So I think with the camera changes in that scene it may have been shot out of order where he gave the improvised part and they went back and tied it in to give it meaning / relevance
This for sure is a timeless classic. I was lucky enough to be one of the non scripted actors at this party. Everyone of the comedians is a genius. Much of what the actors said was ad lib. Will did an amazing job singing and John playing the drums. It only took one take and everyone was in tears.
Will Ferrell has an amazing singing voice. There is so much emotion in this song. Even with the funny clips happening around the song. We still feel something in our hearts.

I think after i watched this film I decided to turn to drums. I'm now the proud owner of a Gretsch Catalina set. It's the Gretsch Catalina wine mixer. Unfortunately I'm still crap at it. But I have dreams.
