Nice to see this equipment in action. Now for some constructive driving criticism: Smoother on the brake, only downshift one gear at a time, and google heel-toe downshifting to see how to do it smoothly while braking.
i own the g27 wheel and gt5. And you can play without it. But it so much more fun with the clutch! How you can shift without the clutch: 1) you have the peddals on the wheel to shift with. 2) if you shift 1 time with the peddals and then shift with the gearbox only (no clutch) it works. So you can shift with your gearbox without using the clutch. But if you like racing games, save some money and buy the wheel! It is so realistic and awesome!
Idk about all the people hating. To me this vid is pretty damn freaking great man. Perfect demo. And you got all the stuff there, which makes it even more badass.
Granny shifting, missing gears, locking up the brakes, coming into turns too hot, complete disregard to other drivers, loosing control of his vehicle and almost spinning out and a lot more but like he said in the annotation, it's just a video game. Most people on here probably can't do any better but it makes them feel better to make fun of people over the internet. Nobody is a perfect driver.
That depends on the game. For games that have e-brake, you can program any of the buttons on the wheel to e-brake. GT5 and NFS Hot Pursuit for example have e-brake. You can even assign the clutch pedal to e-brake.
If you change the driving setting in GT5 to manual, AND you want to play with G27 Wheel/Pedal/shifter setup then you have to use the clutch to shift. Gear won't shift unless you engage the clutch. Now, if you use the paddle shifters, which are sequential, then you don't need to use the clutch pedal.
Hep ! Don't press the clutch while braking. Use the brake, and the engine brake. You'll be able to hear the rpm of the engine, give you the ability to downshift well, and not to downshift when you realize the rpm is to low ;)
You don't loose the control of your car by pressing the clutch. You loose the traction, but you have more control. By pressing the clutch, you balance as equal as possible the weight on your tires, making the car grip more the ground. When loosing control on a 6cm depth water under the rain, press the clutch to be able to regain it, and to turn. Or you'll have good chance to do like the mercedes at 0:43 -> /watch?v=yFQUl9w55uQ
Bit of advice. Don't know if you drive stick or not, but IRL if you keep resting your hand on the shifter like that, you'll prematurely wear out your synchros.
It's worth every penny. I enjoy every minute of it. The whole setup is a lot cheaper than it looks. Prices differ. Take a look at Amazon.com for the various price options.
Pedals, possibly; the shifter, probably not. The G25 shifter has the option of switching to a different gearbox (either the 6-gear manual or down to shift up and up to shift down).
It has force feedback. I have it set very low. Also the strength of the force feedback depends on the road. If you on go off road or snow, you get a LOT of feedback.
I've never used a setup anything like this but I couldn't see it being very useful for leaning how to drive a stick. Unless they have force feedback for for clutches and shifters, driving a stick has a lot of feel to it that I'm not sure this could replicate.
Downshift and brake before you turn so that you can have both hands on the steering wheel. You can release one hand from the steering wheel as you exit the turn and shift up. Also follow the driving and that will give you a good idea where to enter and exit your turns... Peace bro! Nice wheel! I have the Driving Force Gt and it's not nearly as good as what you have #imjealous
Wow.. I used to play every Gran Turismo game nonstop growing up, and this is pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen LOL... But there was never a Clutch on the controller, so does the clutch actually do something? Can you shift without it?
I'm not sure but I don't think you can with the g27. I know the G25 has both sequential and H shift modes, so if you just want the sequential shift, I suggest you look at the G25 instead.
PS- your tech. is above average. Slow in~Fast out, skrate clutch work, you know what an Apex is, not scared to use the brake, not 'balls-to-the-wall'n' it... AND you're in 1st person view? Some mistakes but pretty damn good in my opinion. But ya know what they say about those?
I know you can use any wheel in GT5, but can you drive the car in gt5 with the wheel in any view. Like cockpit view, or the full car view? I saw a lot of videos on UA-cam and all of them were driving like all the way front view.
Gran turismo is such a different experience when you play with a wheel pedals and a clutch
Lol after 6 years this is still the most viewed gameplay video of any Gran Turismo game.
It must be ten times more fun than it appears. HD screen, stereo sound system.
It is nice to have a large, bright room with carpet like that to just put a set of sim-racing kit inside, fun and comfortable.

Chris Wyatt ikr
I want to buy it for my son
Chris Wyatt it's a turbo son.

Tip: Put 2 hands on the steering wheel while driving unless you want to shift and also try to master brake modulation
Bro thinks he's god arm dawg 💀💀
Yes, they are. You can use them to do sequential shift as well.
Bit of advice. Don't know if you drive stick or not, but IRL if you keep resting your hand on the shifter like that, you'll prematurely wear out your synchros.
Its not really a review, but its probably the best review of the wheel. If you get what im saying.
OMG, dude, grand turismo 5 Rocks, I play it on playstation, but with a different steering wheel. The game Rocks!
no control at all on his cornering and it looks like he is using all the assist at max.
Cool. I think you'll like it a lot. I can't play any racing game w/o it anymore.
The RSA in Ireland actually used this wheel setup to teach people safe driving and almost how to drive
It's worth every penny. I enjoy every minute of it. The whole setup is a lot cheaper than it looks. Prices differ. Take a look at Amazon.com for the various price options.
Pedals, possibly; the shifter, probably not. The G25 shifter has the option of switching to a different gearbox (either the 6-gear manual or down to shift up and up to shift down).
it's a force feedback wheel of course it's meant to spin on it's own that's why you keep your hands on the wheel
Man you are pretty fast holy damn. am deffinelty going to look in one of these things, thanks for the video
Nice setup and good driving skill too.
yes just use the shift paddle behind the steering wheel but if you car is automatic then you can you the clutch for drifting with out any work
Your English is fine. :) Driving with the shifter is more fun than the sequential clicker on the wheel.
You can use the paddle shifters on the wheel if you choose not to use the clutch.
Just put Gear 1 as shift up and gear 2 as shift down and its a sequential gearbox. Add a rubber band to make it stay in neutral between gears.
It has force feedback. I have it set very low. Also the strength of the force feedback depends on the road. If you on go off road or snow, you get a LOT of feedback.
Thanks! I got both the chair and the wheel from Amazon.
Driving with only one hand on the steering wheel: "Just because I can !" Nice vid ! ;)
For all the quarters I dropped on 'Street Racer' at the bowling ally, I could have afforded this kick-ass set-up!!! I guess word IS bond?
you should master the heel-&-toe downshifting technique!
It will surely help you slow down efficiently!
Point taken. I don't drive like this in real life of course. Thanks for the input.
You can use the paddle shifters. But It's more fun and realistic to use the gear shifter .. just like it is in real cars.
that way,you are not using engine brake to your advantage - vehicle brakes faster + you are always in the right gear
the best and clean setup liked it
I've never used a setup anything like this but I couldn't see it being very useful for leaning how to drive a stick. Unless they have force feedback for for clutches and shifters, driving a stick has a lot of feel to it that I'm not sure this could replicate.
Por dios!!!Que alguien le explique a este muchacho como se conduce!!disfrutara más de este gran simulador!!!
Get the g27 if you have the money, the driving force is also a good wheel, but the g27 is a better wheel, and it have 2 moters
nice video!
you can use the clutch without shifting? when you drifting for example?
What are you people saying "He sucks at driving", he is a really good driver!
dude try to anticipate the gear change before you get to the corner, that way you can have both your hands on the wheel most of the time
Yes. You can adjust the pedal bar.
Nuce set-up bro. Where did you get the chair?
I know man.. I was just giving them a head start :)
Yeah, 2nd gear is a bit clunky. You have to put the clutch all the way in for it to engage compared to the other gears.
True. You can also paddle if you want to.
one piece of advice if u want to go faster try putting both hands on the wheel after u have changed gear :)
Downshift and brake before you turn so that you can have both hands on the steering wheel. You can release one hand from the steering wheel as you exit the turn and shift up. Good video bro. just so funny how you hopped on the seat, cracked your fingers like your the shit.. Then stalled at the line lol
nice set up workin on same setup
I need one like that. Great stuff man.
Litle advice, when you do downshifting... Do it gear by gear, dont jump from 5 to secnd... imposible and make you unstable...
can you make another video where you have the camera pointing at the your left side where we can clearly see your clutching more better
yes i works with ps3 i have one. you just plug it in and go to controller settings and setup the steering wheel
I've never tried the DF GT so I don't know how it is. But I can tell you the g27 is awesome.
Hey men, i liked so much the seat og GT5, where did you buy it? It looks amazing!
Ha, i didn't know the clutch actually worked, awesome.
why didnt you use the paddle shifters? nice driving and setup thought!
awesome!!! I want to play gt5 this way too, how much is all kit that u got there buddy? I just have the ps3 and gt5 cd =/
I'm not sure. Try googling around. I'm sure there some info out there.
I see that wheel doesn't wobble which is good. But pedals are a little. Anyway good setup.
Damn, I know this is from like 7 years ago, but please don’t rest your hand on the shifter. Steer with two hands if you actually want control
Excellent seat, just a question for the g27 the gears can also be use as sequential gears (like the paddle shifters)?
i liked your driving buddy.
Great video dude... gotta have it!
I wish I would have had this a few years ago, when I was still playing on my PS
If there wasn't a racing line this vid would be awesome
You forgot to stretch first
my definition of infinite fun.
You may want to adjust the force feedback. Your may be set too high.
Let go of the gearstick once in a while, it's not going to fall off.
great driving
if he owned that lambo, we'd be smelling burnt clutch like crazy
there are moving all pedals in same time ,, cause sim players like to make it by self
You can use the wheel in any view.
Nice rig. I'm sure you will learn how to drive on it soon.
Great start
One question to you: The camera is installed at front car view. Can you do a view of inside the car? That would be so much better (i think)
I don't think it supports XBox officially. It's not mentioned anywhere in the system requirements. Only PC, and PS2/3 are mentioned.
Nice setup, but just to point one thing.... you cannot drive a race with one hand on your wheel. keep up!7
PS- your tech. is above average. Slow in~Fast out, skrate clutch work, you know what an Apex is, not scared to use the brake, not 'balls-to-the-wall'n' it... AND you're in 1st person view? Some mistakes but pretty damn good in my opinion. But ya know what they say about those?
It's the SV. Paddle shifters dude!
Chair: $400. Wheel, Gear, & Pedals: $300 at the time. It could be cheaper now.
I know you can use any wheel in GT5, but can you drive the car in gt5 with the wheel in any view. Like cockpit view, or the full car view? I saw a lot of videos on UA-cam and all of them were driving like all the way front view.
Dewd ur an awesome driver (u should see me when I drive)
You know what would be even better? Using that on the PC w/ TrackIR XD
No heel and toe shifting?
Driving stick on this can help you drive a real stick shift car?
It won't be a replacement for learning on a real car but it'll help you get the concept down.
Not bad...but you do need to work on your shifting and lamborghinis have paddle shifters and so do you it makes it a whole lot easyier
also check up thrustmaster, they got some wheels, pedals, and shifter for XBOX
Thanks! I'll try that next time. :)
yes i used to try to quickshift adn end up in N but u get the hang of it later on
G27 definetely ! The price difference is worth it
Nice setup man i'm jealous
yes the g27 has both from what i have heard
