And they're only doing this so they can convince Buddy to sell them to rights to his Hilter fanfic so that Timone and Simba can use it to commit tax fraud.
You know, to this day, the thing that amazes me most about this song is that despite sounding like it, it's not random gibberish. When translated, the song is basically about having a good time. It's kinda like that moment in the Kyle's Mom song from the South Park movie where Cartman starts singing in other languages. He sings it so fast, you think he's just spouting random gibberish that sounds like another language but couldn't possibly be it, but that really is what the song would sound like in those other languages.
That's not so surprising. Mel Brooks' father was from Germany, and his mother was from the Jewish community in Ukraine (probably Yiddish-Speaking). Mel also served in World War II, seeing service in Germany. I suspect he speaks at least conversational German.
As a Polish Jew, I remember my dad showing me this movie and the Mel Brookes version one night as a right of passage. Humor is definitely part of how we survive.
It actually might’ve been, I know a lot of smaller blows weren’t held back in the old days, if you wanna go REALLY far back, look up “three stooges real injuries” there’s a compilation of them breaking bones and stuff all in the name of comedy
This movie is so fucking underrated. The 2005 version only got 51 rotten tomatoes but it deserves just as many as the original. Granted I’ve never seen the original so my opinion may be irrelevant but the humor is just amazing as well as the acting. One of my favorite musicals :)
The original doesn't have any song-and-dance numbers beyond "Springtime For Hitler," has Hitler played by a whacked-out, drugged-out hippie , and ends after they've been sent to prison because it was made during the time period when you couldn't show criminals getting away with it.
This whole scene from beginning to end is just so hysterical.I love watching these 3 amazing actors together just truly an amazing trio they were to watch.Leo falling every time and the pigeons just have me howling with laughter every single time.Love love love this movie.
The band at the Oktoberfest I attended the day of this posting played this song after playing the fifth through seventh movements of the Blue Danube Waltz.
tbh you'd probably have an easier time finding non german neo-nazis than german neo-nazis these days. at least in west germany, ironically its more common in the ex-soviet east.
Megamind, Simba and Timon are doing a musical together about Springtime for Hitler on Broadway. To make fun of Nazis and Germans of WW2 in a Mel Brooks movie
I’ve warmed up to this. Slowly. I adore Will Ferrell, but Kenneth Mars was so locked in my brain for this role that it took me a long time to accept a different take on this role. But that’s the appeal of remakes. You get to see different interpretations and performances. Maybe that’s obvious; otherwise, what’s the point of a remake?

Buddy the elf is indoctrinating Simba and Timone into Nazism... When put like that this maybe one of the most surreal scenes ever.
Where is Pumbaa the Hog? Wait a minute! I’ll take that back. At least, he won’t be indoctrinated. 😄🤣
@@MarkEmperorHe's currently in the bar getting drunk in a deleted scene.

Thanks for giving me a new "describe a good movie in a shitty way".

Every time Matt falls, I crack up. He just has a gift for physical comedy
And for running people over

If you translate it, there's still a lot of gibberish though. ^^

Cartman’s song was gibberish though

those pigeons.. love them 😂😂😂

I think they're actual muppets, too
Leo reminds me of myself at any obligatory school event I didn’t want to participate in.
he reminds me of myself in gym class
@@liv5455 Relatable.
Ferrell brings out something I never expected to see in a Nazi - a kind of kid-like innocence.
ITS A MOVIE?!
There’s something strangely comforting about that, and I love it❤️
@@lynnmeyers8433 "The Producers" 2005, a musical remake of "The Producers" 1967. Highly recommend.
It’s because he played an innocent, naive man-elf… you’re probably seeing that here in his performance of Franz.
I love it when the pigeons join in!
Matthew Broderick's face when he gets slapped gives me life! So funny!
Is this truly what Bueller has gone to? Being slapped around by a nazi that just so happens to look a lot like Will Ferrel?
I love how Will Ferrel slaps Simba.
Yakko Warner and Timon let it happen
that’s nathan lane not rob paulsen lol
Nathan lane voiced Timon in the original, animated lion king back in 1994. I think your referring to the “live action” remake.
@@chasemorrow5972 nah, hes thinking of the TV show. Rob did that

@@blackjac5000 oh boy. Yeah. You gotta see the original. It’s hysterical.
I lost it when they said "Nazi hoedown"!

I totally agree!

I absolutely love the brass at 1:45. It's so good, and this song is so catchy.
the audition scene was my favorite part, but this one 😂 steals my heart

Timon, Simba and Megamind.

I lost it when the fucking pidgeons joined in.

Fkn adorable lol
THIS is lunatic/manic GENIUS of a rare kind, indeed!
Will is such a hoot in this, as they all are! Love the pigeon wing flaps as the background chorus! Bravo!👏
Buddy the elf teaches Simba and Timon how to dance
The birds get so excited at the end!
Will Ferrell at his best!
There are few roles that I like Will Ferrell in and this one tops them all.
Been two years since I saw this the fact I remember this scene is amazing
I have to do this song perfectly for a girl, word for word, step for step but it will be worth it.
Yeah, it's really hard to convince a girl you are into you are that gay.
+Nathan Bowman well you do have to keep it gay... Get it?
Well, how'd it go?

Not really.

Well it's Mel Brooks stereotype and it was written in the mid 60's, barely 20 years after the war.
Amazing choreography!
Will Ferrel in this role is just....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love this movie
Sounds like every song we sang in German class in high school! LOL!!
So great to see Ferris Bueller being this funny
Absolutely hilarous 😂😂😂

Will Ferrel is brilliant in this role👌
Matthew Broderick's face at 0:31 after getting slapped. Lol
Will really does demonstrate the form of party fighting that is the Schuplattler.
Nathan Lane really getting really into it is so funny to me lol

Best scene in the movie.

It’s amazing on how they made Nathan Lane look just like Zero Mostel.
And in the 1968 movie, Zero Mostel was the original Max Biallystock

This is what happens when you leave Pumba behind. Simba get smacked.
I can't believe this movie didn't do good at the box office. There's just so much hilarious stuff here. My favorite part is the "Hitler Auditions."

The perk of being as short as Nathan Lane is is that he got punched in the tummy at the end whereas it looked like Broderick got it right in his bits
They really get a lot of mileage out of how much taller Will Ferrell is than both Lane and Broderick.

Perhaps Mr.Lane as Pepper in Modern Family - could get his own spin of show
