice the center monitor shows an equal amount of distortion as the one to the right that's at an odd angle to the camera. Also if you watch enough different UA-cam videos of sim racers' triple screen rigs, you'll notice the differences. A good example of a triple screen rig that has a good field of view for rFactor is Niels Heusinkveld. If you do a UA-cam search for him you can see that there's no distortion and the angle of the dash isn't affected much. But you're correct that the apparent distortion we see in the video is exagerated and that in person it wouldn't be so bad because of the monitor angle.
Awesome rig! Just wondering what wheel base you are using back there and what shifter if you don't mind telling. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed the video!
Beautiful rig. I will open up a world of controversy here and suggest that the FOV for this rig is way to far back. The dash should not be visible in this rig IMO. It is set to around 50 or 60 here and should be maybe 30.
cyprus LOK But you aren't seeing the motion he has in this simulator. Its $4000 for his motion setup, then the wheel is $1500. Then add up the 3 monitors, PC, pedals, shifters, dash display. I bet you are looking at ATLEAST $8000
MrSnowrocks $8000 buys you a 1-day performance driving class at the Skip Barber Racing School, plus the 3-day racing class, plus the 2-day advanced racing class (and a racing license and entry into real SCCA racing events). I think I'd rather spend the $8000 on that!
Riccardo Zamprogno Ya think? The Triple Monitors might take a big bite out of that 2000 Euro quite quickly? I agree 8+ Grand for that rig. The custom sequential shifter would most likely sell for 500 euro itself
Really enjoyed your video , thanks for sharing, would you mind showing us your sequential shifter? that thing looks good, is that frex modified? thanks again .
andy sky The Oculus is not better for this. Do you even own a triple monitor setup? Anyway I like to be able to see my steering wheel and shifter. The only thing better would be a motion seat in addition
John V once the higher resolution consumer version of oculus come out then it will definitely better than triple monitor. it has field of depth just like real life and you can sense the real life size of the cockpit. by the way, i have 120 inch projector
This may sound like a stupid question, but is the clutch really needed when using a sequential shifter? I thought sequential shifters removed the need for a clutch? Thanks for clarification!
Very good two lap on a rough but fun track ! How much more view do you really get out of three monitors? I've got one 42 inch monitor. Does it take much more computer power to run the three monitor ,instead of one. How do you get , like the temp, tires Rpms and all the stuff to show up on an Ipad or phone ? If you've got time to answer any of that stuff. Thanks Nice Laps.
Nice driving and a fantastic rig, love the gloves for extra immersion...lol :) Question: if there was anything you could change about this mod physics wise. What would it be? Also was you using any aids like traction control or ABS?
What shifter are you using? Looks like a modified handle but what are you using for a base? I've got a g27 h shifter with an S2000 ebrake handle wired to it. It's cool for the H function but I would probably prefer a sequential setup like yours. Thanks!
I liked the cockpit my wheel js037 no longer works I do not know who hears the last time I was playing the rf I would turn on a curve and suddenly I heard a noise of a latch in my wheel I think it was something that escaped
Whats al up with people questioning his use of gloves lol. I can image that if you tend to have sweaty hands its better to use them. I don't use them personally but last year I had a race in hot conditions 30+ degrees and got sweaty hands that caused I didn't had grip at all on the wheel. And about the socks,... I think 90% of the simmers use socks to have better feeling on the pedal you cant race with normal shoes xD. Killer rig btw!!!
the wheel runs over the car just turns right to left does not work on my steering wheel nor does one year I bought it if you know something I appreciate your response
left foot braking allows for a better "feel" of the car's traction, and quicker weight shifting, and balance around corners. It also eliminates the time it takes your foot to go from the throttle to the brake pedal throughout the race (hint: its a hefty amount)
I have a logitech g27 and i really want to improve the feel of it, so, is there anywhere that i can get a cheap Momo wheel mod and/or a sequential gear stick mod? :) i really want my setup to be realistic! Any help or advice would be much appreciated :)
The best of all is the tachometer.
what a fantastic setup. I only started racing a few weeks ago so Im in the early stages of my build. Great video

Insanly nice setup, dude! Cred! Nice driving , too!!
killer rig!
I love the gloves and socks combo!
I like the Fan under left monitor :D
Thats the intercooler lol
haha. you'r right hehe
yeah lol.. but why.. its not a open wheeler
Schallrausch just a hot summer day I guess
superacidi maybe =)
fuck all the hate comments, nice setup and driving man!
Nice driving and an excellent rig!! Impressive build
Respect! Only one thing is better...the real Nordschleife! =)
Now THIS is a legit set-up sir.
Your setup for sim racings are awesome
Awesome bit of kit there matey
A mí me ha encantado, gran video.
That's....a very nice build! And yes..im also very curious about the shifter. It sounds like a...frex rather than a ARC Carbon or a DSD. But the extensions is done pretty well. Nice build nice ride! Have some good wins!
Nice set up you have over there!
Man this guy must be a crazy driver in real life
That Stack tachometer is way too cool. How did you go about setting that up?
That is one kick ass rig!!!
excellent footwork!
I love that setup man, can you please describe it detailed?
clutch and brake with left foot nice m8
+Peshowww Thank you

Thanks for your advice.
***** you are a loser
That's not nice Cuzcom: elan26r is a decent guy.

Nice, with gloves but without shoes ;) Nice setup!
haha. besides the square corning not bad. You turn like 3-5 times on most corners.
this is a dreamers paradise:)
your gloves is very nice man.. i like it so much! :)
Hitting 277 downhill after the bridge is mighty fine. :)
And: Lotus Elan 26 - fantastic - i see a lot on nürburgring - nice
Wow! Incredible set up! Can you tell us about it?? :)
Arranco a las 8am y son las 23hs y estoy sentado ahi
Awesome set up. what did this cost you minus the monitors?
Beast setup! Gj
Trying to figure out what he's watching in the background on the bottom left.. oh, nice racing too though! :p
Thats a great setup!!
Awesome rig! Just wondering what wheel base you are using back there and what shifter if you don't mind telling. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed the video!
Nice drive. Great.
Lovely setup, but the FOV to me looks like you are driving from the back seat!
Beautiful rig. I will open up a world of controversy here and suggest that the FOV for this rig is way to far back. The dash should not be visible in this rig IMO. It is set to around 50 or 60 here and should be maybe 30.
FOV that I have used in rfactor2 is always 30-32.
Thank you for your advice.
cool !!!!! how much money you spend for this all set up ???
I think at least €2000
maybe
cyprus LOK But you aren't seeing the motion he has in this simulator. Its $4000 for his motion setup, then the wheel is $1500. Then add up the 3 monitors, PC, pedals, shifters, dash display. I bet you are looking at ATLEAST $8000

Possible - its cold, in germany for example - heating the rooms are very very expensive :-) !
FOV seems a bit too high, but awesome setup. Love the analog rev counter.
Nice rig man:)
Really enjoyed your video , thanks for sharing, would you mind showing us your sequential shifter? that thing looks good, is that frex modified? thanks again .
set up number one and so real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want this for my off season. You got a stack rev counter too. Fucking bad ass!!!!
oculus rift dk2 is even better
andy sky The Oculus is not better for this. Do you even own a triple monitor setup? Anyway I like to be able to see my steering wheel and shifter. The only thing better would be a motion seat in addition

It would be realy great to know something about your Setup! looking exactly for something like this for a Racing Pro Friend!
Agree
AWESOME setup sir, But WHERE are ur racing shoes ??? :-)
Great Video.
Hi Elan 26 r, How did you change the right monitor angle? I can´t see the right mirror.
thxs & nice driving :D

Agonistic Clock
Yes it helps. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Have a good day !

клевый тахометр :)
is he going to cook?
amazing rig you have there. What the hell happened to rFactor 2? it's like it has fallen off the map.
Cavolo guida con i guanti... e calzini...e nonostante questo guida meglio di me!
I liked the cockpit my wheel js037 no longer works I do not know who hears the last time I was playing the rf I would turn on a curve and suddenly I heard a noise of a latch
in my wheel I think it was something that escaped
Where did you buy the equipment ?
NICE !!!! ;D
I wonder how do those meters works. Are you planning for clutch + H-shifter anytime soon?
i can see the power meter going round very fast
Awesome driving, Awesome Rig. Frex ?
Whats al up with people questioning his use of gloves lol. I can image that if you tend to have sweaty hands its better to use them. good drive
the wheel runs over the car just turns right to left does not work on my steering wheel
nor does one year I bought it if you know something I appreciate your response
What is the cockpit???
What brand is steering, handbrake and pedals???
thanks you
Haters gonna hate, potato gonna potate .
Good job +elan26r
awesome rig, how do you get the tach to work.
Why do you brake whit the left foot. And why do you dont make all the shifts ?
But nice video and Hardware
Its a sequential shifter, not a manual, he sometimes uses the clutch to avoid wheel lock which would make him spin.
left foot braking allows for a better "feel" of the car's traction, and quicker weight shifting, and balance around corners.
It also eliminates the time it takes your foot to go from the throttle to the brake pedal throughout the race (hint: its a hefty amount)
Nice equipment there! What is it?
holy hell dude what car do you drive?
He spent all his money on this simulator so I reckon a VW Polo :)
It is there that knows the firm that sells
+tahsin kuvancı sells what? The wheel, rig, monitors, game?
Le bocchette dell'aria non ce le hai messe nel marchingegno?
Gardening gloves eh? Nice.
Gardening gloves , hah lol. :)
like the fan doe in the back ground simulating real wind against your face XD lol jk
What about the wipers!? Where they are???????!!!!!! :D
I have a logitech g27 and i really want to improve the feel of it, so, is there anywhere that i can get a cheap Momo wheel mod and/or a sequential gear stick mod? :) i really want my setup to be realistic! Any help or advice would be much appreciated :)
io gli avrei fatto installare anche l'autoradio..!!
Hide this room from all the women in your life. for your sake
I want to make a simulator, how to get out put data from nFactor2, speed, acceleration.rpm etc??
bro i really wanna know how do u setup this console.. can give some advice.. will be must appriciate if u can share..
You should get yourself a heel toe setup
I've looking around but I can't find that mod for Porsche 997 GT3... would you be able to post the link? Much appreciated:)

*****
I just had a look at your link... Man, that's awesome! thanks:)
Are the gloves is necessary to use them on the game o.o
yes , the hands sweet and cause the steering wheel slip , and the sweat damage the material of the wheel
Its a welder gloves?
Wear racing gloves, drive with socks, f**k logic ! But nice setup and nice drive. What a pleasure it may be to pilot with this type of equipement.
yeah calluses...when you drive everyday ^^
Habe ja noch nie einen Fahrer ohne Schuhe gesehen.
Epic
Ich trag auch (fast) nie welche beim Sim-Racing. :D
how i get the mod (nordschleife touri track ) ???
where is your protection mate you are forgetting the helmet ? haha
yeah, why all the racing ppl using gloves on the pc? because of fire? lol
+fellpower because the wheel is slippery
Does no one here know what a server motor's FFB strength is? It's pretty rough
Hey! Please, can you send me a link to this mod? I was not able to find any Porsche Mod for rf2!?!? :(
You have racing gloves but np shows on..
*shoes
He´s too nervous with the acclerator. Like pressing it 10x per sec
It was his first video recording! ;)
Think, the gloves makes more touch&grib like with
real racewheel...so driving with only socks ;)
Whats your wheel and your shifter?
It's an older frex wheel :)
wow
Is rFactor2 very diffrent from rFactor1?
a little bit
Hot steering wheel?
