Bro im from puerto rico and only people that have family/friends or live in the hood (residenciales/caserio) enter there or to buy drugs. The fact that you entered sabana abajo is crazy! Anime's always been big in Puerto Rico. We had Mazinger Zeta and Robotech in the 80's, Dragonball and Saint Seiya in the 90's, and all the Toonami/Adult Swim anime in the 2000's. Anime fans are hella fierce in Latin America, and PR is no exception.

Forreal, the Puerto Rican people are amazing and very respectable people.
I visited the island a few years ago, I was with some local friends I made and they brought me to the projects to drink. They introduced me to some people and we had a great time.
I got a call and I answered my phone, and one of the dealers walked up to me and politely asked me to put the phone away n I did. I forgot abt the rule where u not supposed to be on your phone in those parts, and he had the right to fuck me up or kick me out or worse… Yet he was respectful, understanding and polite bc he knew I wasn’t from there and showed me respect and he even apologized for interrupting my call when I was in the wrong.
Even in the dangerous parts, the people will show respect as long as you respect them. Great people all around.
I didn't go to any hoods, but I can say when I was there no one tried to scam us, like in so many other places I have travelled. Everyone was really nice, never felt unsafe.

My mom grew up in Puerto Rico so I spent my summers there as a little kid
My grandpa still lives there in Carolina, and your adventures there ESPECIALLY getting lost driving around in El Yunque, are so reminiscent of the first couple times I went as a young adult. I recognize all the places you went as home, its crazy, so odd to see a youtube video like this. Puerto Rico is literally part of the US and yet treated like another country. Logan and Jake Paul and a ton of other youtubers live there but nobody goes out there to make documentary content. Good work, Brandon! Next stop, come with me to Cuba!

Llorens Torres I've never felt unsafe in. I had a jevita from there I visited regularly, and I got stopped one or two times, but I just told them I was visiting a friend and giving them her name and they never bothered me, and I'm just a chill kinda rocker guy, so they never saw me as suspicious anyway, they were just being careful. Honestly, if I fell on hard times and had to live in the projects, I could do worse than Llorens.

Thank you for showing the non-touristy Puerto Rico! I lived in Carolina for many years and never had an issue with crime in our neighborhood, but at times I could hear gunshots a couple blocks away. What I learned in my time in PR was that gang violence was not random, so unless you're in a gang or a part of that life, it really didn't affect my family and never ever go to La Perla.

I'm Puerto Rican born and raised, and even though I hate Regueton, drugs, crime, and all that shit, I can't help but feel swelling pride whenever I see fellow Boricuas show love towards the island.
