A wolf of hunger, a lamb of slaughter. Such is death, always taking, yet always alone and always hungry. Thats why he took an ax, and split himself down the middle.
I find this one to especially tragic. Wolf usually understands feelings but since he lacks the profound knowledge, he does not understand what tears are: The consequence of intense feelings
@@CS_Mango I always seen it as something said after the part where he says "so he will always have a friend?" because the pale man was lonely and didn't have anyone
In Kindred's story, the "pale man" is them before they split into two.. they're the death symbol in Runeterra and kind of Yin and Yang as well.. there's darkness in the Lamb and light in the Wolf. Lamb gives the ones that accept death a painless passing and Wolf brutally murders those who run from death. One is deaf, the other can't see. One can understand emotions, but can't feel, the other can feel, but can't understand.
although lamb seems more yin (less energy, cold, reason) and wolf seems more yang (more energy, hotheaded, emotion), so i sort of wish their colors were switched. i don't think they each represent light or dark or good or evil because they are both a face of death, in which all is ultimately equal.
@@Gaze73 funny how that’s what you pickup in the story. It’s more weird how man turns into a wolf and a lamb. I think kindred is more of s concept, rather than an entity

@@hyphontypool5526 The lamb is the blind one if you relisten to it you'll hear the lamb ask if the wolf is there. Also if you read the comment again the first characteristics are the wolf and the second the lamb. Since the wolf does not have a physical body and does not understand feelings even though he can feel them while the lamb understand and does not feel. That's why the lamb asked the wolf what it feels like when he's sad. I hope that helped a little.
Kindred is so interesting to me because of how Lamb and Wolf's personalities reflects human understanding of death. Lamb embodies our logic and understanding, she is the acceptance of death. While Wolf is instincts and emotions, the animalistic desire to run from death. As humans who have the ability to think about and philosophize death, we logically can grasp that yeah, we all will one day die and we can accept that. However, when it comes down to it, we as animals will naturally fear death and want to flee when confronted by it.
"The only true death is to never live" when you realize this comes from the spirit that takes you away. It really makes you think, damn, how much scarier is it to waste your life rather than to lose it
When one dies they still live traces to show they lived memories with a loved one,a child,a silly comment you wrote, a kind word you said to someone and so many other things so the one way to truly kill someone is to erase those traces for if they are not there how can you show you truly lived
You know, some are going on how this is really sad and giving them existential crisis. But You also have to remember... someone sat down on his table at Rito HQ and wrote this shit.
The new Fiddlesticks taunts his enemies with their fears. And how does he taunt Kindred? "Pale Man..." Kindred fears becoming one being. Kindred fears being alone again.
@@Starryeyeddreamer2001 No if you go back an watch their interaction Lamb says they understand his loneliness but to stay away cause of his curse still. Makes you think how bad his curse is.
Fiddlesticks copies the voice of his victims, a long time ago when kindred was one being, when fiddlesticks killed someone they could see kindred "the pale man" come for them, so that's how Fiddle got the voiceline "pale man" At least that's my theory
Aparently Fiddlesticks only says the names of Demonic champions like Evelynn, and Kindred falls under than category. But, he only calls them by their demonic name, so he calls Kindred "Pale Man" since its their original name
“How do they see me” “Ashes on wool” “What sound do they make” “Feathers falling on fresh snow” This gets me every time. The lines contrast so much with each other which is what makes it powerful. “ashes on wool” would seem as if they stood out; the starkness of the black on white. However, “feathers falling on fresh snow” would imply that not a single sound or whisper could be heard. So I see these lines as “you may have stood out, but did you really make a sound in the end?”
Another aspect of this is that one is blind while the other is deaf. They need each other to see and to hear, to feel emotion and to understand emotion.
The Kindred, Lamb and Wolf, are quite honestly the best portrayals of Death I have ever seen. They are what they are, and never change, just as death itself never changes. It simply is, and so are they. And in keeping with that, they have no desire to speed up the process of time, as seen in a lot of media where death becomes an antagonist. They are ever-patient hunters content to let the prey come to them, rather than track it down to begin the hunt prematurely. Because they are inevitable.
@@kingjalilo1430 Jhin is obsessed with death, but he is not death itself. Jhin sees death as beatiful, as art for him to create, but ultimately any death he causes will have Kindred watching over it. It is the difference between a cultist and their object of worship. Honestly, the fact that Jhin and Kindred have no interactions ingame is massive missed opportunity. Both are asociated with death (One is obsessed with it, the other one is death itself) and both have an artistic flair to it, Jhin seeing himself as an artist while Lamb has her poems, stories and dancing animations. Yet despite all this I doubt they would find much common ground seeing as Jhin puts value in the very art of death while to Kindred death is just a natural part of life and it is how one lived that gives meaning.
Death is nothing negativ, it in itself does neither hurt nor harm anything, the things surrounding it may, the thing causing it may, but not death itself. It is coming home, falling asleep, nothing to seek nor to run from

I feel.. Wolf forgets and Lamb knows this. And she asks him questions to help him remember. Tells him things to remind him who they are. When she says something he would finish it and then she would say it and he would finish it. She answers all his questions. And tells him great things. To keep him to remember and would tell him again if he were to forget. She lets him finish her sentences so that he can remember.
Wolf is more like he’s forgetting himself with all the lives he have taken, becoming more and more like a animal but acts on his instincts and feeling, while lamb has become numb with no emotions with all the lives she has taken, but she remembers them all. Lamb makes sure to help wolf remember himself and what they are bound to do, while wolf makes sure to tell lamb what feelings and emotions are. Like the saying “never one without the other”. They both need each-other to do their job so one will never lose themselves. Killing does something to you, it takes apart of yourself and destroys it, either to a insane killer or a emotionless killer. They have been taking people lives for so long, but they are stable when together. So they can be Death itself.

The Kindred's death is kind of a paradox. They'll never end, because they're Death. Even if their time comes, they won't be able to hunt each other, because the Lamb won't fear death, and the Wolf won't be able to hunt her. The Wolf will fear death, and the Lamb won't be able to hunt him. Everything is temporary, but the Kindred are eternal.
Actually in a short tale of them there's a quote where wolf asks to lamb if she would chase him when they hunted all beings and lamb answered; i would never run from you..dear wolf My interpretation is that lamb wouldn’t run from wolf bcse she would chase him Or she wouldn’t chase him bcse she would accept her “fate”
Lamb embodies acceptance, understanding death and so not fearing it. Wolf embodies feelings, knowing death and thus fearing it. What's crazy about this portrayal of death is that Lamb isn't portrayed as the "correct" way to approach death, she is cold and apathetic just like someone when they come to understand their end. But neither is wolf as it comes from a place of fear and rejection, an innocence embodied by his child like behaviour. There isn't even a middle ground where both approach can meet (right down the middle), both approaches are intertwined, (never one, without the other.) because there really isn't a correct way to deal with death (or portray it). There is only death and it's no abstract concept, it's the only thing that's real (we are not dreams, we are the waking). Hands down best portrayal of death since the discworld series.

The dynamic of their relationship is so deep and unique. Whilst Lamb is knowledgeable she is unable to feel. Wolf is strangely clueless about the emotions. Despite this Wolf seems to understand that he needs Lamb, that with her he has a friend. Lamb meanwhile seems to bear some sort of unspoken affection for Wolf, just like how he needs her around she acknowledges in the same way she needs him around just as much. It's never explicitly said, but the way they flow off of one another speaks volumes.
Lamb is the fast gentle death like one dies in its sleep....while wolf is the slow painfull death like one dieing of cancer or an illness that one trys to cure with no avail...both are one and both are separate...one is an embracing loving hug that rocks you into enternal sleep while the other gnaws at your body taking everything from you untill you are nothing but pain and sarrow....
quinn rice The lamb allows you to sleep peacefully and walk through the gates as a willing man. An old man who greets death a calm smile. The wolf would chase down a solider who run as far they could or fight the beast, the child who enjoys one last gambit of a struggle with smidge amount of hope to see Tomorrow. He will encourage you to fight as long as you can, make the end as far as possible. Wolf gets to hear the soft and scared sounds of those who run, the lamb sees their humble targets who are willing to accept them.

I REALLY hope they will show Kindred in the Arcane series. Not maybe at second season but at some point, and it wouldn't even need to be a big role. Kindred as looming figures at background or for a quick moment with some of their memorable quotes would be such a chilling scene.
Yeah. Maybe have one of the characters get injured badly. While they’re fading in and out of consciousness, they start hearing the voices of people they’ve met in life and on the show and then for a second they hear another set of voices. “We know your name.” “We have always known it.” Then they wake back up.
Would be great, and they can take it further by introducing kindred after jhin to explain his obsession with death. Jhin could have some experience which allowed him to catch a glimpse of kindred. Where he couldve learnt his humming tune from and his obsession with finding beauty in death. Which also opens a door for him to be part of the 'A good death' story
These are such an amazing portrayal of death. They show different sides of death. Wolf shows it as a violent experience that should be feared. Death is not kind and you should run before it catches you. You must go out with a fight. Lamb shows death as a peaceful thing, something that marks your life as something beautiful. Life is temporary and no one can escape its end. Don't run, don't struggle, this was always meant to happen. This is what I think the main message is: Let death embrace you but do not let it comfort you. Just because you always knew death would come doesn't mean you should feel comforted by it. No, still fear its cold, cruel gaze but do not forget that this harsh being marks the end of something beautiful.
Dear gods that's amazing and such an original take on them. Many just see them as yet another "death is good, die and stop existing because mortality makes life matter" but what you said was just... I can't put it into words exactly but it's so fucking true
"Those who ran from death stood still in life" Obviously, avoid death, but don't let the fear of it cripple you, but rather push yourself, "struggle", so at the end you can embrace death willingly, on your terms. That's my interpretation.
It’s.. not quite comforting, but somewhere close to it. The smooth and rough voices. The calm, devoid voice and the rough, uncertain voice. I can see why I liked this video and still do. Just inspires me to animate.
There's also a video about their quotes in Legends of Runeterra (Kindred & Leblanc Card Interactions from SkinSpotlights) where they talk together as well, and a comment describes this well by calling their voices "ear candy"
Obviously you don't understand it because the story lamb tells the man is the grim reaper the wolf is bad the lamb is good basically when you accept death and are ar peace you'll see lamb if you fear death and fight back and struggle the wolf will hunt you down making the ending much more scary
@@celticrebel5229 It's not a matter of Good and Bad. Once one dies they can either accept death, or run from it, and whatever their choice may be, they'll find the Lamb or the Wolf respectively afterwards
"Those who run from death.. stood still in life." This quote is so freaking good. I mean all of their quotes are good tbh. But this quote specifically is especially motivational and applicable in our lives. It tells us that we can't freeze up or get stuck up on our fears. Fear of mistakes, fear of being embarrassed, fear of failing, fear of not meeting expectations, fear of never reaching your goal, fear of death. We have many fears, but we can't let these fears stop us in our journeys in life. If the hero in a story stopped and gave up because they were afraid of failing, then the story would end right there. Or at least, we would find it very boring or unattractive. We read follow a hero's journey to the end because we want to see the hero overcome their obstacles, defeat the villain or succeed at their goals. Many people fall short of their dreams because they're afraid. Afraid of failing, afraid of not being accepted, afraid of being afraid. And it's okay to be afraid. It's only natural. Fear is simply apart of our instincts; fear protects us from danger. But sometimes, that danger is the obstacle we must conquer to reach new heights. If humans were always afraid of animals and never thought to fight back, we wouldn't have made it to the top of the food chain. Instead, we grew and overcame these dangers, these obstacles. Humans made it this far because we learned through failures faster than any other animal. So don't let a problem keep you hung up. "Go easily.", Kindred "No! Thrash, flee! Run if you can!", Wolf Kindred is logic, telling us to give up against impossible odds. Wolf is emotion, telling us to never give up whether it be due to spite, anger, or ambition. You have nothing to lose, so why not try? "How one dies shows how one lived." Death is but a reflection of life. When we die.. we either die happy, knowing that we did all we could and made the most of it or tried. Or we die full of regret, wishing we had tried. "They struggle, good." Quite literally Wolf telling us he's glad we didn't give up. That we're willing to try to the end and not give up. (Don't FF 15, it ain't over till it's over.) Or Wold is just a little sadistic. "Embracing life means accepting death." Pursuing your ambitions, means accepting potential mistakes. You miss every skillshot you don't throw. If you keep your eyes shut to opportunities, you miss seeing the beauty of Lady Luck taking your hand. With that, my comment comes to an end. As all things do. But that didn't stop me from writing it, and sharing my thoughts with you.

@@lillapecsi8684 That may be, but in context of the matter at hand (that DarkPegasus said that Wolf's story is "Neverending") i can and will take Kindred's own quote as the truth. Because if someone knows what happens after death it is the personfication of death itself in the universe of Runeterra. And since Kindred themselfs say ALL stories end that also includes their own story.
Notice how there's no pause between Lamb and Wolf's lines, that to me indicates how they're each one half of the same being. The responses between their dialogue happens instantly after the one is finished talking, because there's no need to think of an answer. When Wolf asks Lamb a question, she already has the answer and vice versa. I think it's a really nice touch.
Because in the lore when the person acepts death they get the swift arrow of lamb. When they dont acept death and run from it wolf chases him thats why he wants them to run from dearh
It's kind of interesting, though. Wolf is both the good and bad of fighting against death. You survive, even if only for a minute. You feel emotion coursing through you, just as Wolf does. Lamb is understanding but cold. Much like those who have accepted death, emotion is no longer needed.
I just realized that the behaviour of lamb and wolf is pretty identical to how our two brain hemispheres work. One is logical and doesn't feel emotions, while the other feels emotions but is not logical...
That implied backstory of Kindred is beautiful. A god of death would be quite lonely, so the idea of one deliberately becoming two so that they would never be alone again is so bittersweet
Look out for the game's lore, it is amazing, really. Some true, good and long (goddamn that lore is extense lol) stories to hear to. I highly recommend it!! also, dont play the game if you praise your mental health lol, from a league player
There are and have been many interpretations of Death, many of them nightmarish and horrific, what many forget is, just as Lamb and Wolf said, Death is a part of life, and endless cycle that will only be done when all the energy of the universe is expended. Then and only then will wolf and lamb hunt one another, the final dance of the dying light
And ''imagine understanding feelings but never being able to feel them'' I UNDERSTAND you yet not sure if I can feel you. I feel too much but I always have this feeling that I don't feel things as I should. Something is lacking
The fact wolf and lamb both encourage one to live, with Lamb stating the basic meaning of beauty while Wolf actively encourages you to run and make the most of your last moments... Fucking hell i love it. I cried
firdaus gaara Death IS a part of life. No one chooses to die, only fate decides who gets to meet their end first. The philosophy that Kindred follows is that death is a part of the cycle of life that no one chose to be in.

I love how the Lamb voice is calm yet comforting while the Wolf is intimidating and brutal, and yet the Wolf speaks with emotions regarding death, and the Lamb's tone becoming eerie when calmly talking about life.
You know, I came back and realised something. Lamb sounds.. Like a mother sometimes, especially when she tells the story. It is quite poetic, to be brought into life by a mother and be politely guide to death by mother figure.
Standing still in life may not be a literally standing still. Every new day is a hope to do something fun, enjoyable, worthwhile. To move in life is to fill your days with fulfilling moments, be they building the mightest bridge....or eating potato chips to a youtube video, realizing and trying to grasp the meaning of life, yet never holding onto the answer long enough to understand.
Wolf is like an emotional child. He feels and doesn't understand. Lamb is emotionally disconnected but is understanding. She understands but doesn't feel.
@@chaosoth9578 I dont know about that. To be able to feel the meaning of something but can never comprehend idea to why it is so in itself pretty bad. But then again to to be able to understand the meaning behind something but can never feel why it is so is in itself pretty bad too.

I don’t think a colour swap would fit honestly
I don't get how one is deaf, since both have conversations with each other verbally.

While Wolf is instincts and emotions, the animalistic desire to run from death. As humans who have the ability to think about and philosophize death, we logically can grasp that yeah, we all will one day die and we can accept that. Because they are inevitable.
so are we just gonna forget about jhin??
You should have the video coda by maps and plans. That’s also quite a beautiful portrayal of death.

A child only living in the present than thinking of what case before. A dutiful lamb must remind them so they cannot forget what they are bound to do.
I know this is an old comment but yeah it does seem like Lamb is the only thing keeping Wolf lucid.

Uff
That's why they're called the eternal hunters
They are eternal until eternity ends
This is pretty creative and insightful. Well done.
Actually in a short tale of them there's a quote where wolf asks to lamb if she would chase him when they hunted all beings and lamb answered; i would never run from you..dear wolf
My interpretation is that lamb wouldn’t run from wolf bcse she would chase him
Or she wouldn’t chase him bcse she would accept her “fate”

Wolf wants people to fight and delay their end. Lamb wants them to accept. Wolf wants blood, lamb wants peace. They are the perfect embodiment

Lamb feels motherly to wolf imo

There was already their mask in the first season as an easter egg
@@kolliwanne964 That's a start.

While they’re fading in and out of consciousness, they start hearing the voices of people they’ve met in life and on the show and then for a second they hear another set of voices.
“We know your name.”
“We have always known it.”
Then they wake back up.
Kindred rly is walking late at night trough a dark alley chilling material
These are such an amazing portrayal of death. They show different sides of death. Wolf shows it as a violent experience that should be feared. Death is not kind and you should run before it catches you. You must go out with a fight. Lamb shows death as a peaceful thing, something that marks your life as something beautiful. Life is temporary and no one can escape its end. Don't run, don't struggle, this was always meant to happen. This is what I think the main message is:
Let death embrace you but do not let it comfort you. Just because you always knew death would come doesn't mean you should feel comforted by it. No, still fear its cold, cruel gaze but do not forget that this harsh being marks the end of something beautiful.
Dame man. That's a pretty good way of seeing it and yeah while I wouldn't have phrased it exactly the same way, that's what I got from this to.
Dear gods that's amazing and such an original take on them. Many just see them as yet another "death is good, die and stop existing because mortality makes life matter" but what you said was just... I can't put it into words exactly but it's so fucking true
"Those who ran from death stood still in life"
Obviously, avoid death, but don't let the fear of it cripple you, but rather push yourself, "struggle", so at the end you can embrace death willingly, on your terms.
That's my interpretation.
Best comment I EVER seen on UA-cam. Seriously.
"Do not go gentle into that good night"
F*ck is there a cure to being addicted to Kindred's quotes? The way they talk to each other is soooooo good.
They sound so peaceful yet so frightening
There is no cure for this we've become simps of the lamb and wolf
It’s.. not quite comforting, but somewhere close to it.
It's addictive, enchanting almost
The more I listen to this, the more I feel like wolf taunting us to run, flee, and cower, is his way of telling us to live our moments.
"They struggle, good"
Obviously you don't understand it because the story lamb tells the man is the grim reaper the wolf is bad the lamb is good basically when you accept death and are ar peace you'll see lamb if you fear death and fight back and struggle the wolf will hunt you down making the ending much more scary

"Those who run from death.. stood still in life."
This quote is so freaking good.
"Go easily.", Kindred
"No! Thrash, flee! Run if you can!", Wolf
Kindred is logic, telling us to give up against impossible odds.
Wolf is emotion, telling us to never give up whether it be due to spite, anger, or ambition. You have nothing to lose, so why not try?
"How one dies shows how one lived."
Death is but a reflection of life.
When we die.. we either die happy, knowing that we did all we could and made the most of it or tried. Or we die full of regret, wishing we had tried.
"They struggle, good."
Quite literally Wolf telling us he's glad we didn't give up. That we're willing to try to the end and not give up. (Don't FF 15, it ain't over till it's over.)
Or Wold is just a little sadistic.
"Embracing life means accepting death."
Pursuing your ambitions, means accepting potential mistakes.
You miss every skillshot you don't throw.
If you keep your eyes shut to opportunities, you miss seeing the beauty of Lady Luck taking your hand.
With that, my comment comes to an end. As all things do. But that didn't stop me from writing it, and sharing my thoughts with you.

Lamb: And if not?
Wolf: More fun.
Lamb: Embracing life means accepting death.
Lamb: Hush now, rest.
Lamb: Depart in peace.
Lamb: Return to nothing.
Lamb: Time to,
Wolf: End this.
Wolf: Lamb calls,
Lamb: Wolf strikes.
Lamb: And everywhere Lamb went,
Wolf: Wolf was sure to follow.
Wolf: And everywhere Lamb went...
Lamb: Wolf was sure to follow.
Thank you

Wonderful like a story, but I would love if it were one. Only make it 350 pages and I’d buy it right away.
Ah, yes, lyrics of the song that touches everyone
Great. Thnx!
There is not one single time that I come to this video and I don’t end up crying my heart out. It crosses my soul so hard everytime. The voices, the music, the lines, what Kindred represents and its story, everything catches you.
How can such a shallow, repetivtive game have a chatacter(s) with such deep stories and personalties?
I'd love a movie about Kindred.
Imagine Riot Games paying a animation company to make a movie about League of Legends. They won't do it unless the know for sure they can profit and not bring about a controversy.
@@sirsneakybeaky Yeah I heard about that.
Do u play fortnite or do u just hate games?
@@yeah8709 i dont like league of legends too but thats my opinion no need to be mad
@@imbrifabian1529 yes but the one thing u cant say about a game with over 120 champions to pick is repetetive each match up is going to be different u have to change your play style almost evert game unless u are iron and play every match up the same way over and over again
Am I the only one that wants to cry to some voiclines cause how deep they sound and their voices go together great
I thought I’m the only one ..... ;( until see you
No
"We know your name...We have always known it."
"All things, great and small...Die."
One of the most chilling Quotes i have ever heard.
The duo are like the Prometheus/Pandora from megaman ZX Advent.
I love how the Lamb voice is calm yet comforting while the Wolf is intimidating and brutal, and yet the Wolf speaks with emotions regarding death, and the Lamb's tone becoming eerie when calmly talking about life.
yassine Farah that's what makes it beautiful
Mark of the Kindred/mark of birth
You know, I came back and realised something. Lamb sounds.. Like a mother sometimes, especially when she tells the story.
It is quite poetic, to be brought into life by a mother and be politely guide to death by mother figure.
“Those who run from death, stood still in life.”
Me sitting on my couch watching this eating potato chips. 😟
"Lamb, tell me a story."
"There was one Yasuo who feed 0/13/1"
"Ok, that's enough..."
That hits his 0/10 power spike and penta kills your team
The end
O_o
@@reinsama5436 it happen 😂😂
The hell is this!?
And why is this so true?
Wolf is like an emotional child. He feels and doesn't understand.
Lamb is emotionally disconnected but is understanding. She understands but doesn't feel.
In simple terms one is innocent and one isn't
Which fate is worse?
@@billylee4460 lamb is worse
@@chaosoth9578 I dont know about that. To be able to feel the meaning of something but can never comprehend idea to why it is so in itself pretty bad.
But then again to to be able to understand the meaning behind something but can never feel why it is so is in itself pretty bad too.
@@billylee4460 try to picture it like this , would you rather live in the future to be depressed but understanding , or would you rather get the past back when you were a kid , and can feel everything ?
Because feelings are so unbelievably important , to the point where if some people lost it , then would immediately suicide , I hope you get the idea :)
i just realized when lamb tells wolf a story she references them as 'the pale man with dark hair' and didn't until now see the symbolistic and visual story telling. Pale man which is a ref to lambs pale ash wool and dark hair which could be a reason wolf's body looks like dark tendrils.
