i recently buy a bmpcc og with the super 16 sensor would be awesome to do film emulation with Dehancer, amazing video very informative keep the good work
THIS is the video I’ve been waiting for. I’ve been shooting in the 1620p mode for the last few months and it’s a hidden gem! It’s revved up my excitement even more about Magic Lantern. It’s a long time since I shot with real 16mm film. I love it then, and it’s wonderful to see that with Dehancer I can get that look again now. Thank you for all of your work! Your videos have been a crucial and indispensable resource for learning Magic Lantern, and seeing just how good “good” can be. Thank you!
Another great video showcasing the range of this little camera with Dehancer. I appreciate the methodical approach and explanations in your videos, hope to seem more fun experiments like this in the future. 👍
Cool... I also got that rogue cage for my EOS M from Filmatura. You guys know how to teach high level artistry through your videos. Thank you for showing us how to use tools like Dehancer so that we can take our art to another level.
You got me here. Normally can figure out film from digital no problem but this was a surprise. 🤞🤞 for the dehancer prize so I can try it with my BMCC 2.5K.
Woow, I am surprised that since your video comparison about 1x1 / 1x3 and 3x3 Crop-mode options... You also worked on this one ! Nice done and once again great review. I am currently trying to imitate film reel in literally every way except Dehancer. The reason is the price of this product. I admit that this tool is all in one and would really make my life easier. I plan to make a few short films in this style :)
Wow, Dehancer is very good for emulating film stock, I also have a EOS M and I'm using another grain simulator but this is a really good one. Thank you for the video, I enjoy your EOS M videos.
Great video! Thanks! Is there noise color in the 16mm film (09:00 min). Is it because of the scanning? If so, this is another thing to take in consideration and it make me think if shot film and digitalize it has any sense if we do it just for the film look.
I've always used Dehancer for most of my videos nowadays as it adds filmic look to my very sharp, digital footages. Heck I even color grade some of my footages on Dehancer itself! Nice comparison Sergio! Eos-m with ml is like semi film camera. Dehancer!
Wow, you really got the EOS M looking just like the film! I also use Dehancer (don't need to enter me in the contest because I already have it), loved seeing your go-to settings!
Don’t worry about to brick the camera, they’re just myths, and it will never happen. I've been using Magic Lantern for over two years without any issues. Good luck with the giveaway
Dehancer produces a very convincing film effect but the myriad of adjustments have to be understood. The compression & grain effect is the primary key here in achieving the film look but it lacks the film mtf feature though that can be fixed within Davinci. Oh it can be very slow if you have a low end GPU. Thanks for the great video as always.
Personally I’ll be sure about it because I know deeply what this camera can give me and how to use it. If you have experience with the EOS M you can easily shoot with it a future film.
I've got a small tip, something I've noticed with film a while ago and found a way to replicate it. My findings were that film seems to saturate the deep shadows far more than CMOS sensors and lose it's saturation in the highlights. You can see it in this clip. The EOS M can't hold saturation in the shadows quite aswell. To match film in this aspect, use the HSL curve LUM vs SAT. Set the input Lum point to 0.336 which is the mid gray of DWG and then set points to 0.00 and 1.00. All you do now is increase the saturation from the 0.00 point to however much you need to match the film and decrease it from the 1.00 point aswell.
Hello Sergio, Thanks for making this video and providing a giveway for Dehancer! I really appreciate the videos you are making showing the true strengths of Magic Lantern Cameras! - Paul
Saludos
Pretty good emulation, I got it wrong. Thought the A cam was the digital because I suspected the shake to be added in post. I actually ordered a K-3 from Tiras Photo too. How was your experience with them ?
Dehancer! It's almost undistinguishable between real 16mm & Dehancer. From my eyes the real thing looks better, but not by an overly high margin. Perhaps another test with a c-mount lens on the EOS M? :)
I love Dehancer with EOS M result! I'm exciting to make videos like that ❤
Dehancer is a great product for sure but your tutorial Sergio enhance it !
Thanks for the kind words! good luck
Can't believe your attention to detail and how close you were able to match the footage using Dehancer. Bravo!
Thanks for the kind words! I really enjoyed working on this project. Good luck!
Great video. Love the film comparisons, and the Dehancer looks great. Keep up the film content! Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! good luck
i recently buy a bmpcc og with the super 16 sensor would be awesome to do film emulation with Dehancer, amazing video very informative keep the good work
You should try it with your BMPCC. Good luck!
It uses Fairchild sensor which looked filmic by default. I wish I never sold it after getting the BMPCC 4K which I don't regret selling lol.

Uoolll Dehancer + Davinci Resolve and Canon EOS-M + Magic Lantern = Best low cost film camera simulation! congratulations Sergio!!
Thank you!
Dehancer put to some proper use! Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference!

Fascinating comparison! Great job Sergio!

Great results Sergio. Can't wait to make something similar with Krasnogorsk 3 and Eos M + Dehancer Pro. Congratulations!
Thank you!
Dehancer Pro does a pretty good job emulating film stock ! I am also a big fan of your workflow. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work
Thanks!!
Really interesting comparison. I particularly like the way you dialed in the Dehancer look!

Thank you! I’ll see you on November 30th. Good luck!
Dehancer would be great! A really good experiment and great to see the workflow!
thank you!!
Dehancer! Lets go.
Adding Dehancer to the comparison is a good idea. Your videos showcase the real potential of the camera, as you prefer using the 1:1 modes. Nice!
Thank you!!
Great Sergio! You nailed this Dehancer!! It could be great to give it a try!
thanks!! good luck
A professional comparison. EOS M has so much potential!
P.S. Dehancer :)
Glad you liked the comparison and good luck with the giveaway!
Dehancer really looks authentic. Great combo using eos-m
It’s interesting to see creative use of dehancer as I have the EOS M with Magic Lantern.
Nice video!
Thanks!!
Dehancer!!!!! That’s so nice!!!!
My pleasure!
Now it made me want to buy an Eos M, what a video potential! Dehancer is a powerfull and easy to use tool :0
I love your Magic Lantern Videos! Dehancer :)

I would like to see more film emulation tutorials using Dehancer, great tutorial Sergio!
Thanks, I might do some in the future.
Great job with Dehancer !
thank you
Thanks for your contribution to filmmaking and the eos M community! Dehancer is a very powerful tool indeed.
Thank you!!

This was a very interesting video, I was surprised with the comparison since I got it wrong! The Dehancer tool is very cool as well :)
I'm glad you like it! Good luck with the giveaway.
@ thanks man, I’m just getting started with the t5i with ML and your videos have been great, especially the one about exposure 👍
Dehancer looks interesting!
Couldn't tell the difference between which one was film at first glance! Dehancer really helps.
Thanks for watching!
I have both cameras. A EOS M and a original sovietic K3. I'd like try use dehancer. Good videos and channel!
thanks and good luck!
Dehancer is really the goat, I use it when I was in a production company but are unable to afford it now. Really wanted it
Good luck! See you on November 30th
A really similar result with the Dehancer Pro. Glad we have a software like this one and I would love to own it sometime.
See you on November 30th. Good luck!
Dehancer ! Love you Sergio
Thanks and good luck!!
❤
Wow, you really got the EOS M looking just like the film! I also use Dehancer (don't need to enter me in the contest because I already have it), loved seeing your go-to settings!
Thanks Alex, I’ll enter you, and then if You want you can give your license to anyone you want 🙂
@russo-filmmaking thank you!
Interesting video and process. Would love to be able to play with Dehancer 🙌
Thanks and good luck!
Very interesting video as always, Sergio. Hoping that this will be my chance to add Dehancer to my film tool-kit.
Thanks!!
Great job using Dehancer! I also use it at times... but was not aware of the "Custom" settings for the grain! Thanks for the comparison.
Thanks!!
Dehancer !!! Love your videos so much
Dehancer seems pretty fun to use. I just bought a Lumix GH3 as well
Very good approach in emulating film look with the help of Dehancer and EOS M. The results are quite similar.
Dehancer has a lot more parameters that you can manipulate than I previously thought. I'm impressed.
looks great! I regret not picking up a K-3 a few years ago when they went for $200 on ebay! Dahancer Pro
Thanks!!
Recently started using Dehancer and it is really handy to get that film look.
Dehancer Pro would definitely be cool to pair with eos-m. Would love to make an old school music video with it.
do it!! I’ll see you on novembre 30th. Good luck!
Dehancer would be awesome. Great experiment, always wanted to try magic lantern, but always too afraid I would cock something up and brick the camera.
Don’t worry about to brick the camera, they’re just myths, and it will never happen. I've been using Magic Lantern for over two years without any issues. Good luck with the giveaway
Hello sergio, at 1:13 what cage you're using on the eos m?
its name is Rogue and you can find it to this link www.filmatura.com
First time watching your channel. Great content, thanks. Dehancer
Welcome! and good luck.

Yes, of course Dehancer!!!!!
there's just a touch of irony in cameras pursuing higher and higher resolutions just so editors can use dehancer to soften the image.
Dehancer seems like a way to emulate film that I could get behind. I'm never super happy with what basic filters give me.
Dehancer deserves to be tested!
Sergio! What version of ML are you using?
Amazing work with dehancer btw!
Thank you! For my EOS M I use the latest Crop Mood modified by Danne. It’s the August 24th version
It was great to see you Dehancer
thanks!!
Dehancer would be quite lovely when paired with the raw video with my ML modded 600d an 5d II
Hello Sergio,
Thanks for making this video and providing a giveway for Dehancer! I really appreciate the videos you are making showing the true strengths of Magic Lantern Cameras!

Thanks! Good luck
@@russo-filmmaking You're welcome! Thanks.
Dehancer! I really picked the wrong camera when guessing which one was film. Quiet incredible
Dehancer is probably one of mans greatest creations

I actually ordered a K-3 from Tiras Photo too. How was your experience with them ?
From Tiras Photo I only bought the EF mount front plate. As far I didn’t have any problem, it works.
Deancher Pro is so good!
Thanks for the detail in this Video! Dehancer
Dehancer! It's almost undistinguishable between real 16mm & Dehancer. From my eyes the real thing looks better, but not by an overly high margin. Perhaps another test with a c-mount lens on the EOS M? :)
Yeah, some time I use c-mount vintage lenses to recreate a vintage look-
Dehancer 💯💯
Dehancer Uhuy ey!
I've never used the Dehancer. Would be nice thou 😅
until I can make the commitment to a proper film camera, it looks like Dehancer is the way to go!
Does Dehancer work in Final Cut?
Yes, if you win the giveaway you can ask for a Final Cut version. Good luck!!
Dehancer es una gran herramineta como emulador de película analógica. Gran test con la EOS-M.
Thanks and good luck
where did you get your eos m cage?
here www.filmatura.com
As a broke college film student, I would love to try Dehancer for my short film. This could completely changed my film to the next level!
Good luck !! see you on November 30th
Dehancer Is beautiful
