I remember the first iteration of the "sniper's boombox": It was originally envisioned to have a fitting to the trigger of the rifles that would kick a solenoid release of the sears if a designated number of snipers had a shot at the same moment. The snipers would hold their triggers whenever they had a "good" shot; enough snipers getting a good hold at the same instant -- BANGBANGBANGBANG.....The problem was that this was determined to be a less-good option, since the situation at that second might not call for it, and there was too much chance for error. The later models, like this, simply tell a controller who has shots and who doesn't, and positive control is retained by the central controller/director at all times.
CS gas is certainly no fun! Breathed more than enough in my 12 years in the RAF. However familiar you are with the effects it still incapacitates within a couple of breaths (other than one of my friends who seemed immune and could stand and chat in the gas chamber indefinitely). What experience does teach you is that the effects clear quickly once in fresh air--just don't start rubbing your eyes with contaminated hands The other lesson quickly learnt is not to wash in hot water--it stings!
Its called an S10 respirator, although at the iranian embassy seige they were using S6 respirators. I prefered the S6 for me it was better for periferary vision. The S10 had some other options that the S6 did not have.
They are attacking the hinges of the door because people (usually) don't reinforce that side of the door. The side with the lock can have multiple bolts at random places/heights but people don't put them on the hinge side, meaning you usually only have to defeat the hinges to get a door open, rather than the multiple locks). Hinges are also weaker than locks so they (marginally) quicker to break than locks.
Definitely a great series to watch, and it's one of my favorites. 4:46 It especially seems much easier to maintain a fixed field of view with a decent tripod, just so you don't have to worry about reacquiring your target as much compared to binos. At least that's always been my assumption, but I have very little familiarity with the subject. I cannot speak to the need for mobility when it comes to choosing binos vs spotting scopes.
Spotting scopes are so much nicer because you can see shifts in movement easier. With binos, everything at every depth is moving slightly and it's a struggle to verify something lol
