I also add orange essential oil to mine to add to the germ fighting, & it smells great. This makes a nice gift put a small glass jar with a ribbon & the ingredients on a tag attached. Have you thought about putting all your great recipes & helpful hints into a booklet? I would sure purchase it!
I had made a all purpose cleaner with orange rinds that I put in a glass jar with vinegar. I put it outside (I live in Florida so it is always hot outside ). I had it out there for 3 weeks and every week I would turn it over. After the 3 weeks I took out the peels and put the solution in a spray bottle and topped it off with water. I was really surprised at what an awesome degreaser that was. I had some grease build up on my stove that I couldn't get rid of and this solution went right through it. It didn't smell very good, but worked great. The smell didn't linger.
I keep a squirt bottle in the shower mixed 1 part soap to two parts water and the guys use it as a shampoo and body wash. I have used it for shampoo as well but now I make my own herbal shampoo. You can also use it as a laundry soap - again, I make my own of that too but sometimes like to use the Dr. Bronner's - you only need a cap full per load. I really like the lavender for that, or when washing the guys work pants, I use tea tree
Thank you! So I don't need alot of the soap but just mix a small amount (capful) with the water? Herbal shampoo? That sounds wonderful. Do you have a video of that? I don't have a garden. I have way too many critters :(
Ohhhhh that would be awwwesome!!! Same time I send off my order to you I'm gonna go to Sam's and buy some BIIIIG bags of flour, baking soda, REAL SALT for eating (hehehe u taught me that) and REAL SUGAR!! Some other dry goods I really wanna stock up some more on too! Thank you for all this info! I do have quite a bit stored and "thought" it was good stuff but I don't want to just survive, I want to thrive where I can. Getting some healthier food is the best way to start. I know I chat with ya a lot but I "warned" ya...you were my Utube BFF now! Hahahaha I gotta pick your brilliant brain while we still have means to do so! You're the bestest and I "preciate" ya!! =D 😃 (I truly do, I hope u know that!) Oh, I'm also ordering my Moringa too! Brads progress at BFH has REALLY inspired me and gives me a real sense of hope that I haven't had for more years than I can count! Thanks again! Can't wait till tomorrow! 😆
Awesome! I have been using 'just baking soda' for scouring...I'll try adding salt! Thanks!PS...Isn't it empowering to learn to make all the products for cleaning that you used to purchase? Fewer chemicals and less pricey! :)
I went to link @ Amazon for Dr. Bronner,s soap - there are so many to choose from. I'm considering the peppermint/hemp one. Do you recommend 1 over the other? Also does it benefit, you if we use the link you provided? I hope so.
It really just depends on preference. Though I make my own laundry soap, I sometimes I like to use the lavender one in my laundry because it really gives it a nice smell. The peppermint one I keep in an old dish soap bottle diluted in two parts water for a body soap and they guys use it on their hair too. I make my own shampoo so I use that instead. I use the citrus or the tea tree to wash the dogs with. I like the citrus but the scent is much lighter than the rest of them. I have not tried the rose or almond, but think those would be nice too
Thank you for this. Do you use this just for cleaning surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom, or can it also be used in in a bowl of hot water to wash the dishes? I am in the UK and baking soda is called: 'bicarbonate of soda' here.
Rain Country Yeah, between you & Stacy, I went out & found Pink Himalayan Salt! But, over here we have Sea Salt & Marsh Salt that IS pure & not processed in any way but it is White. Maldon Salt Flakes are White & the Welsh & Cornish Sea Salt that's supposed to contain Sea Minerals is also White not as bright White as Maldon, but not Pink or Grey or Mottled. So I'm a bit confused on the Salt front.
I always forget to mention the Celtic Sea Salt. I use that one too, it is grey. I use it mostly for canning. Redmond Real Salt is still my very favorite but I also have a Black Lava Salt that I like quite a bit.
I like the frontal camara view, you look like a teacher:) Blessings

My mom keeps harping on me to write a book! Maybe I will some day :D
YES!!!
That would be great!
ellen fisher that's a great idea, I also would purchase it!

Hi Heidi, can we add Dr Jacob's liquid soap for tub scouring?
You can but this recipe is old and I have a new one that works so much better: ua-cam.com/video/FB4LDBZLoIU/v-deo.html
Thank you for this. Do you use this just for cleaning surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom, or can it also be used in in a bowl of hot water to wash the dishes? I am in the UK and baking soda is called: 'bicarbonate of soda' here.
I actually have a much newer recipe that is multi purpose for laundry and more: ua-cam.com/video/FB4LDBZLoIU/v-deo.html
And yes, there is Sodium Bicarbonate (AKA Baking Soda) and Sodium Carbonate (AKA Washing Soda): ua-cam.com/video/xqffIusroEM/v-deo.html
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you - I will check that out. I really like your videos - only found you yesterday!
Can you use in washing machine?
Yes but here is the recipe I use specifically for that as well as for scrubbing: ua-cam.com/video/FB4LDBZLoIU/v-deo.html
Just make sure to scour the taco
When you say "Cheap, crud Salt that you shouldn't eat" do you mean Table Salt?
Yes, just like with sugar and flour, if it is pure white, it should not be consumed
