1:05 😂😂😂 hilarious!!! We lived in the back...right across from Switzerland...all we ever heard was yodelling...oh and the German pronunciation is just wow 😂😂😂
Will Ferral does do great in this role. However, I don’t think people how versatile of an actor Will Ferral is since in most popular movies he is usually cast in very comedic roles. He actually is able to play serious roles too.
This scene really shows you how tall Will is. Nathan is a bit short but with that hat he's as tall as Matthew who's average height. Yet Will is a head and more taller than both. It's especially clear at the end since you can see there's no clever framing.
People didn't like that this one went so much more over the top and campy with the acting I guess? I've seen three versions and this is the one I keep coming back to (partially because I can't exactly rewatch a stage play anytime I want.) I feel like folks don't get that using the same energy the actors in the original used would be weird in the musical version.
@@mightymoeish it’s not totally garbage. The performance of springtime For Hitler is beautiful musically. The choreography is more refined than the original.
I love how in the original it is Mel Brooks who says the line "Don't be stupid, be a smarty. Come and join the Nazi Party", but in his remake they had a younger person on screen but it was still his voice. Mel Brooks is legendary.
Yeah, will feral doesn’t even seem like a person. And he isn’t scary at all. In the old movie you actually believed he was a nazi, and that he would kill you in a second.
Fun fact: that circular round structure made of wood in the background is how tenement buildings in New York collected rainwater to supply their buildings with potable tapwater. Lots of stories about pigeons and raccoons floating around in there… True.
Collected? There’s still a cistern in most buildings here in the city. I have a rooftop deck in my building and you will see a metal casing to one side. Behind it is the cistern.
I gotta disagree, I just rewatched the original, and while everyone's performance was stellar, I think the extra meat the remake added to the story, especially the different ending worked a lot better. In the original the secretary was just set dressing but the remake not only gave her an actual character but made her intergal to the damage and eventual repair of the relationship of the two leads. Not to mention the musical element that the og lacked. I love mel brooks so very much, but the remake is superior to his original. Edit: at least in my opinion. : )
Kenneth Mars was much better. Not in the way, that Ferrel gets an 8 while Mars a 9. No, Mars is so much better than Ferrel, that if they were spaceships, Mars would have left the solar system , broken the speed of light, travelled back to the past, saved the dinosaurs (cause he was that fucking awesome) and returned before Ferrel even took off. Seriously, I like Ferrel I think he has talent when he doesn't let himself get carried away or when he has a director that can hold his reins so to speak, but here he completely dropped the ball.

Will Ferrell’s German accent is everything 🤣🤣🤣
Lol Believable yet over the top at the same time
Love it
Honestly it's his best role.in my opinion
@Florian D. oh I meant only will Farrell
wilder was in a different stratosphere in terms of acting
When you’re German, it’s an American Guy, with a strong English Accent, speaking German.
Notice that Ferrell is wearing a German prison uniform -- apparently taken from one of the prisoners he was guarding in 1945.
How did he get the luftwaffe helmet?
@@hannahtriz stole that too back then? Or brought/stole (probably stole) from a museum or antique shop
Alternatively, when the Allies liberated the camps, many Nazi POWs were held in them.

This whole scene was perfect! Lol from Will Ferrell’s German Accent to his damn bird “Adalf!” 🐦✋Lol 😂 too much
This is my favourite scene in the whole movie! We performed this section of it in my drama school!
My favourite part too!
Will Ferral does do great in this role. However, I don’t think people how versatile of an actor Will Ferral is since in most popular movies he is usually cast in very comedic roles. He actually is able to play serious roles too.
Although he is pretty wonderful in his roles in popular comedies. I wonder what type of roles he likes playing best
I might, this is fairly consistent with how Ferral is usually cast. He's playing a mentally unstable weirdo, who's the butt of the jokes.
The Adolf-Bird ... :D
2:06 of course the bird can do that
I swear this guy nailed the whole crazy nazi guy who train his bird to hail

How is this movie not more popular? It was amazing!

I am not a fan of will ferrell in the slightest, but he is hysterical in this.
Not sure how because this is the same character he plays in every movie. At least step brothers and talladega nights were well written.
The rest is "boring"? Go watch the original movie (1967/1968) with Gene Wilder.
